    In this paper we will establish a mathematical model with the help of second order differential equations by assuming that the rate of change of percentage germination loss with respect to grain infestation is proportional to germination loss. We have selected entomological data for our problem to be in the paper.     Prevalence of hypothyroidism in reproductive age group in rural population of Haryana and its effects on menstrual disturbances

    Background: Menstrual disorders are a common problem in reproductive age females. These disorders may cause significant anxiety for patients and their families. Thyroid dysfunction is one of the common cause of menstrual irregularities. Aim of the study was to determine the prevalence of hypothyroidism in reproductive age group women (15-45years), describe its various modes of clinical presentation and to assess the menstrual pattern in women with hypothyroidism.Methods: Prospective observational hospital based study during a period of 6 months (January 2020 to June 2020) on patients presenting in OPD in department of obstetrics and gynaecology, SGT medical college, hospital and research institute, Budhera, Gurgaon.Results: Prevalence of hypothyroidism was found to be 52.6% (190 out of total 338 patients) and it increased with increasing age group. 213 patients out of total came with complains of menstrual irregularities. 49.2% with normal menstrual cycle had hypothyroidism while 60.4% presenting with irregular heavy menstrual bleeding had hypothyroidism, p value being 0.019 which was statistically significant.Conclusions: Menstrual irregularities increase with severity of hypothyroidism. So screening for thyroid dysfunction should be included in management plan of menstrual disturbances

    IEEE introduced a new standard IEEE 802.11ax for the next generation WLANs.As we know,the current throughput is very low because of the current Media Access Control(MAC) in present wireless area networks.So,the concept of Orthogonal Frequency Multiple Access(OFDMA) to facilitate multi user access is introduced.The main challenges of adopting OFDMA areoverhead reduction and synchronization.To meet these challenges this paper revised an OFDMA based OMAX protocol.And due to various various bandwidth consuming applications and devices today’s WLANs have become stressed and low at throughput.To handle this problem MU MIMO is used to improve the performance of WLANs.This paper surveys uplink/downlink mutli user MAC protocols for MIMO enabled devices.It also identifies the key requirements of MAC protocol design

    A review on regulatory control of chromium stress in plants

    Chromium (Cr) is a non-biodegradable heavy metal that persists long in aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems and enters the food chain. It is cytotoxic even at low concentrations and reduces the yield of plants. Plants also have cellular mechanisms to manage the accumulation of metal ions inside the cell to diminish the possible injury from non-essential metal ions. This paper reviews current information on plant response to Cr, a key environmental pollutant. The harmful effects together with absorption, transfer, and aggregation of Cr are discussed. The roles of the cell wall, plasma membrane, and plant microbes as the primary hindrances for Cr ingression into the cell, along with sequestration and compartmentalization process, have also been discussed. Cr-generated oxidative injury is also regarded as the main deliberated effect of Cr toxicity.  It interferes with NADPH oxidases (plasma membrane) and the electron transport chains, which develop electron leakage. Some genes related to Cr stress in plants get expressed, and suppression produces protective effects by activating the signal transduction pathways. The expression of genes like BnaCnng69940D and BnaC08g49360D is increased, which is involved in protein kinase activity, signal transduction, and oxidoreductase activity. The increased mRNA levels of Cr stress response proteins, including HSP90-1 and MT-1, have been reported in the Brassica napus plant. The stressed environment around the plants may stimulate the biosynthesis of phytochelatins and metal-binding proteins, which have a protective role in plant’s growth and development.

    The perplexity of malignant ovarian mass in cystadenofibroma: a lesson learnt

    The aim of this study is to report a rare case of ovarian cystadenofibroma with even scarcely observed mucinous type histopathological variant and to discuss the modalities which can contribute to prevent misdiagnosing it as a malignant tumor that may inappropriately lead to aggressive surgical interventions. A 40-year-old female presented with pain in lower abdomen and dysmenorrhea of 3 months duration and a large right adnexal mass which had all the features suggestive of malignancy in pre-operative investigations and even on gross overview and cut section. On the contrary histopathology reports confirmed its benign nature and reported it as mucinous cystadenofibroma. Role of Preoperative MRI and intraoperative frozen section cannot be overemphasized in distinguishing ovarian cystadenofibroma from malignant tumors, which can avoid an unnecessary extensive surgery

    Seroprevalence of HIV in blood donors at tertiary care center, M.Y.H. Indore, India

    Background: Transfusion of blood has become an important mode of transmission of infections such as human immunodeficiency virus and hepatitis B to the recipients. Blood transfusion is a boon in medical era if properly screened. The aim of study was to determine the seroprevalence of HIV donors in blood bank at M.Y.H. Indore.Methods: The study was conducted in the blood bank, M.Y.H. Hospital, Indore. Total 115775 donors attending blood bank were included in the study. All the donor samples were screened for detection of antibodies for human immunodeficiency virus by microwell Enzyme Linked Immunosorption Assay (ELISA) method. The seroprevalence of HIV infection among the donors was determined over a period of five years since January 2013 to December 2017.Results: Total 115775 blood donors were recorded. Out of total 115775 blood donors included in the study, replacement donor were 10766 (9.29%) while voluntary donor were 105009 (90.70%). In the duration of five-year study period, total 80 cases (0.06%) were reactive to HIV. Out of total 115775 blood donors included in the study, maximum cases i.e. 22 (0.08%) cases were found to be positive for HIV infection in year 2017. Out of 10766 replacement donors included in the study, 64 cases (0.59%) were reactive to HIV infection. While out of 105009 voluntary donors, 16 cases (0.01%) were found to be reactive to HIV infection. Voluntary donors are more as compared to the replacement donors. Number of HIV positive patients were found to more in replacement donor as compared to the voluntary donors.Conclusions: The seroprevalence of HIV is low in this study and hence it is concluded that the more the number of voluntary donors, the less the number of HIV positive cases. Voluntary donors can be motivated by proper health education and high quality screening programs

    Determinants of anaemia among adolescent girls in rural Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh

    Background: India is home to 253 million adolescents 10-19 years of age, among the largest cohorts globally. This age group comprises of individuals in a transient phase of life requiring nutrition, education, counselling and guidance to ensure their development into healthy adults. Adolescent girls are the most vulnerable group of population due to different reasons especially anaemia. Anaemia is a major public health problem worldwide. The aim of this study was to assess the prevalence of anaemia and associated factors among adolescent girls (10-19 years) in rural Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Methods: The present study was a community-based cross-sectional study conducted among 369 adolescent girls in rural Varanasi with a semi-structured and pretested questionnaire. Results: Study shows that the overall prevalence of anaemia among adolescent girls was 67.8% out of which 41.5% and 24.4% were mild and moderately anaemic respectively. Anaemia was significantly associated with age groups, birth order, menarche status, no. of days of menstruation, gap between two cycles, use of clothes/sanitary pads and no. of pads used during menstrual cycle. Conclusions: Study found some preliminary factors significantly associated with anaemia like low socio-economic status, higher birth order, and knowledge about menstrual hygiene practices. Anaemia continues to be a major public health problem in India despite multiple initiatives to address it among adolescent girls
