Semiconductor devices for optical communications in 1 micron band of wavelength
Crystal growth and the characteristics of semiconductor lasers and diodes for the long wavelength band used in optical communications are examined. It is concluded that to utilize the advantages of this band, it is necessary to have a large scale multiple wavelength communication, along with optical cumulative circuits and optical exchangers
Beitrag zum Problem über den Einflnss der Inhalation von mit CO(2) versetzter Luft auf verschiedene Symptome, die sicn bei Unterdruck einstellen
Im Jahre 1935 stellte Professor Dr. Oinuma mit seinem Kollegen bei der Besteigung des Fuji (3776 Meter uber dem Meeresspiegel) fest, dass die Inhalation von mit CO(2) versetzter Luft einen gunstigen Einfluss auf die Bergkrankheit ausubt.
Wir stellten bezuglich dieses Punktes experimentelle Untersuchungen in der Unterdruckkammer unseres Laboratoriums an, unter Mithilfe unserer Kollegen als Versuchspersonen. Dabei wurden die Zusammensetzung und das Volumen der Expirationsluft, der Prozentsatz von O(2) und CO(2) der Alveolarluft (nach der Haldane'schen Methode), sowie auch die Gase im arteriellen Blut (nach der Slyke'schen Methode) gemessen. Die Resultate lassen sich folgendermassen zusammen fassen: 1) Bei allen Versuchspersonen tritt bei Unterdruck, infolge der Hyperventilation der Lunge, stets "Akapnie" ein, 2) Wird bei Unterdruck Luft eingeatmet, welcher CO(2) zugesetzt wurde, so nimmt die Atembewegung und der CO(2)- und der O(2)-gehalt der Expirationsluft und der Alveolarluft zu. Der respiratorische Quotient aber bleibt unverandert. Dies führt natürlich zu einer Zunahme des CO(2)- und O(2)-gehaltes im Blut. Diese Sauerstoffzunahme im Blut ubt demnach u. E. einen gunstigen Einfluss auf die verschiedenen Symptome aus, die unter vermindertem Luftdruck entstehen

Hybridization gap formation in the Kondo insulator YbB observed using time-resolved photoemission spectroscopy
A detailed low-energy electronic structure of a Kondo insulator YbB
was revealed by a synergetic combination of ultrahigh-resolution laser
photoemission spectroscopy (PES) and time-resolved PES. The former confirmed a
25-meV pseudogap corresponding to the Kondo temperature of this material, and
more importantly, it revealed that a 15-meV gap and a Kondo-peak feature
developed below a crossover temperature K. In harmony with
this, the latter discovered a very long recombination time exceeding 100 ps
below . This is a clear manifestation of photoexcited carriers
due to the bottleneck in the recovery dynamics, which is interpreted as a

Unconventional thermal metallic state of charge-neutral fermions in an insulator
Quantum oscillations (QOs) in transport and thermodynamic parameters at high
magnetic fields are an unambiguous signature of the Fermi surface, the defining
characteristic of a metal. Therefore, recent observations of QOs in insulating
SmB and YbB, in particular the QOs of the resistivity in
YbB, have been a big surprise, pointing to the formation of a novel
state of quantum matter. Despite the large charge gap inferred from the
insulating behaviour of , these compounds seemingly host a Fermi
surface at high magnetic fields. However, the nature of the ground state in
zero field has been little explored. Here we report the use of low-temperature
heat-transport measurements to discover gapless, itinerant, charge-neutral
excitations in the ground state of YbB. At zero field, despite
being far larger than that of conventional metals, a sizable linear
temperature dependent term in the thermal conductivity is clearly resolved in
the zero-temperature limit
(). Such a residual
term at zero field, which is absent in SmB, leads to a
spectacular violation of the Wiedemann-Franz law: the Lorenz ratio
is - times larger than that expected
in conventional metals. These data indicate that YbB is a charge
insulator but a thermal metal, suggesting the presence of itinerant neutral
fermions. Remarkably, more insulating crystals with larger activation energies
exhibit a larger amplitude of the resistive QOs as well as a larger
, in stark contrast to conventional metals. Moreover, we find
that these fermions couple to magnetic field, despite their charge neutrality.
Our findings expose novel gapless and highly itinerant, charge-neutral
quasiparticles in this unconventional quantum state.Comment: 7 pages, 4 figures. This is the original submitted version. Final

Budget used by local government of Denpasar as an instrument of accountability in the area of ??financial management systems as well as basic public services. This research was conducted in the regional work units (SKPD) in Denpasar. This study aimed to examine the effect of budgetary participation on budgetary slack with distributive justice and organizational commitment as moderating. Methods of data collection in this study using survey method with a questionnaire measuring instrument. The number of samples in this study was 269 echelons of all SKPD in Denpasar chosen by purposive sampling technique. The analysis technique used is Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The results showed that the budgeting participation give positive influence on budgetary slack. Distributive justice able to weaken the effect of budgetary participation on budgetary slack. . Organizational commitment is also able to weaken the effect of budgetary participation on budgetary slack
Microfabrication and Application of Series-Connected PZT Elements
AbstractThis paper presents series-connected PZT elements that yield high output voltage, and also shows complete establishment in the fabrication process. Series-connected PZT elements are realized by connecting the upper electrode of a PZT element with the lower electrode of another PZT element. Sputtered PZT thin-film has perovskite crystalline structure and piezoelectric coefficients up to 40 pC/N. To avoid troublesome wet etching, the PZT films, the electrodes, and insulation layers are dry-etched. The all dry-etching process performs multilayer wiring of the electrodes. Evaluations for the PZT elements validates that the output voltage is the sum output voltage of each single element
