    Get PDF
Metal/nitrogen-doped carbons (M−N−C) are promising candidates as oxygen electrocatalysts due to their low cost, tunable catalytic activity and selectivity, and well-dispersed morphologies. To improve the electrocatalytic performance of such systems, it is critical to gain a detailed understanding of their structure and properties through advanced characterization. In situ X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) serves as a powerful tool to probe both the active sites and structural evolution of catalytic materials under reaction conditions. In this review, we firstly provide an overview of the fundamental concepts of XAS and then comprehensively review the setup and application of in situ XAS, introducing electrochemical XAS cells, experimental methods, as well as primary functions on catalytic applications. The active sites and the structural evolution of M−N−C catalysts caused by the interplay with electric fields, electrolytes and reactants/intermediates during the oxygen evolution reaction and the oxygen reduction reaction are subsequently discussed in detail. Finally, major challenges and future opportunities in this exciting field are highlighted.</p

IntroductionLiver cancer is one of the most common malignant gastrointestinal tumors worldwide. This study intends to provide insight into the epidemiological characteristics and development trends of liver cancer incidence and mortality from 2010 to 2020 in Guangzhou, China.MethodsData were collected from the Cancer Registry and Reporting Office of Guangzhou Center for Disease Control and Prevention. Cross-sectional study, Joinpoint regression (JPR) model, and Age-Period-Cohort (APC) model were conducted to analyze the age-standardized incidence rate (ASIR) and age-standardized mortality rate (ASMR) trend of liver cancer among the entire study period.ResultsThe age-standardized incidence and mortality of liver cancer in Guangzhou showed an overall decreasing trend. The disparity in risk of morbidity and mortality between the two sexes for liver cancer is increasing. The cohort effect was the most significant among those born in 1965~1969, and the risk of liver cancer incidence and mortality in the total population increased and then decreased with the birth cohort. Compared with the birth cohort born in 1950~1954 (the reference cohort), the risk of liver cancer incidence and mortality in the males born in 1995~1999 decreased by 32% and 41%, respectively, while the risk in the females decreased by 31% and 32%, respectively.ConclusionsThe early detection, prevention, clinical diagnosis, and treatment of liver cancer in Guangzhou have made remarkable achievements in recent years. However, the risk of liver cancer in the elderly and the middle-aged males is still at a high level. Therefore, the publicity of knowledge related to the prevention and treatment of liver cancer among the relevant population groups should be actively carried out to enhance the rate of early diagnosis and treatment of liver cancer and to advocate a healthier lifestyle

THE DETERMINNATION OF RESIDUAL STRESS OF GEAR TOOTH ROOT BASED ON X-RAY TECHNOLOGY

    No full text
Transverse residual stress of tooth root has significant influence on bending fatigue strength of gears. But given the geometry of gears, using the method of exposing teeth root to complete determination of transverse residual stress at present,it not only destroys the original stress state of material surface, but conflicts with the concept of residual stress measurement by Xray nondestructive.so in order to do not cut gears, which can also more accurately measure transverse residual stress of the gear tooth root,in this paper, through combining with the theoretical analysis and experimental verification method, the relationship of transverse and longitudinal residual stress of the gear tooth root is derived. With the known of Bragg Angle of free stress— θ0,the transverse residual stress of Gear tooth root can be calculated by the size of the longitudinal residual stress through the X-ray method measured,so it is convenient to measure the transverse residual stress of gear tooth root

A time synchronization method of Wireless Sensor Networks based on the simulated annealing algorithm

    No full text
Time synchronization is very important for a Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). In this paper, we introduce a new method of time synchronization for WSNs based on the simulated annealing algorithm which is endowed with the search process of a time-varying and can effectively avoid falling into the local minimum and finally tends to the global optimum. Errors between the global time and prediction time are used as the evaluation function from which we can obtain more stable time synchronization. Our method is implemented on SCSC-RFA1 platform and the results show the validity of the method

Severe cytokine release syndrome induced by immune checkpoint inhibitors in cancer patients – A case report and review of the literature

    No full text
Cytokine release syndrome (CRS) can be induced by immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs). Although the incidence of CRS is low, it is often underreported. Here, we report two severe CRS cases and summarize and review 51 patients with ICI-induced CRS to explore the possible contributing factors to the disease prognosis and provide assistance for therapy. Our analysis found that the population with ICI-induced CRS consists mainly of male patients with an average age of 61.74 years. The primary malignant tumor type was lung cancer, and the clinical stage of most patients was stage IV. Notably, patients who experience a longer time to CRS onset, higher IL-6 levels, and lower platelet counts may be more likely to develop severe CRS. Cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, and coagulation toxicities are more common in higher-grade CRS and may serve as markers for patient experiencing ICU admission, oxygen supplementation, hypotension, high-dose vasopressors usage, and intubation

