Recognition of Chyrsobothris thoracica guadeloupensis Descarpentries, 1981 at the species level (Coleoptera: Buprestidae)
Evidence is presented that the subspecies Chrysobothris thoracica guadeloupensis Descarpentries, 1981
(Coleoptera: Buprestidae) should be recognized at the species level. Character evidence is provided to separate C.
guadeloupensis, new status, from C. thoracica Fabricius, 1798. Both species are illustrated with habitus photographs
and images of the male genitalia
New g'r'i'z' Photometry of the NGC 5128 Globular Cluster System
We present new photometry for 323 of the globular clusters in NGC 5128
(Centaurus A), measured for the first time in the filter system. The
color indices are calibrated directly to standard stars in the
system and are used to establish the fiducial mean colors for the blue and red
(low and high metallicity) globular cluster sequences. We also use
spectroscopically measured abundances to establish the conversion between the
most metallicity-sensitive colors (, ) and metallicity,

Taxonomic placement and nomenclatural revisions for five species of Neotropical Buprestidae (Coleoptera)
Autarcontes lopezi Fisher, 1925 (Coleoptera: Buprestidae), is transferred to the genus Agrilus Curtis, 1825 (new combination). Colobogaster bella Kirsch, 1873, is transferred to the genus Chrysobothris Eschscholtz, 1829 (new combination). Ectinogonia isamarae Moore, 1994, is resurrected as the valid name for the species previously called E. obscuripennis Cobos, 1954, as the latter is unavailable as infrasubspecific. Conognatha jakobsoni Obenberger, 1928, is resurrected over C. germaini Théry in Hoscheck, 1934, as the forÂmer name has priority. Callimicra lucida Waterhouse, 1889, is resurrected as the valid name over C. hoscheki Obenberger, 1922, which has been used due to several historical errors and misinterpretations

Radial Velocities of Newly Discovered Globular Clusters in NGC 5128
We present radial velocity measurements for 74 globular clusters (GCs) in the
nearby giant elliptical NGC 5128, of which 31 are newly discovered clusters.
All the GC candidates were taken from the list of possible new clusters given
in the Harris, Harris, & Geisler (2004) photometric survey. In addition to the
newly confirmed clusters, we identified 24 definite foreground stars and 31
probable background galaxies. From a combined list of 299 known GCs in NGC 5128
with measured radial velocities and metallicity-sensitive (C - T_1) photometric
indices, we construct a new metallicity distribution function (MDF) for the
cluster system. The MDF shows an approximately bimodal form, with centroids at
[Fe/H] = -1.46 and -0.53, and with nearly equal numbers of metal-poor and
metal-rich clusters in the two modes. However, there are many
intermediate-color clusters in the distribution, and the fainter clusters tend
to have a higher proportion of red clusters. These features of the MDF may
indicate a widespread age range within the cluster system as well as an

Transition from open access to quota based fishery management regimes in Alaska increased the safety of operations
During the past 12 years fishery managers responsible for federal fisheries off
Alaska have developed and implemented three new fishery management limited
access/quota share programs in place of traditional open access management. The three
limited access programs are unique but each provides for the allocation of quota shares
to individual participants in the halibut and sablefish longline fishery, in the Bering Sea
pollock trawl fishery and in the Bering Sea king and Tanner crab fishery, respectively.
New management programs are briefly described and contrasted with traditional
management. For each of the three fisheries, management changes over time have
generated substantial changes in fishing fleets, their operations, crew employment,
economics and safety records. Under quota share management, fleet consolidations have
occurred, particularly in the more over capitalized fisheries. The intense speed and
inflexible timing associated with open access fisheries have greatly lessened as have the
risk taking and incentives to maximize fishing power. Active vessel economic viability has strengthened due to a combination of increased efficiency, higher product yields,
reduced costs, greater crew stability and safer operations
