Smart glasses can be used to add a schedule, map navigation, interact with friends, take photos and videos, and make video calls with friends through voice control. They can support wireless network access through a mobile communication network. Bluetooth is a radio technology that supports short-range communication between of the devices. It can exchange information between devices including mobile phones, wireless headsets, laptops, etc. Bluetooth technology can effectively simplify the communication between mobile devices. This thesis focuses on smart glasses applications for high-throughput phenotyping which requires a data monitor, data synchronization, Bluetooth service, and voice control between devices. On the Android side, the application, which is extended, is called Field Book. The new software called Field Book AR, includes a data monitor module and a Bluetooth server module to achieve data exchange with smart glasses. On the smart glasses side, the application is called DataReceiver. It receives voice commands from users and controls the actions of Field Book AR. Also, when Field Book detects data changing, it accepts new data and shows changes to the users

    The advent of the Internet has provided humanity with massive benefits. Yet, internet-related problems, such as internet addiction, have become more frequent. Internet addiction is a major research issue in the domains of education and psychology. While there has been substantial research on student internet abuse in China and around the world, little is known about the online behavior of primary and secondary school students in China. These students are in crucial periods of mental and physical development, making them especially prone to internet addiction. This paper seeks to summarize the current status of internet reliance among Chinese schoolchildren, explain its underlying reasons, and emphasize the potential dangers in order to stimulate further discussion about the topic

    Design and synthesis studies of new s-adenosyl-l-methionine analogues

    S-Adenosyl-L-Methionine (SAM), which is involved in methyl group transfers, is the second most abundant coenzyme in the human body. It is made from adenosinetriphosphate (ATP) and methionine catalyzed by adenosyltransferase. Methyltransferases (MTs) transfer the activated methyl group from the sulfur center to a specific position in a variety of substrates, e.g., DNA, RNA, proteins, and secondary metabolites. Methyltransferases have been linked to various diseases, including cancer. In recent years, more and more SAM analogues have been reported. These analogues show activities in biological target labeling. The purpose of this thesis is to design and synthesize new SAM analogues to inhibit cytosine DNA Methyltransferases in tumor cells. A series of target compounds was designed and synthesized in several steps from the starting material adenosine. The synthesis route has been divided into three parts: introduction of the nitrogen at the 5’ position, synthesis of aromatic aldehyde, and connection of these two compounds. More compounds with the same core structure will be designed and synthesized. The inhibition activities will be tested in future studies

    Apartment Rent Prediction Using Spatial Modeling

    This paper provides a new model to explain local variation in apartment rents by introducing the notion of a spatial process. This model differs from those in the literature by explicitly specifying spatial association between pairs of locations as a function of distance between them. Data on apartment rents for the eight markets are used to illustrate the spatial model. Results indicate signi?cant prediction improvement over traditional hedonic rent models that only include indicator variables to capture spatial effects.

    Emily Dickinson is a well-known poet in American literature, writing nearly 1800 poems during her lifetime. Dickinson’s poems are studied and translated by scholars and translators in China. Zhou Jianxin is an outstanding professor to study Emily Dickinson. The present author uses Jindi’s equivalent theory to analyze Zhou Jianxin’s translated version of Emily Dickinson’s poem, hoping that this paper will provide a new angle to appreciate Chinese version of English poems and give some inspiration to translation theories

    Famous Chinese translator Xu Yuanzhong advocates “three-beauty theory” in translating poems, namely, beauty in sense, sound and form. Based on the Luxun’s opinion, theoretical system of “three beauties” is summarized by Xu Yuanzhong after he translates a large number of poem. In addition to conveying the content of the original poem, it is also necessary for translators to strive to convey the form and rhyme of the original poem. Especially in poetry translation, the effect of “three beauties” is the goal of many poetry lovers. Guided by the theory of “three beauties”, the author tries to make an exploratory translation of William Allingham’s A Dream, keeping in line with the original poetry from three aspects of artistic conception, rhyme and form. And this thesis mainly aims for helping readers further appreciate the original poetry and draw lessons from translating the English poetry under the guidance of the theory of “three beauties”.