Bioinformatics Analysis and Validation of the Role of <i>Lnc-RAB11B-AS1</i> in the Development and Prognosis of Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Lnc-RAB11B-AS1 is reported to be dysregulated in several types of cancers and can function as both an oncogene and tumor suppressor gene. To evaluate the potential role of lnc-RAB11B-AS1 in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), we investigated and evaluated its expression in HCC based on the data mining of a series of public databases, including TCGA, GEO, ICGC, HPA, DAVID, cBioPortal, GeneMIANA, TIMER, and ENCORI. The data showed downregulation of lnc-RAB11B-AS1 in HCC and was accompanied by the synchronous downregulation of the targeted RAB11B mRNA and its protein. Low expression of lnc-RAB11B-AS1 was associated with shorter overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS) of HCC patients, PD1/PD-L1 was correlated with low expression of RAB11B. Furthermore, Gene Ontology (GO) functional annotation and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway enrichment analysis showed a correlation between immune cell change and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. The above findings revealed that lnc-RAB11B-AS1 was down-regulated in HCC and closely associated with the clinical stage of the HCC patients, suggesting that lnc-RAB11B-AS1 could be a possible predictor for HCC and a potential new therapeutic target for the treatment of HCC

The Tribological Behavior of Cast Iron by Laser Surface Texturing under Oil-Lubricated Initial Line Contact for Rotary Compressor

    No full text
The tribological behaviors of cast iron by laser surface texturing were experimentally compared with the behavior of untextured by unidirectional rotary sliding friction and wear tests under oil-lubricated initial line contact. The friction coefficient and temperature rise were analyzed with the increasing load applied by block-on-ring tests. In addition, the wear loss and wear mechanism were also investigated through the surface topographies analysis. The results showed that the tribological improvement strongly depended on the contact form. For the oil-lubricated initial line contact in this work, the textured surface showed a better frictional advantage with a lower friction coefficient and lower temperature rise. The hydrodynamic effect enhanced the load-carrying capacity of the oil film and increased the film thickness. The friction coefficients were 11~64% lower than those on the untextured one. Meanwhile, the textured surface deteriorated the wear behavior due to the coupling effect between the micro-cutting effect of the texture edges and the material deformations of the counter surface. The material loss induced by abrasive wear and fatigue wear was the dominant wear mechanism. Namely, the laser surface texturing improved the friction properties but reduced the wear resistance

A Mixed Property-Based Automatic Shadow Detection Approach for VHR Multispectral Remote Sensing Images

    No full text
Shadows in very high-resolution multispectral remote sensing images hinder many applications, such as change detection, target recognition, and image classification. Though a wide variety of significant research has explored shadow detection, shadow pixels are still more or less omitted and are wrongly confused with vegetation pixels in some cases. In this study, to further manage the problems of shadow omission and vegetation misclassification, a mixed property-based shadow index is developed for detecting shadows in very high-resolution multispectral remote sensing images based on the difference of the hue component and the intensity component between shadows and nonshadows, and the difference of the reflectivity of the red band and the near infrared band between shadows and vegetation cover in nonshadows. Then, the final shadow mask is achieved, with an optimal threshold automatically obtained from the index image histogram. To validate the effectiveness of our approach for shadow detection, three test images are selected from the multispectral WorldView-3 images of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and are tested with our method. When compared with other investigated standard shadow detection methods, the resulting images produced by our method deliver a higher average overall accuracy (95.02%) and a better visual sense. The highly accurate data show the efficacy and stability of the proposed approach in appropriately detecting shadows and correctly classifying shadow pixels against the vegetation pixels for very high-resolution multispectral remote sensing images

Characterization and functional analysis of chicken CDK protein

ABSTRACT: The family of cell cycle-dependent kinases (CDKs) serves as catalytic subunits within protein kinase complexes, playing a crucial role in cell cycle progression. While the function of CDK proteins in regulating mammalian innate immune responses and virus replication is well-documented, their role in chickens remains unclear. To address this, we cloned several chicken CDKs, specifically CDK6 through CDK10. We observed that CDK6 is widely expressed across various chicken tissues, with localization in the cytoplasm, nucleus, or both in DF-1 cells. In addition, we also found that multiple chicken CDKs negatively regulate IFN-β signaling induced by chicken MAVS or chicken STING by targeting different steps. Moreover, during infection with infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV), various chicken CDKs, except CDK10, were recruited and co-localized with viral protein VP1. Interestingly, overexpression of CDK6 in chickens significantly enhanced IBDV replication. Conversely, knocking down CDK6 led to a marked increase in IFN-β production, triggered by chMDA5. Furthermore, targeting endogenous CDK6 with RNA interference substantially reduced IBDV replication. These findings collectively suggest that chicken CDKs, particularly CDK6, act as suppressors of IFN-β production and play a facilitative role in IBDV replication
