Willingness to continue with their educational work represents the extent of attitude and willingness of preschool teachers to accept their occupation and be willing to continue with their work, which is not only concerned with the development of preschool teachers themselves, but also imposes a far-reaching influence on the stability of preschool teachers and the development of rural preschool education. This study explores the extent of rural kindergarten teachers’ willingness to continue with their educational work and their willingness to take teaching as a lifelong career, as well as influencing factors in respect thereof by means of literature analysis, questionnaire survey and interview. The research suggests that rural kindergarten teachers hold a relatively strong willingness to continue with their educational work, while their willingness to take teaching as a lifelong career is comparatively weak. Significant dimensional differences are observed in terms of age, teaching age, marital status and incorporation into the official staffing in respect of rural preschool teachers’ willingness to be devoted for a lifelong educational work, wherein it turns out that the older they are, the stronger their willingness to be engaged in a lifelong educational work is; the longer their teaching age is, the stronger their willingness to be engaged in a lifelong educational work is; married teachers are more willing to be engaged in a lifelong educational work than those who are merely in love or remain single; teachers unincorporated into the official staffing are more willing to be engaged in a lifelong educational work than those incorporated thereinto. The willingness of preschool teachers to continue to be engaged in the education sector is influenced by their own factors as well as external and objective factors. Finally, some suggestions are brought forward in this paper to address the above-mentioned problems: first of all, pre-service training is to be conducted to enhance professional self-identity; secondly, emphasis should be laid on humanistic care to increase job satisfaction; thirdly, welfare and treatment for teachers are to be elevated to reinforce professional attraction; and finally, more social support is to be given to gain respect and recognition towards preschool teachers

Poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) [P(3HB)] and poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate) [P(3HB-co-3HV)] are produced by various microorganisms as an intracellular carbon and energy reserve from agricultural feedstocks such as sugars and plant oils under unbalanced growth conditions. P(3HB) and P(3HB-co-3HV) have attracted the attention of academia and industry because of its biodegradability, biocompatibility, thermoplasticity, and plastic-like properties. This review first introduced the isodimorphism, spherulites, and molecular interaction of P(3HB) and P(3HB-co-3HV). In addition, the effects of 3HV content on the melting temperature and crystallization rate were discussed. Then the drawbacks of P(3HB) and P(3HB-co-3HV) including brittleness, narrow melt processing window, low crystallization rate, slow biodegradation rate in body, and so on were summarized. At last, the preparation, structure, and properties of P(3HB) and P(3HB-co-3HV) fiber were introduced

Target Recognition Based on Fuzzy Dempster Data Fusion Method

    Get PDF
Data fusion technology is widely used in automatic target recognition system. Problems in data fusion system are complex by nature and can often be characterised by not only randomness but also by fuzziness. To accommodate complex natural problems with both types of uncertainties, it is profitable to construct a data fusion structure based on fuzzy set theory and Dempster Shafer evidence theory. In this paper, after representing both, the individual attribute of target in the model database and the sensor observation or report as fuzzy membership function, a likelihood function was constructed to deal with fuzzy data collected by each sensor. The method to determine basic probability assignments of each sensor report is proposed. Sensor reports are fused through classical Dempster combination rule. A numerical example is illustrated to show the target recognition application of the fuzzy-Dempster approach.Defence Science Journal, 2010, 60(5), pp.525-530, DOI:http://dx.doi.org/10.14429/dsj.60.57

Parameter Estimation for Partial Differential Equations by Collage-Based Numerical Approximation

    Get PDF
The inverse problem of using measurements to estimate unknown parameters of a system often arises in engineering practice and scientific research. This paper proposes a Collage-based parameter inversion framework for a class of partial differential equations. The Collage method is used to convert the parameter estimation inverse problem into a minimization problem of a function of several variables after the partial differential equation is approximated by a differential dynamical system. Then numerical schemes for solving this minimization problem are proposed, including grid approximation and ant colony optimization. The proposed schemes are applied to a parameter estimation problem for the Belousov-Zhabotinskii equation, and the results show that the proposed approximation method is efficient for both linear and nonlinear partial differential equations with respect to unknown parameters. At worst, the presented method provides an excellent starting point for traditional inversion methods that must first select a good starting point

The method of scaling is adopted to study the relation between emotional tropism (consisting of positive and negative affective variables), emotional expressivity and mental health by doing questionnaires from 263 college students in Chongqing City. The differences test shows that: (a) Males express more negative affect than females and are not as good as women in expressing their feelings, but no significant gender differences in positive affect and feeling of happiness is observed; and freshmen share more feeling of happiness than seniors, but no significant differences between grades in their expression of positive or negative affect and emotions are observed; (b) Correlation analysis shows that feeling of happiness and other positive affect have significant negative correlation with most of the psychological symptom factors, while negative affect have significant positive correlation with all the psychological symptom factors; and emotional expressivity shows significant negative correlation with interpersonal sensitivity, hostility, depression, anxiety and other factors; (c) Regression analysis further shows that negative affect exerts significant regression effect on obsession, interpersonal relationship, depression, anxiety, hostility, bigotry and other factors, and emotional expression exerts regression effect on interpersonal sensitivity, hostility, depression, anxiety and other factors

The Paradoxical Effects of COVID-19 Event Strength on Employee Turnover Intention

As a global pandemic, the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has brought enormous challenges to employees and organizations. Although numerous existing studies have highlighted that the COVID-19 pandemic is a stressful event and empirically proved its detrimental effect on employee turnover intention, few scholars have noted that this pandemic can deteriorate the external economic and employment environment simultaneously, which may further complicate employees’ intentions to leave or stay in the current organization. Drawing on event system theory and social cognitive theory, this study aims to uncover two potential cognitive mechanisms of the complex impact of COVID-19 event strength on employee turnover intention. To examine the proposed model, this study employed a three-wave and time-lagged research design and collected data from a sample of 432 employees of four Chinese companies from different industries. The findings indicated that COVID-19 event strength was negatively related to perceived external employability, and ultimately curbed employee turnover intention. Yet, COVID-19 event strength also negatively predicted perceived organizational growth, thus influencing employees to exhibit intentions to quit. Moreover, organizational identification not only attenuated the positive effect of perceived external employability on turnover intention but also amplified the negative impact of perceived organizational growth on turnover intention. Further, organizational identification moderated the indirect effects of COVID-19 event strength on turnover intention through perceived external employability and perceived organizational growth. This study provided a comprehensive insight into scholars’ understanding of the COVID-19 downstream outcomes
