Orbital elements of barium stars formed through a wind accretion scenario
Taking the total angular momentum conservation in place of the tangential
momentum conservation, and considering the square and higher power terms of
orbital eccentricity e, the changes of orbital elements of binaries are
calculated for wind accretion scenario. These new equations are used to
quantitatively explain the observed (e,logP) properties of normal G, K giants
and barium stars. Our results reflect the evolution from G, K giant binaries to
barium binaries, moreover, the barium stars with longer orbital periods P>1600
days may be formed by accreting part of the ejecta from the intrinsic AGB stars

Magneto-optical characteristics of magnetic nanowire arrays in anodic aluminium oxide templates
Nanocomposite films consisting of regularly ordered iron nanowires embedded in anodic aluminum oxide templates have been fabricated and their magneto-optical properties studied by determining the four Stokes parameters of the transmitted laser beam (λ=670 nm), originally linearly polarized and at normal incidence to the film surfaces. The results of the nanowire arrays are found to be considerably different from that of bulk iron. While an increase in diameter of the nanowire leads to a substantial increase in the values of the Faraday rotation angles per unit length at a fixed value of the magnetic fields, they are substantially less than that of bulk iron, indicating that the effective media theory may not be directly applicable
Continuity of the Solution Maps for Generalized Parametric Set-Valued Ky Fan Inequality Problems
Under new assumptions, we provide suffcient conditions for the (upper and lower) semicontinuity and continuity of the solution mappings to a class of generalized parametric set-valued Ky Fan inequality problems in linear metric space. These results extend and improve some known results in the literature (e.g., Gong, 2008; Gong and Yoa, 2008; Chen and Gong, 2010; Li and Fang, 2010). Some examples are given to illustrate our results
Candidate MKiD nucleus 106Rh in triaxial relativistic mean-field approach with time-odd fields
The configuration-fixed constrained triaxial relativistic mean-field approach
is extended by including time-odd fields and applied to study the candidate
multiple chiral doublets (MKiD) nucleus 106Rh. The energy contribution from
time-odd fields and microscopical evaluation of center-of-mass correction as
well as the modification of triaxial deformation parameters beta, gamma due to
the time-odd fields are investigated. The contributions of the time-odd fields
to the total energy are 0.1-0.3 MeV and they modify slightly the gamma values.
