Bootstrapping Multi-view Representations for Fake News Detection
Previous researches on multimedia fake news detection include a series of
complex feature extraction and fusion networks to gather useful information
from the news. However, how cross-modal consistency relates to the fidelity of
news and how features from different modalities affect the decision-making are
still open questions. This paper presents a novel scheme of Bootstrapping
Multi-view Representations (BMR) for fake news detection. Given a multi-modal
news, we extract representations respectively from the views of the text, the
image pattern and the image semantics. Improved Multi-gate Mixture-of-Expert
networks (iMMoE) are proposed for feature refinement and fusion.
Representations from each view are separately used to coarsely predict the
fidelity of the whole news, and the multimodal representations are able to
predict the cross-modal consistency. With the prediction scores, we reweigh
each view of the representations and bootstrap them for fake news detection.
Extensive experiments conducted on typical fake news detection datasets prove
that the proposed BMR outperforms state-of-the-art schemes.Comment: Authors are from Fudan University, China. Under Revie
Design of GMSK Frequency Hopping Modulation Scheme Based on FPGA
An FPGA-based GMSK frequency hopping modulation scheme is designed. The design of the frequency hopping module is added to modulation scheme, and used the digital implementation of GMSK modulation. The pre-encoded symbols are first processed by a Gaussian filter and then sent to a phase accumulator to calculate the accumulated phase. The accumulated phase is summed with the phase generated by frequency-hopping carriers of frequency hopping module to obtain the total phase, and finally we use the CORDIC algorithm to perform the cosine operation on the total phase to realize the GMSK frequency hopping modulation of the signal. This scheme is implemented on the FPGA. After testing and verification, this scheme can realize the frequency hopping function of the system. The design of the phase accumulator ensures the phase continuity of GMSK signal, and the CORDIC algorithm eliminates a large number of multiplication operations. The hardware implementation is simpler and improves the feasibility of the scheme
A Kernel-space POF virtual switch
Protocol Oblivious Forwarding (POF) aims at providing a standard southbound interface for sustainable Software Defined Networking (SDN) evolvement. It overcomes the limitations of popular Open Flow protocols (an existing widely-adopted southbound interface), through the enhancement of SDN forwarding plane. This paper pioneers the design and implementation of a Kernel-space POF Virtual Switch (K_POFVS) on Linux platform. K_POFVS can improve the packet processing speed, through fast packet forwarding and the capability of adding/deleting/modifying protocol fields in kernel space. In addition, it is able to enhance flow table matching speed, by separating the mask table (consisting of flow entry masks used to figure out the matching field) and the flow table under a caching mechanism. Furthermore, K_POFVS can achieve efficient communication between the kernel space and the user space, via extending the Netlink communication between them. Experimental results show that K_POFVS can provide much better performance than existing user-space POF virtual switches, in terms of packet forwarding delay, packet processing delay and packet transmission rateThis work is partially supported by the National Program on Key Basic Research Project of China (973

Single-photon emission from isolated monolayer islands of InGaN
We identify and characterize a novel type of quantum emitter formed from InGaN monolayer islands grown using molecular beam epitaxy and further isolated via the fabrication of an array of nanopillar structures. Detailed optical analysis of the characteristic emission spectrum from the monolayer islands is performed, and the main transmission is shown to act as a bright, stable, and fast single-photon emitter with a wavelength of ~400 nm. © 2020, The Author(s)
Heritable Targeted Inactivation of Myostatin Gene in Yellow Catfish (Pelteobagrus fulvidraco) Using Engineered Zinc Finger Nucleases
Yellow catfish (Pelteobagrus fulvidraco) is one of the most important freshwater aquaculture species in China. However, its small size and lower meat yield limit its edible value. Myostatin (MSTN) is a negative regulator of mammalian muscle growth. But, the function of Mstn in fish remains elusive. To explore roles of mstn gene in fish growth and create a strain of yellow catfish with high amount of muscle mass, we performed targeted disruption of mstn in yellow catfish using engineered zinc-finger nucleases (ZFNs). Employing zebrafish embryos as a screening system to identify ZFN activity, we obtained one pair of ZFNs that can edit mstn in yellow catfish genome. Using the ZFNs, we successfully obtained two founders (Founder July29-7 and Founder July29-8) carrying mutated mstn gene in their germ cells. The mutated mstn allele inherited from Founder July29-7 was a null allele (mstnnju6) containing a 4 bp insertion, predicted to encode function null Mstn. The mutated mstn inherited from Founder July29-8 was a complex type of mutation (mstnnju7), predicted to encode a protein lacking two amino acids in the N-terminal secretory signal of Mstn. Totally, we obtained 6 mstnnju6/+ and 14 mstnnju7/+ yellow catfish. To our best knowledge, this is the first endogenous gene knockout in aquaculture fish. Our result will help in understanding the roles of mstn gene in fish
