The aim of the article is to present selected solutions applied in urban planning, which, even contemporarily, can be used as models. The paper presents a review of selected concepts of model cities from the antiquity to contemporary times. The article presents methods of creating three-dimensional city models (or their flat presentations in so-called two and a half dimensions), including the historical conceptualization, portraying both the practical and aesthetical features of former map projections. Referring to historical examples, the article also includes historical and contemporary urban 3D models corresponding to analyzed conceptions

Case studies on the use of UAV's for documentation of cultural heritage

In material cultural heritage documentation, the use of measurement methods, i.e. photogrammetry and laser scanning, is becoming more and more common. The increasing availability of hardware and software allows to create the photorealistic models of objects documenting the heritage and the state of its preservation. The virtual object model can carry information about the dimensions, shape, color and texture of the documented object and it can be the basis for the documentation of the archaeological site, architectural and construction inventory, architectural and conservation studies and monitoring the condition of the object. In the paper presented an overview of the most important measurement techniques and methods for acquiring spatial data used in the documentation of monuments, with particular reference to photogrammetric documentation generated on the basis of data obtained from photographs made with the use of UAV. The heritage documentation presented in the paper were created using the Agisoft Photoscan software. The use of geographic information systems in storing, analyzing and sharing information about monuments was also discussed

The role of FinTech sector in e-commerce

Nowoczesne technologie finansowe określane inaczej mianem FinTech mają potencjał zrewolucjonizowania świata płatności. Ich rozwój i zastosowanie wpłynie nie tylko na handel, ale może również mieć istotne znaczenie dla usprawnienia działalności państw oraz zwiększenia poziomu bezpieczeństwa. Szczególnie ważnym przykładem zastosowania rozwiązań FinTech jest współcześnie branża e-commerce. Rynek e-commerce stale i dynamicznie rozwija się, a jego wzrost znacznie przyspieszył w związku ze światową pandemią Covid-19. Widać to wyjątkowo wyraźnie w Chinach, gdzie obecnie zarówno e-commerce jak i FinTech są najbardziej rozwinięte na świecie. Jednocześnie należy zauważyć jak ważna jest rola inwestycji w badania i rozwój nad zastosowaniami FinTech, ponieważ to właśnie w nich upatrywać należy przyszłości nowoczesnych finansów.W niniejszej pracy dyplomowej została przeanalizowana i poddana omówieniu kwestia zastosowania FinTech w e-commerce. Praca została napisana w oparciu o liczne źródła naukowe, literaturę przedmiotu, publikacje branżowe, raporty instytucji naukowych i think-tanków. Rozdział badawczy został napisany w oparciu o wnikliwą analizę źródeł i danych dotyczących stanu rozwoju oraz zastosowania technologii finansowych w e-commerce na rynku chińskim. Z uwagi na brak podobnych opracowań w polskiej literaturze przedmiotu praca stanowi cenny wkład w rozwój badań w tym obszarze. W pracy dyplomowej wykorzystano 128 pozycji bibliograficznych.Głównym celem pracy było przedstawienie rozwiązań FinTech oraz ich zastosowań w e-commerce. Celem rozdziału badawczego było zaprezentowanie rozwiązań FinTech stosowanych w ChRL oraz ich znaczenie dla rozwoju e-commerce w Chinach. W tym celu rozdział badawczy opracowano w oparciu o przeprowadzone case study, którego celem było zebranie oraz przeanalizowanie danych dotyczących rozwoju FinTech w Chinach oraz jego zastosowania w e-commerce.Analiza zebranych w toku pisania pracy informacji pozwoliła na zweryfikowanie wstępnych hipotez, odpowiedzenie na pytania badawcze orazsformułowania wniosków. Najważniejsze z nich dotyczą kwestii takich jak poziom innowacyjności i zaawansowania FinTech oraz e-commerce na rynku chińskim, poziom inwestycji w ich rozwój oraz wpływ zachowań konsumenckich, doświadczeń historycznych i chińskiej kultury na dynamikę rozwoju nowoczesnych rozwiązań płatniczych i handlu elektronicznego. Wyciągnięto również wnioski dotyczące politycznego wykorzystania FinTech przez Komunistyczną Partię Chin, jak również potencjalnych konsekwencji, zarówno politycznych jak i gospodarczych, dla innych państw.Modern financial technologies, otherwise known as FinTech, have the potential to revolutionize the world of payments. Their development and application will not only affect commerce, but may also be important for streamlining the operations of states and increasing the level of security. A particularly important example of the application of FinTech solutions is the e-commerce industry. The e-commerce market is growing continuously and dynamically, and its growth has greatly accelerated due to the global Covid-19 pandemic. This is particularly evident in China, where both e-commerce and FinTech are currently the most developed in the world. At the same time, it should be noted how important the role of investment in research and development of FinTech applications is, as this is where the future of modern finance should be seen.This thesis analyzes and discusses the application of FinTech in e-commerce. The thesis was written based on numerous scientific sources, literature on the subject, industry publications, and reports from scientific institutions and think tanks.The research chapter was written based on a thorough analysis of sources and data on the state of development and application of financial technologies in e-commerce in the Chinese market. Given the lack of similar studies in the Polish literature on the subject, the work is a valuable contribution to the development of research in this area. In the thesis, 128 bibliographic references were used.The main objective of the thesis was to present FinTech solutions and their applications in e-commerce. The purpose of the research chapter was to present FinTech solutions used in the PRC and their significance for the development of e-commerce in China. To this end, the research chapter was developed based on a case study conducted in order to collect and analyze data on the development of FinTech in China and its application in e-commerce.The analysis of the information collected in the course of writing the paper made it possible to verify preliminary hypotheses, answer research questions and formulate conclusions. The most important of these relate to issues such as the level of innovation and sophistication of FinTech and e-commerce in the Chinese market, the level of investment in their development, and the impact of consumer behavior, historical experience, and Chinese culture on the dynamics of the development of modern payment solutions and e-commerce. Conclusions are also drawn on the political use of FinTech by the Chinese Communist Party, as well as the potential consequences, both political and economic, for other countries

