Case-based learning is commonly used in various settings, including the medical field. This study aims to determine the effect of case-based learning video on learning motivation among midwifery students. This was a quasi-experimental study with pre-test and post-test approach. This study was conducted at the Bachelor of midwifery study program, Faculty of Medicine, Andalas University from August to October 2021. Forty-nine student midwives were selected through total sampling technique. Demographic information and motivation data were collected using the Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ). Descriptive statistics, ANOVA/Kruskal-Wallis test, and Paired T-Test/Wilcoxon Rank-sum test were applied to analyze the data. A p-value of less than 0.05 was considered statistically significant. This study reported no significant differences between age and the MSLQ value components. Nonetheless, significant differences were found between parents' income with intrinsic motivation (p equals 0.012), task value (p equals 0.044), and self-efficacy (p equals 0.02). Furthermore, there was a significant difference between intrinsic motivation and residence (p equals 0.012) among the other value components. The mean scores for all value components of motivation increased after the case-based learning video intervention. Two value components (task value and efficacy) showed a significant difference (p-value 0.026 and 0.000). In conclusion, case-based learning video effectively improved motivation among students. Such finding is essential to developing suitable learning method for students.Case-based learning umumnya digunakan dalam berbagai setting, termasuk bidang medis.

Morbidity associated with psychological problems is a major health problem experienced in postpartum period, as a risk factor for the development of serious mood disorders. Postpartum blues is a phenomenon that is difficult to detect because people regard as psychological disorders are maternal instincts. This study aims to determine the incidence of postpartum blues on postpartum mothers and their characteristics in Blora Public Health Centre. This study was a descriptive survey with cross-sectional approach. The population were mothers after 2 – 10 days of childbirth in September 2013 in Blora Public Health Centre with 70 respondents. Samples were taken by saturated sampling. The instrument was questionnaire. The results showed that 48.6% experienced on the baby blues. The risk factors were age (20-35 years 84.3%), parity (multiparous 61.43%), family inco-me (Rp500,000-Rp1.000.000,00 64.3%), job (jobless 62.9%), education (higher education 53%), family support (strongly support 91.4%), delivery type (vaginal delivery 58%), premenstrual syndrome history 58.6%, breast-feeding 100%. Based on this research, the researchers suggest midwives provide the psychological needs of mothers after childbirth and provide information about the physiological changes in postpartum period to prevent postpartum blues

Introduction: The government has issued ‘the adaptation to new habits’ policy as there was a rapid increase in COVID-19 cases. This study aimed to assess the prevalence of anxiety and analyze the associated factors of anxiety among midwifery students.Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted among midwifery students who are living and studying in Central Java Province from October 1 to October 25, 2020 using convenience sampling. The number of participants who met the criteria in the study was 1135. The online self-reported questionnaire was developed, which comprised sociodemographic characteristics, health-related information, and anxiety using The Zung’s Self-rating Anxiety Scale. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and binary logistic regression analysis with p-value <0.05 as the cut-off point for significance. Results: The prevalence of anxiety comprised of mild (9.7%), moderate (1.4%), and severe (1%), respectively. Exposure to a suspected case (OR = 2.3, 95% CI = 1.2, 4.6, p = 0.02) and age (OR = 0.4, 95% CI = 0.5, 0.9, p = 0.04) were significantly associated with anxiety. Students who were having contact with suspected COVID-19 was a 2.8 times greater risk of having anxiety. Students aged < 20 years was a 1.53 times greater risk of anxiety than those aged ≥ 20 years. Conclusions: This study reveals that exposure to a suspected case and less than 20 years old were the risk factors of a higher anxiety levels among the midwifery students. Prevention and impact reduction intervention should be conducted
