Hidden itinerant-spin phase in heavily-overdoped La2-xSrxCuO4 revealed by dilute Fe doping: A combined neutron scattering and angle-resolved photoemission study
We demonstrated experimentally a direct way to probe a hidden propensity to
the formation of spin density wave (SDW) in a non-magnetic metal with strong
Fermi surface nesting. Substituting Fe for a tiny amount of Cu (1%) induced an
incommensurate magnetic order below 20 K in heavily-overdoped La2-xSrxCuO4
(LSCO). Elastic neutron scattering suggested that this order cannot be ascribed
to the localized spins on Cu or doped Fe. Angle-resolved photoemission
spectroscopy (ARPES), combined with numerical calculations, revealed a strong
Fermi surface nesting inherent in the pristine LSCO that likely drives this
order. The heavily-overdoped Fe-doped LSCO thus represents the first plausible
example of the long-sought "itinerant-spin extreme" of cuprates, where the
spins of itinerant doped holes define the magnetic ordering ground state. This
finding complements the current picture of cuprate spin physics that highlights
the predominant role of localized spins at lower dopings. The demonstrated set
of methods could potentially apply to studying hidden density-wave
instabilities of other "nested" materials on the verge of density wave

Generalized - Model
By parameterizing the t-j model we present a new electron correlation model
with one free parameter for high-temperature superconductivity. This model is
of symmetry. The energy spectrums are shown to be modulated by
the free parameter in the model. The solution and symmetric structures of the
Hilbert space, as well as the Bethe ansatz approach are discussed for special

The effect of bandwidth in scale-free network traffic
We model information traffic on scale-free networks by introducing the
bandwidth as the delivering ability of links. We focus on the effects of
bandwidth on the packet delivering ability of the traffic system to better
understand traffic dynamic in real network systems. Such ability can be
measured by a phase transition from free flow to congestion. Two cases of node
capacity C are considered, i.e., C=constant and C is proportional to the node's
degree. We figured out the decrease of the handling ability of the system
together with the movement of the optimal local routing coefficient ,
induced by the restriction of bandwidth. Interestingly, for low bandwidth, the
same optimal value of emerges for both cases of node capacity. We
investigate the number of packets of each node in the free flow state and
provide analytical explanations for the optimal value of . Average
packets traveling time is also studied. Our study may be useful for evaluating
the overall efficiency of networked traffic systems, and for allevating traffic

Soliton Solutions on Noncommutative Orbifold $ T^2/Z_4
In this paper, we explicitly construct a series of projectors on integral
noncommutative orbifold by extended constrution. They include
integration of two arbitary functions with symmetry. Our expressions
possess manifest symmetry. It is proved that the expression include all
projectors with minimal trace and in their standard expansions, the eigen value
functions of coefficient operators are continuous with respect to the arguments
and . Based on the integral expression, we alternately show the
derivative expression in terms of the similar kernal to the integral one.Since
projectors correspond to soliton solutions of the field theory on the

Spectra of Baryons Containing Two Heavy Quarks in Potential Model
In this work, we employ the effective vertices for interaction between
diquarks (scalar or axial-vector) and gluon where the form factors are derived
in terms of the B-S equation, to obtain the potential for baryons including a
light quark and a heavy diquark. The concerned phenomenological parameters are
obtained by fitting data of mesons instead of the heavy quarkonia.
The operator ordering problem in quantum mechanics is discussed. Our numerical

is very small and it is consistent with the heavy quark effective

Revisiting the B {\to} {\pi} {\rho}, {\pi} {\omega} Decays in the Perturbative QCD Approach Beyond the Leading Order
We calculate the branching ratios and CP asymmetries of the ,
decays in the perturbative QCD factorization approach up to the
next-to-leading-order contributions. We find that the next-to-leading-order
contributions can interfere with the leading-order part constructively or
destructively for different decay modes. Our numerical results have a much
better agreement with current available data than previous leading-order
calculations, e.g., the next-to-leading-order corrections enhance the
branching ratios by a factor 2.5, which is helpful
to narrow the gaps between theoretic predictions and experimental data. We also
update the direct CP-violation parameters, the mixing-induced CP-violation
parameters of these modes, which show a better agreement with experimental data

T-Bet and Eomes Regulate the Balance between the Effector/Central Memory T Cells versus Memory Stem Like T Cells
Memory T cells are composed of effector, central, and memory stem cells. Previous studies have implicated that both T-bet and Eomes are involved in the generation of effector and central memory CD8 T cells. The exact role of these transcription factors in shaping the memory T cell pool is not well understood, particularly with memory stem T cells. Here, we demonstrate that both T-bet or Eomes are required for elimination of established tumors by adoptively transferred CD8 T cells. We also examined the role of T-bet and Eomes in the generation of tumor-specific memory T cell subsets upon adoptive transfer. We showed that combined T-bet and Eomes deficiency resulted in a severe reduction in the number of effector/central memory T cells but an increase in the percentage of CD62LhighCD44low Sca-1+ T cells which were similar to the phenotype of memory stem T cells. Despite preserving large numbers of phenotypic memory stem T cells, the lack of both of T-bet and Eomes resulted in a profound defect in antitumor memory responses, suggesting T-bet and Eomes are crucial for the antitumor function of these memory T cells. Our study establishes that T-bet and Eomes cooperate to promote the phenotype of effector/central memory CD8 T cell versus that of memory stem like T cells. © 2013 Li et al
HIV Incidence among Men Who Have Sex with Men in China: A Meta-Analysis of Published Studies
Men who have sex with men (MSM) have now become one of the priority populations for prevention and control of HIV pandemic in China. Information of HIV incidence among MSM is important to describe the spreading of the infection and predict its trends in this population. We reviewed the published literature on the incidence of HIV infection among MSM in China.We identified relevant studies by use of a comprehensive strategy including searches of Medline and two Chinese electronic publication databases from January 2005 to September 2010. Point estimate of random effects incidence with corresponding 95% confidence intervals (CI) of HIV infection was carried out using the Comprehensive Meta-Analysis software. Subgroup analyses were examined separately, stratified by study design and geographic location.Twelve studies were identified, including three cohort studies and nine cross-sectional studies. The subgroup analyses revealed that the sub-overall incidence estimates were 3.5% (95% CI, 1.7%-5.3%) and 6.7% (95% CI, 4.8%-8.6%) for cohort and cross-sectional studies, respectively (difference between the sub-overalls, Q = 5.54, p = 0.02); and 8.3% (95% CI, 6.9%-9.7%) and 4.6% (95% CI, 2.4%-6.9%) for studies in Chongqing and other areas, respectively (difference between the sub-overalls, Q = 7.58, p<0.01). Syphilis infection (RR = 3.33, p<0.001), multiple sex partnerships (RR = 2.81, p<0.001), and unprotected receptive anal intercourse in the past six months (RR = 3.88, p = 0.007) represented significant risk for HIV seroconversion.Findings from this meta-analysis indicate that HIV incidence is substantial in MSM in China. High incidence of HIV infection and unique patterns of sexual risk behaviors in this population serve as a call for action that should be answered with the innovative social and public health intervention strategies, and development of biological prevention strategies
