The tenth order mock theta functions revisited

In this paper we consider the first four of the eight identities between the tenth order mock theta functions, found in Ramanujan's lost notebook. These were originally proved by Choi. Here we give an alternative (much shorter) proof.Comment: 11 pages; preprint, submitted for publicatio

On an unified reduction formula for Srivastava's triple hypergeometric series F(3)[x, y, z]

Very recently, by applying the so-called Beta integral method to the Henrici’s triple product formula for the generalized hypergeometric series, Choi, et al.[Commun. Korean Math. Soc. 28(2013), No.2, pp. 297-301] have obtained an interesting reduction formula for the Srivastava’s triple hypergeometric series F⁽ᶟ⁾[x,y,z]. The aim of this short note is to provide a unified reduction formula for the Srivastava’s triple hyper geometric series from which as many new reduction formulas (including the one obtained by Choi, etal.) as desired can be deduced. A few interesing special cases have also been given

Growth and Yield of Pak Choi (Brassica rapa Subsp. Chinensis) in Responses to Leucaena Leaf-based Liquid Organic Fertilizer

The uses of liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) have been increasingly practiced in organic vegetable to increase the effectiveness of solid organic fertilizer application. Farmers can produce LOF by using locally available green biomass in the surrounding production areas, including leaves of Leucaena leucocephala (Lam) de Wit. This experiment aimed to determine the best concentration of Leucaena leaf-based LOF on growth and yield of Pak Choi (Brassica rapa Subsp. Chinensis). An experiment was arranged in Randomized Complete Design with seven replicates. Treatments are several concentrations of Leucaena leaf-based LOF, 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%.  Although, the concentration of 50% was likely able to increase shoot length, leaf area and leaf greenness of Pak Choi, but the effects of Leucaena leaf-based LOF on leaf numbers, shoot fresh weight, shoot dry weight, root fresh weight and root dry weight of Pak Choi were insignificant.  Consistency effects of Leucaena leaf-based LOF in the production of Pak Choi should be re-evaluate

Policy compass: FCM-based policy impact evaluation using public open data

    Get PDF
This paper presents how Fuzzy Cognitive Map (FCM) technique can be applied by a policy maker to support the policy impact evaluation using the example of Policy Compass, an EU research project. The practical usage example on interest rate policy shows the potential of FCMs as a policy impact modelling tool. Through the provision of a more intuitive and easier means of using open data based on FCM techniques, the Policy Compass project can play a critical role for both policy maker and lay public to evaluate the policy impact and prepare for future policy making

Does Health Insurance Status Affect Choice of Specialist?

Background: A demand-driven healthcare system has increasingly focused the importance of patient healthcare provider choice. Important reasons for promoting patient choice have been to reduce waiting times and to encourage competition between providers. This study aimed to determine the effect of health insurance status on the choice of specialist. Subjects and Method: This was a case control study conducted at Sangkrah community health center, Surakarta, in January 2017. A sample of 164 mothers was selected by fixed disease sampling. The dependent variable was mother’s choice to visit a pediatrician. The independent variables were membership of the national health insurance, perceived benefit, perceived barrier, perceived severity, and family income. The data were collected by questionnaire and analyzed by a multiple linear regression. Results: Mother’s choice to visit a pediatrician was positively affected by perceived benefit (b= 0.89; 95% CI= 1.24 to 4.8; p= 0.009) and perceived seriousness (b= 0.92; 95% CI= 1.18 to 5.32; p= 0.016), but was negatively affected by perceived barrier (b= -0.77; 95% CI= 0.23 to 0.91; p= 0.026) and low family income (b= -0.66; 95% CI= 0.9 to 3.6; p= 0.067). The effect of health insurance member¬ship on mother’s choice to visit a pediatrician was statistically non significant. Conclusion: The effect of health insurance membership on mother’s choice to visit a pediatrician is statistically non significant. Mother’s choice to visit a pediatrician is positively affected by perceived benefit and perceived seriousness, but is negatively affected by perceived barrier and low family income.