Tematem niniejszej pracy jest Social Credit System (SCS) - jeden z największych i najważniejszych projektów dotyczący nowoczesnych technologii i zarządzania społecznego, przeprowadzanych obecnie przez rząd Chińskiej Republiki Ludowej. SCS jest pierwszym tego typu systemem oceny i kontroli społecznej w historii ludzkości. Jego przeanalizowanie oraz zrozumienie stanowi kwestię wysokiej wagi dla dalszego prowadzenia polityki i biznesu z Chinami.Praca złożona jest z trzech rozdziałów. Rozdział pierwszy stanowi zarys teoretyczny oraz krótkie wprowadzenie do omawianej tematyki. Rozdział drugi poświęcony jest omówieniu najważniejszych elementów systemów, jego historii, sposobu działania, oddziaływania na społeczeństwo, poziomu akceptacji społecznej, a także analizę wpływu systemu na sytuację firm prowadzących działalność w Chinach. Trzeci rozdział stanowi refleksję nad implikacjami płynącymi z wprowadzenia systemu SCS. Przedstawione zostaną w nim także korzyści i zagrożenia wynikające z systemu, z którymi będą musiały mierzyć się zarówno Chiny ja i inne kraje świata.The major objective of this thesis is the Social Credit System (SCS) – one of the greatest and the most important projects in the area of new technologies and social management, that is currently being carried out by the government of the People’s Republic of China. SCS is the first digitalized social control and scoring system of its kind in human history. It is crucial to analyze and understand the SCS system in order to make the right decisions concerning politics and doing business with China.This thesis consists of three chapters. The first chapter constitutes an introduction to the thesis’s subject area. The second chapter provides an overview of the most crucial aspects related to the system, its history, modus operandi, its effect on Chinese society, the level of social approval, and a short analysis of its impact on companies that conduct their business operations in China. Conclusions are drawn in the third chapter. The advantages and disadvantages of SCS will be analyzed, as well as the system-related threats and benefits, both China and the world will have to deal with

Use of close-range photogrammetry and UAV in documentation of architecture monuments

The available photogrammetric solutions, combined with properly conducted surveying measurements enable to create fully applicable, three-dimensional models of architectural structures, which can be applied in, i.e. protection of cultural heritage or conservational documentation. Currently, we can see an increase in use of digital non-metric cameras in a photogrammetric inventory of sacred monuments. Properly obtained and analysed data allow to create a digital model of an object, which later might serve as a basis for a vector image used for architectural and construction purposes. The paper presents the procedure of creation of 3D models of sacred historic monuments of relatively small sizes with the use of terrestrial photogrammetry and UAV using the Agisoft PhotoScan Professional software
