Kosterlitz-Thouless phase transition and reentrance in an anisotropic 3-state Potts model on the generalized Kagome lattice

The unusual reentrant phenomenon is observed in the anisotropic 3-state Potts model on a gen- eralized Kagome lattice. By employing the linearized tensor renormalization group method, we find that the reentrance can appear in the region not only under a partial ordered phase as commonly known but also a phase without a local order parameter, which is uncovered to fall into the uni- versality of the Kosterlitz-Thouless (KT) type. The region of the reentrance depends strongly on the ratios of the next nearest couplings {\alpha} = J2 /|J1 | and {\beta} = J3 /|J1 |. The phase diagrams in the plane of temperature versus {\beta} for different {\alpha} are obtained. Through massive calculations, it is also revealed that the quasi-entanglement entropy can be used to accurately detect the KT transition temperature

A New Method to Calculate Electromagnetic Impedance Matching Degree in One-Layer Microwave Absorbers

A delta-function method was proposed to quantitatively evaluate the electromagnetic impedance matching degree. Measured electromagnetic parameters of {\alpha}-Fe/Fe3B/Y2O3 nanocomposites are applied to calculate the matching degree by the method. Compared with reflection loss and quarter-wave principle theory, the method accurately reveals the intrinsic mechanism of microwave transmission and reflection properties. A possible honeycomb structure with promising high-performance microwave absorption according to the method is also proposed.Comment: 13 pages, 3 figure

Study of On-Ramp PI Controller Based on Dural Group QPSO with Different Well Centers Algorithm

A novel quantum-behaved particle swarm optimization (QPSO) algorithm, dual-group QPSO with different well centers (DWC-QPSO) algorithm, is proposed by constructing the master-slave subswarms. The new algorithm was applied in the parameter optimization of on-ramp traffic PI controller combining with nonlinear feedback theory. With the critical information contained in the searching space and results of the basic QPSO algorithm, this algorithm avoids the rapid disappearance of swarm diversity and enhances the global searching ability through collaboration between subswarms. Experiment results on an on-ramp traffic control simulation show that DWC-QPSO can be well applied in the study of on-ramp traffic PI controller and the comparison results illustrate that DWC-QPSO outperforms other evolutionary algorithms with enhancement in both adaptability and stability

Fuzzy Constrained Predictive Optimal Control of High Speed Train with Actuator Dynamics

    Get PDF
We investigate the problem of fuzzy constrained predictive optimal control of high speed train considering the effect of actuator dynamics. The dynamics feature of the high speed train is modeled as a cascade of cars connected by flexible couplers, and the formulation is mathematically transformed into a Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model. The goal of this study is to design a state feedback control law at each decision step to enhance safety, comfort, and energy efficiency of high speed train subject to safety constraints on the control input. Based on Lyapunov stability theory, the problem of optimizing an upper bound on the cruise control cost function subject to input constraints is reduced to a convex optimization problem involving linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Furthermore, we analyze the influences of second-order actuator dynamics on the fuzzy constrained predictive controller, which shows risk of potentially deteriorating the overall system. Employing backstepping method, an actuator compensator is proposed to accommodate for the influence of the actuator dynamics. The experimental results show that with the proposed approach high speed train can track the desired speed, the relative coupler displacement between the neighbouring cars is stable at the equilibrium state, and the influence of actuator dynamics is reduced, which demonstrate the validity and effectiveness of the proposed approaches

Pharmacokinetic/Pharmacodynamic Profiles of Tiamulin in an Experimental Intratracheal Infection Model of Mycoplasma gallisepticum

Mycoplasma gallisepticum is the most important pathogen in poultry among four pathogenic Mycoplasma species. Tiamulin is a pleuromutilin antibiotic that shows a great activity against M. gallisepticum and has been approved for use in veterinary medicine particularly for poultry. However, the pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamics (PK/PD) profiles of tiamulin against M. gallisepticum are not well understood. Therefore, in the current studies, we investigated the in vivo PK/PD profiles of tiamulin using a well-established experimental intratracheal infection model of M. gallisepticum. The efficacy of tiamulin against M. gallisepticum was studied in 8-day-old chickens after intramuscular (i.m.) administration at 10 doses between 0-80 mg/kg. Liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) was used to evaluate the PK parameters of tiamulin following i.m. administration at doses of 5, 40, and 80 mg/kg in Mycoplasma gallisepticum-infected neutropenic chickens. Real-time PCR (RT-PCR) was used for quantitative detection of M. gallisepticum. The MIC of tiamulin against M. gallisepticum strain S6 was 0.03 μg/mL. The PK/PD index, AUC24h/MIC, correlated well with the in vivo antibacterial efficacy. The in vivo data suggest that animal dosage regimens should supply AUC24h/MIC of tiamulin of 382.68 h for 2 log10 ccu equivalents M. gallisepticum reduction. To attain that goal, the administered dose is expected to be 45 mg/kg b.w. for treatment of M. gallisepticum infection with an MIC90 of 0.03 μg/mL

The title compound, [Mn(C8H7N3)3]2[SiMo12O40]·6H2O, consists of an [SiMo12O40]4− heteropolyanion, lying on a centre of inversion, and a complex [Mn(C8H7N3)3]4+ cation. The MnII atom of the cation is hexacoordinated in a distorted octahedral geometry by six N atoms from three chelating 3-(2-pyridyl)pyrazole ligands. In the heteropolyanion, the four O atoms of the tetrahedral SiO4 group each half-occupy eight sites due to Si lying on the centre of inversion. N—H⋯O and O—H⋯O hydrogen bonding mediated by the water molecules leads to a consolidation of the structure
