    The Impact of Adding Dragon Fruit (Hylocereus sp.) Peel Extract to Drinking Water on the Percentage of Carcasses and Offal Organs of Free-Range Village Chickens

    The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of adding dragon fruit(Hylocereussp) peel juice (DFPJ) to drinking water on the percentage of carcasses, and external and internal offal organs of free-range village chickens (White Gold &Lamcy). The study was carried out foreight weeks using a completely randomized design, which included 16 units (four levelsof DFPJ andfour replications of each, withfive birds per replication, for a total of 80 birds). The following treatmentswere given: R0: no DFPJ, R1: 5% DFPJ, R2: 10% DFPJ, and R3: 15% DFPJ in 1liter of drinking water. The variables observedwere: carcass percentage, and the percentage of external and internal offal organs.The results showed that the percentage of carcasses of the native chickens reared in free range were significantly different with the R2 and R3 treatments, while the R0 and R1 treatments had no effect on the internal and external offal organs of the chickens. It can be concluded that giving 10% or 15% dragon fruit peel juice through drinking water can have a significant effect on chicken carcass percentage, whereas using 5% does not have an effect.     Evaluasi Kualitas Berbagai Daging Unggas Air Pasca Restrukturisasi Menjadi Produk Nugget

    Teknik deboning pada karkas unggas menghasilkan daging yang relatif kecil dan tidak beraturan. Perlu teknologiuntuk meminimalkan kerusakan kualitas daging unggas tersebut. Teknologi restrukturisasi daging merupakanteknologi untuk memperbaiki kualitas daging yang berukur kecil-kecil dan tidak beraturan dengan melekatkankemabali menjadi ukuran yang lebih besar dan produk tersebut sering dikenal dengan nama nugget. Tujuan penelitianini adalah untuk mengkaji kualitas produk nugget hasil restrukturisasi berbagai daging unggas dan sekaligusingin diketahui pengaruh jenis daging unggas (itik, entok dan tiktok) terhadap kualitas nugget. Metode penelitianmenggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 3 perlakukan yakni T1 = nugget itik, T2 = nugget entok danT3 = nugget tiktok, dengan pengulangan masing-masing perlakuan sebanyak 4 kali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkanbahwa hasil restrukturisasi daging menjadi nugget menghasilkan kualitas fisik (pH dan DIA) yang berbeda nyata(P<0,05), sementara nilai aw tidak nyata perbedaannya dan berkisar antara 0,893-0,913. Nilai pH T1 paling tinggidiikuti T2 dan T3 (berturut-turut 6,39; 6,26; dan 6,01). DIA pada T2 (82,81%), T3 (82,29) dan T1 (81,81). Kualitaskimia nugget menghasilkan kadar air paling tinggi pada T2 (60,24%) (P<0,05), diikuti T3 (59,24%) dan T1 (58,32%). Kajian terhadap kadar protein nugget hasil restrukturisasi daging itik, entok dan tiktok menunjukkan hasilyang sama dengan kisaran antara 18,49 %-19,51 %. Kadar lemak secara keseluruhan diantara masing-masing perlakuanberbeda nyata (P<0,05), berturut-turut, 8,79%; 6,59% dan 5,66%. Kajian produk nugget terhadap penilaianpanelis menyangkut warna dan citarasa, nugget itik berbeda nyata (P<0,05) dengan perlakuan lainnya. Warnanugget yang diberikan panelis berkisar antara 5,30-6,30 sementara kisaran citarasa antara 5,05-6,20. Tekstur nuggetsecara keseluruhan diantara masing-masing perlakuan berbeda nyata (P<0,05), berturut-turut, 5,00; 5,85 dan6,45. Kesimpulan hasil penelitian ini bahwa restrukturisai berbagai daging unggas menjadi produk nugget memberikanpengaruh berbeda pada kualitas fisik (khususnya pH dan DIA serta nilai aw tidak terpengaruh), kualitaskimia (hanya kadar protein yang tidak terpengaruh) dan penilaian organoleptik nugget (tekstur nugget paling nyataterpengaruh)

    Production and Income Over Feed and Chick Cost (IOFCC) of Broiler Chicken Which Feed The Fermented Dragon Fruit Skin Ration (Hylocereus Polyrhizus)

    Abstract-The objective of the study is to know the production and the income over feed and chick cost (IOFCC) of broiler chicken which feed the fermented dragon fruit skin ration (Hylocereus Polyrhizus). The design of the study was Randomized Complete Design (RCD) with 3 treatments and 5 replications, where each replication consisted of 10 DOC broiler chicken; so total chicken used was 150 heads. Treatments given were: R0: ration of fruitless fruit skin of dragon, fermented; R1: ration with 5% flour of fermented dragon fruit skin and R2: ration with 7% fermented dragon fruit skin flour.     Is Islamic Banking Stronger Than Conventional Banking During the Covid-19 Pandemic? Evidence From Indonesia

    Purpose – We intended to test and compare the durability of Islamic banking and conventional banking during the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia. To that end, we first compared their performance before and during the pandemic. Next, we examined the effects of pandemic shocks on the performance of each of them.Methodology – The data covers 80 banks in Indonesia, which were divided into four groups, namely Islamic and conventional commercial banks, and Islamic and conventional rural banks. Each group consisted of 20 banks. Our observation period is 10 quarters, which was divided into two periods, namely the period before the pandemic (Q1-2019 – Q1-2020) and the period during the pandemic (Q2-2020 – Q2-2021). For comparison, we used a paired sample t-test, while testing the effect of shocks using a panel regression model.Findings – Islamic banking outperformed conventional banking, both before and during the Covid-19 pandemic. The Covid-19 pandemic has predominantly shaken conventional banking indicators and has only slightly shaken Islamic banking. However, this does not mean Islamic banks were superior to their conventional counterparts because both were shaken, it's just that conventional banks experienced a bigger shock than their Islamic counterparts.Originality – This is an original study that examines and compares the performance between Islamic and conventional banking using financial ratios during the Covid-19 pandemic

