    Get PDF
AbstractPartial Discharge (PD) happened in GIS may induce the failure of the apparatus and endanger the safety of the grid. Detection of PD with UHF sensor can find the defect earlier. In this a paper, a de-noising method based on the wavelet method is introduced to improve the accuracy of PD detection. The general wavelet de-nosing procedures are described in the paper, after that, the proposed algorithm is demonstrated by a field test

Optimization design for ultrasonic horn with large amplitude based on genetic algorithm

    Get PDF
With the functions of amplitude amplification, impedance matching and protecting the transducer in ultrasonic machining system, ultrasonic horn is an important component in design of power ultrasonic vibration system. A new horn with large amplitude is designed. The profile of the horn is a cubic Bezier Curve. Based on genetic algorithm, the horn with large vibration amplitude ratio was obtained by optimizing the control points at the starting point and the end point of Bezier Curve. Simulation comparison was also carried out on the vibration performances of other four kinds of horns. Bezier horn and conical horn were manufactured by numerical control (NC) technology, in addition, measurement and comparison were carried out on their performances by combining with a vibrator. Results show that the amplitude of the optimized Bezier horn is 73.5 % larger than that of conical horn. Under the excitation voltage of 200 Vp-p, the amplitude of the Bezier horn can reach 108 µm

In the title compound, (C12H12N2)[Ta2F10O], the doubly protonated 5,6-dihydro-1,10-phenantroline-1,10-diium cation is located on a twofold rotation axis, whereas the isolated [Ta2OF10]2− dianion has -1 symmetry. In the so far unknown dianion, the symmetry-related TaV atoms are octahedrally coordinated by five F atoms and a bridging O atom, the latter being located on an inversion centre. The two pyridine rings in the cation make a dihedral angle of 22.8 (4)°. The cations and dianions are arranged in layers parallel to (100) and are connected through N—H⋯F and C—H⋯F hydrogen-bonding interactions into a three-dimensional structure

Iohexol Degradation by Biogenic Palladium Nanoparticles Hosted in Anaerobic Granular Sludge

    Get PDF
To improve the degradation ability of anaerobic granular sludge (AGS) toward the iodinated contrast media (ICM) iohexol, biogenic nanoscale palladium (Pd) was formed in AGS via microbial reduction. The Pd hosted in AGS (Pd-AGS) was used for iohexol degradation. The effects of the electron donor, reaction medium, iodide ion fouling, and polymer embedding of the Pd-AGS on the reactivity were investigated. Our results showed the Pd-AGS increased the degradation rate of iohexol, with a conversion rate constant increased by 86.3-fold compared to the AGS control. Various organic compounds were investigated as electron donors to initiate the catalytic activity of Pd-AGS and the promotion achieved with the tested electron donors was in the following order: formate > lactate > ethanol > glucose > acetate. The Pd-AGS had high reactivity in deionized water at mild pH, and almost no reactivity under acidic (pH = 1.2) and alkaline (pH > 11) conditions. The presence of iodide ions in the medium inhibited the catalytic activity of Pd-AGS toward iohexol because of catalyst fouling. Embedding the Pd-AGS in alginate, chitosan, or polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) could prevent Pd loss but it also retarded the iohexol degradation rate. The Pd-AGS, as a combination of Pd catalyst and AGS, provides a novel strategy for iohexol degradation in polluted water and wastewater

Apoptosis plays an important role in embryonic development. PNAS-4 has been demonstrated to induce apoptosis in several cancer cells. In this study, we cloned Xenopus laevis PNAS-4 (xPNAS-4), which is homologous to the human PNAS-4 gene. Bioinformatics analysis for PNAS-4 indicated that xPNAS-4 shared 87.6% identity with human PNAS-4 and 85.5% with mouse PNAS-4. The phylogenetic tree of PNAS-4 protein was also summarized. An analysis of cellular localization using an EGFP-fused protein demonstrated that xPNAS-4 was localized in the perinuclear region of the cytoplasm. RT-PCR analysis revealed that xPNAS-4, as a maternally expressed gene, was present in all stages of early embryo development. Whole-mount in situ hybridization showed that xPNAS-4 was mainly expressed in ectoderm and mesoderm. Furthermore, microinjection of xPNAS-4 mRNA in vivo caused developmental defects manifesting as a small eye phenotype in the Xenopous embryos, and as a small eye or one-eye phenotype in developing zebrafish embryos. In addition, embryos microinjected with xPNAS-4 antisense morpholino oligonucleotides (MOs) exhibited a failure of head development and shortened axis

A marine reservoir correction for the Houtman-Abrolhos Archipelago, East Indian Ocean, Western Australia

High-precision analysis using accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS) was performed upon known-age Holocene and modern, pre-bomb coral samples to generate a marine reservoir age correction value (ΔR) for the Houtman-Abrolhos Archipelago (28.7°S, 113.8°E) off the Western Australian coast. The mean ΔR value calculated for the Abrolhos Islands, 54 ± 30 yr (1σ) agrees well with regional ΔR values for Leeuwin Current source waters (N-NW Australia-Java) of 60 ± 38 yr. The Abrolhos Islands show little variation with ΔR values of the northwestern and north Australian coast, underlining the dominance of the more equilibrated western Pacific-derived waters of the Leeuwin Current over local upwelling. The Abrolhos Islands ΔR values have remained stable over the last 2896 cal yr BP, being also attributed to the Leeuwin Current and the El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO) signal during this period. Expected future trends will be a strengthening of the teleconnection of the Abrolhos Islands to the climatic patterns of the equatorial Pacific via enhanced ENSO and global warming activity strengthening the Leeuwin Current. The possible effect upon the trend of future ΔR values may be to maintain similar values and an increase in stability. However, warming trends of global climate change may cause increasing dissimilarity of ΔR values due to the effects of increasing heat stress upon lower-latitude coral communities

Effects of maternal enflurane exposure on NR2B expression in the hippocampus of their offspring

The cognitive function of the offspring is impaired when maternal rats are exposed to enflurane during early pregnancy. A possible mechanism of this effect is related to the down-regulation of NR2B expression
