The aim of this note is to adapt the strategy in [4][See,B.Dodson, J.Murphy, a new proof of scattering below the ground state for the 3D radial focusing cubic NLS, arXiv:1611.04195 ] to prove the scattering of radial solutions below sharp threshold for certain focusing fractional NLS with cubic nonlinearity. The main ingredient is to apply the fractional virial identity proved in [11][See,T.Boulenger, D.Himmelsbach,E.Lenzmann, Blow up for fractional NLS,J.Func.Anal,271(2016),2569-2603] to exclude the concentration of mass near the origin.Comment: This version is an extension of the last version by the first and fourth author, where the dimensional case d=3d=3 is treate

Flow Stability Model for Fan/Compressors with Annular Duct and Novel Casing Treatment

    Get PDF
AbstractA three-dimensional compressible flow stability model is presented in this paper, which focuses on stall inception of multi-stage axial flow compressors with a finite large radius annular duct configuration for the first time. It is shown that under some assumptions, the stability equation can be obtained yielding from a group of homogeneous equations. The stability can be judged by the non-dimensional imaginary part of the resultant complex frequency eigenvalue. Further more, based on the analysis of the unsteady phenomenon caused by casing treatment, the function of casing treatment has been modeled by a wall impedance condition which is included in the stability model through the eigenvalues and the corresponding eigenfunctions of the system. Finally, some experimental investigation and two numerical evaluation cases are conducted to validate this model and emphasis is placed on numerically studying the sensitivity of the setup of different boundary conditions on the stall inception of axial flow fan/compressors. A novel casing treatment which consists of a backchamber and a perforated plate is suggested, and it is noted that the open area ratio of the casing treatment is less than 10%, and is far smaller than conventional casing treatment with open area ratio of over 50%, which could result in stall margin improvement without obvious efficiency loss of fan/compressors

Objective: To construct prokaryotic expression vector of Amuc_1100 gene, the ELP (ELSTIN-LIKE PROTEIN) is used as purification label to express fusion with the target protein and detect the biological activity of recombinant protein at cell level and animal level. Methods: the recombinant plasmid pET28a-Amuc_1100-ELP is designed and synthesized, and transformed into e. coli competent cell bl21 (de3) to induce expression. The recombinant egg was isolated and purified by the reversible phase change cycling (ITC) characteristic of ELP10 white. At the cellular level, PBMCs cells from mice were extracted to detect the expression level of IL-10. At the animal level, obese mice induced by gastric gavage with high fat detected the improvement effect of the protein on mouse metabolism. Results: The recombinant protein with the expected molecular weight of 60 kDa was expressed by E.coli expression system. After circulating through ITC, the recombinant protein with high purity was obtained. The protein increased the expression level of IL-10 in PBMCs cells, and significantly improved the obesity and metabolic disorders induced by high-fat diet in mice. Conclusion: The recombinant protein expression plasmid pET28a-Amuc_1100-ELP was successfully constructed. After expression and purification, the recombinant protein expression plasmid has high purity and has 15 biologically active recombinant protein. This study laid a foundation for the industrial production and clinical application of Amuc_1100

Model shape correction method for high-frequency force balance technique

    Get PDF
This study proposed the mode shape correction formulae for the high frequency force balance technique. The presented formulae respectively give the mode shape for translational modes and torsional modes, meaning that there is no need to distinguish the traditionally concerned along wind case and cross-wind case anymore. This treatment makes the mode shape correction much simpler especially when wind blows to a building obliquely. Comparison with some experimental results of other researchers shows the reliability of the proposed formulae. The mode coupling effect is also analyzed and discussed through an actual super-tall building, the Guangzhou East Tower. The results show that the mode shape coupling effect is significant and cannot be ignored

Thesis (Ph. D.)--Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Dept. of Architecture, 2007.Includes bibliographical references (p. 175-182).With the rapid growth of digital art, the temporal dimension is becoming a more and more important aspect of visual creations. This thesis is an effort to contribute to the construction of a disciplined basis for the composition of visual creations along the temporal dimension. It studies new perceptual phenomena and compositional issues introduced by temporal visual composition; it proposes and develops a set theory-based composition approach; it also presents the applications of this approach in compositional experiments at different levels of abstraction. As another aspect of contributing to the temporal visual composition research, this thesis designs and develops a temporal visual composition interface and a system for color generation and manipulation based on spectral information. This interface and system serve as an indispensable support for the composition experiments in this study. They also present to artists a new level of control over both graphical materials and the composition process. Furthermore, they suggest new creative potentials in temporal art.by Xiaohua Sun.Ph.D

Thesis (S.M.)--Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Dept. of Architecture, 2002.Includes bibliographical references (p. 63-67).This thesis is proposing a research direction of using computation to help people fully take advantage of spatial cognition in thinking process. As our most important form of information processing spatial cognition provides thinking what logical and verbal means are inferior at. But without external aid, its application is tremendously constrained. Computation could play a role in circumventing those constraints and bridging out the strength of spatial cognition in thinking process. This could augment our of thinking ability and reform our mind.by Xiaohua Sun.S.M

Investigation on Impedance Chip Muffler Performance

AbstractNowadays it is quite significant to control the noise generated from the fan, air conditioning and air flow, as well as to reduce the noise pressure level. The chip mufflers have been widely used for its advantages of large air volume and high amount of noise elimination. The method adopted in our study is comparison. Before determining the muffler insertion loss, we should do the controlled experiment without the muffler, then we use the muffler to replace the duct for the experiment. So we can obtain the insertion loss by measuring the noise level in the two different conditions. Attention should be paid to the noise conditions and the main duct speed which should remain the same in the whole experiment process. By measuring, calculating and analyzing the insertion loss of the chip mufflers with different silencing cotton density under different main duct speed, verifying that the muffler have a very good silencing effectiveness for the high and intermediate frequency noise, reaching the quadratic relationship between noise elimination and silencing cotton density which is beneficial to optimize the chip muffler performance in the future

Anesthesia and Post-mortem Interval Profoundly Influence the Regulatory Serine Phosphorylation of Glycogen Synthase Kinase-3 in Mouse Brain

    Get PDF
Glycogen synthase kinase-3 (GSK3) is a crucial enzyme contributing to the regulation of neuronal structure, plasticity and survival, is implicated as a contributory factor in prevalent diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease and mood disorders and is regulated by a wide range of signaling systems and pharmacological agents. Therefore, factors regulating GSK3 in vivo are currently of much interest. GSK3 is inhibited by phosphorylation of serine-9 or serine-21 in GSK3β and GSK3α, respectively. This study found that accurate measurements of phospho-Ser-GSK3 in brain are confounded by a rapid post-mortem dephosphorylation, with ~90% dephosphorylation of both GSK3 isoforms occurring within 2 min post-mortem. Furthermore, three anesthetics, pentobarbital, halothane and chloral hydrate, each caused large in vivo increases in the serine phosphorylation of both GSK3β and GSK3α in several regions of mouse brain. Thus, studies of the phosphorylation state of GSK3 in brain, and perhaps in other tissues, need to take into account post-mortem changes and the effects of anesthetics and there is a direct correlation between anesthesia and high levels of serine-phosphorylated GSK3