    The Balinese written tradition contain of various thing. These indicate how spacious their knowledge to organized their civilization continuity. The facts today, our generations of Balinese written tradition forgotten their perfectly forefather cultural heritage. They were not only leave the lontar script as a civilize forefather stationary also forget their letters use to explicit their thought gradually deserted. The more tragic fact fatally wounded which has no longer time to learn about Balinese culture which has explicit in lontar script on formal education. Beside, lontar script not only collected by formal institutions like Bali Province Government of Cultural, Faculty of Letters Udayana University, etc, but many of these collected personally. In the most serious condition, the personal collectors has not ability to take care the manuscript as far as longer, also they has not ability to confirm how to use the languages and cannot read the Balinese alphabet well. The phenomena above has not enough a good sufficient solution cause the policy in Bali for the perfectly written tradition is not consequence to save these .The Service Program for Society 0f Udayana University is one of a strategic institution to save the original text which is spelled out. Therefore, it’s really needed to give more “energy” to this institution and to those who has really dedicated to save our perfectly forefather cultural heritage from disappears. . </em

    Sosialisasi Modifikasi Mesin Ketingting di Posyantek dan Kelompok Nelayan Pesisir Pantai Penghulu Agung Ampenan Kota Mataram

    Dalam operasionalnya terutama melaut di malam hari, nelayan tradisional menggunakan aki untuk mensuplai daya lampu penerangan dalam aktifitas light fishing. Untuk penerangan 4 lampu dengan daya 10 watt, nelayan menggunakan aki 12 volt yang hanya mampu bertahan selama 4 jam, sedangkan waktu melaut rata-rata 12 jam/hari. Untuk memenuhi kebutuhan kekurangan arus listrik, nelayan menggunakan aki tambahan atau mencharge aki yg membutuhkan biaya dan waktu yang tinggi. Salah satu solusi yang dapat dilakukan terhadap permasalahan tersebut adalah dengan memodifikasi mesin ketinting. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memodifikasi mesin perahu ketingting milik nelayan tradisional di Pantai Ampenan. Hal tersebut bermanfaat bagi para nelayan agar bisa mengisi aki sendiri pada saat operasional di laut. Metode yang digunakan adalah penyuluhan dan sosialisasi. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dengan Kerjasama Balitbang kota Mataram, penyuluh Dinas Perikanan dan Kelautan kota Mataram, dan Posyantek Ampenan. Hasil dari kegiatan adalah dihasilkannya modifikasi mesin ketinting dengan penambahan alternator yang dapat mengisi aki dalam waktu 7 sampai dengan 8 jam dengan kapasitas aki 45 Ah. Dengan penambahan alternator maka konsumsi bahan bakar menjadi 0,5 liter/jam dari 0,38 lietr/jam sebelum modifikasi. Biaya yang dibutuhkan untuk melakukan modifikas kisaran Rp 500.000 sampai dengan Rp 600.000 Perunit sesuai dengan spesifikasi bahan yang digunakan. Kesimpulannya kegiatan ini sangat membantu untuk meningkatkan efisiensi dan efektifitas operasional para nelayan

    KAJIAN WANGSALAN DALAM BAHASA BALI

    Based on its vocabulary and the genre of the literary works, there are many similarities between Balinese and Javanese. One of the similarities is wangsalan. However, the term of wangsalan in Java is called Bladbadan in Bali. The term of wangsalan which is also well known in Bali refers to a kind of literary work as a two lines rhyme (parikan). Regardless of these terminology differences, in this research, the writer adopted the term wangsalan for referring to a genre of traditional literary work that contains phrases or clauses in which their meanings are different from the means of the speaker. The relation of the meaning of phrase or clauses and the means of the speaker of wangsalan is recognizable from the similarity of their phonemes. This study belongs to descriptive qualitative research, which its finding doesn�t take out from the statistics procedure or any mathematics calculation. But, the datum and its findings are taken from the sources of the data by listening, reading, writing and watching. They are collected from documented sources like: verses of geguritan Kasmaran (a traditional song), kesenian wayang kulit (puppet show), from Balinese pop song on VCD, from the respondent and also from the result of introspection by the writer itself, as a mother tongue of Balinese. The result of the analysis shows that there are two forms of wangsalan in Balinese, they are phrases and clauses. Wangsalan in the form of phrases could be categorized into three type

    Phenotypic Variation Identification Of Kampung Chiken Caru In Bali

    This study aimed to identify phenotypic variation of kampung chicken caru. This study was held at farmers,collectors and vendors kampung chikens in animal market in Bali. Phenotypic factors identified were comb types,feather, beak, and shank colors. The quantitative characters that were body mass and dimential. The qualitativedata collected was grouped the variation and the quantitative data then analyzed using descriptive quantitative andthe coefficient of variation was calculated. Black caru chicken had single and rose combs with beak and shank colorwere black and yellow. Whereas, red caru chicken had single, pea and rose combs with beak and shank color wereblack, white and yellow. For yellow caru chicken the comb was single and pea with the beak and shank were yellow.White caru chicken had single and pea combs with the color of the beak and shank were white. Similar to blackcaru, brumbun also chicken had single and pea comb with the color of beak and shank were black, white and yellow.Tibia length of brumbun caru chicken was vary (CV&gt;15%) whereas wing length of red caru chicken was uniform(CV&lt;15%).
