Contribution of DKDK Continuum in the QCD Sum Rule for DsJ(2317)D_{sJ}(2317)

Using the soft-pion theorem and the assumption on the final-state interactions, we include the contribution of DKDK continuum into the QCD sum rules for DsJ(2317)D_{sJ}(2317) meson. We find that this contribution can significantly lower the mass and the decay constant of Ds(0+)D_s(0^+) state. For the value of the current quark mass mc(mc)=1.286GeVm_c(m_c)=1.286 {\rm GeV}, we obtain the mass of Ds(0+)D_s(0^+) M=2.33±0.02GeVM=2.33 \pm 0.02 {\rm GeV} in the interval s0=7.5−8.0GeV2s_0=7.5-8.0 {\rm GeV}^2, being in agreement with the experimental data, and the vector current decay constant of Ds(0+)D_s(0^+) f0=0.128±0.013GeVf_0=0.128 \pm 0.013 {\rm GeV}, much lower than those obtained in previous literature

Schwarzschild-de Sitter Metric and Inertial Beltrami Coordinates

Under consideration of coordinate conditions, we get the Schwarzschild-Beltrami-de Sitter (S-BdS) metric solution of the Einstein field equations with a cosmological constant Λ\Lambda. A brief review to the de Sitter invariant special relativity (dS-SR), and de Sitter general relativity (dS-GR, or GR with a Λ\Lambda) is presented. The Beltrami metric BμνB_{\mu\nu} provides inertial reference frame for the dS-spacetime. By examining the Schwarzschild-de Sitter (S-dS) metric gμν(M)g_{\mu\nu}^{(M)} existed in literatures since 1918, we find that the existed S-dS metric gμν(M)g_{\mu\nu}^{(M)} describes some mixing effects of gravity and inertial-force, instead of a pure gravity effect arisen from "solar mass" MM in dS-GR. In this paper, we solve the vacuum Einstein equation of dS-GR, with the requirement of gravity-free metric gμν(M)∣M→0=Bμνg_{\mu\nu}^{(M)}|_{M\rightarrow 0}=B_{\mu\nu}. In this way we find S-BdS solution of dS-GR, written in inertial Beltrami coordinates. This is a new form of S-dS metric. Its physical meaning and possible applications are discussed.Comment: 16 pages, 1 figur

Institutionalization, Organizational Commitment, and Hope for Personal Fulfillment in The Shawshank Redemption

    Get PDF
Institutionalization is a socialization process through which the values, beliefs, policies, and practices of an organization are instilled within the members of that organization that they might collectively adopt these values or rules and commit themselves to that organization. However, those being institutionalized under authoritarian discipline may lose the freedom of their soul and a personal level of self. In order to raise readers’ awareness of the impact of institutionalization and commitment on the individual or collective actors, this study intends to use the film The Shawshank Redemption as a case study, using content analysis as a qualitative research technique to analyze the symbolic scenes in the film in order to reveal how commitment and stability via institutionalization can be brought into the organization. To achieve this goal, the study uses Scott’s institutional theory and Meyer and Allen’s organizational commitment model to demonstrate how commitment may greatly impact people. Those being institutionalized, like Brooks in The Shawshank Redemption, may lose their ability to think and act independently and thus lose their hope for fulfillment. However, those like Andy and, later, Red, choosing to hold on to freedom of the soul and a personal level of self, can deinstitutionalize themselves; break free of the shackles, either physically or spiritually, of the organization; and make a commitment toward their own inner development

In the asymmetric unit of the title hydrazone compound, C15H10Br2N2O4, there are two independent molecules. In each molecule, the five-membered ring adopts a flattened envelope conformation; the flap atoms are displaced by 0.114 (2) and 0.219 (2) Å from the planes of the other four atoms. In one molecule the dihedral angle between the two benzene rings is 22.8 (2)°, while in the other it is 40.8 (2)°. Each molecule displays an E configuration with respect to the C=N bond. In both molecules, intramolecular O—H⋯N hydrogen bonds are observed. In the crystal structure, molecules are linked through intermolecular N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming chains along the a axis

This mini-review aims at strengthening the links among textile science, physics, and mathematics. The state-of-the-art technology for silver ions’ release from hollow fibers is reviewed, its bottleneck problems are identified, and some open problems are elucidated. The release oscillation opens a new era for modern applications of hollow fibers containing silver ions
