    Current Trends in Functional Imaging of Pheochromocytomas and Paragangliomas

    Most pheochromocytomas/paragangliomas should be evaluated with anatomical imaging (computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging) followed by functional imaging (nuclear medicine modalities). Functional imaging assures that the tumor is indeed a pheochromocytoma/paraganglioma and enables more thorough localization, especially detecting as many lesions as possible (in particular for metastatic disease). Functional imaging for pheochromocytomas/paragangliomas, can use radiolabled ligands specific for pathways of synthesis, metabolism, and inactivation of catecholamines or nonspecific ligands. In an overview of the available nuclear medicine modalities, we summarize the accumulated experience and recommend when functional imaging should be applied to patients with pheochromocytoma/paraganglioma.Peer Reviewedhttp://deepblue.lib.umich.edu/bitstream/2027.42/74881/1/annals.1353.041.pd

    [omega]-iodophenyl fatty acids: A convenient method of radioiodination

    A solid-phase radioiodination technique for [omega]-iodophenyl fatty acids using ammonium sulfate is described. The radioiodinations are (1) regioselective, (2) high in yield (95%), (3) short in reaction time (1 h) and (4) capable of yielding high specific activity products although at lower yields. Purification is exceptionally simple: a single passage through an ion exchange column to remove unreacted *I- is all that is required.     Direct controller design and iterative tuning applied to the coupled drives apparatus

    V příspěvku je použita přímá metoda návrhu regulátorů VRFT ( Virtual Reference Feedback Tuning) pro iterační způsob návrhu a doladění regulátoru. V práci je využito série experimentů bez omezení na způsob jejich generování pro návrh optimálního regulátoru zvolené struktury bez nutnosti identifikovat řízený proces. Přístup je úspěšně aplikován při návrhu a dolaďování regulátoru pro elektrické zařízení - systém spřažených servomotorů, a to přizpůsobováním požadované doby ustálení řízené veličiny.The paper utilizes the direct method Virtual Reference Feedback Tuning (VRFT) for the iterative way of controller design and fine-tuning. In the work, a series of experiments with no restriction on data generation is used to design an optimal controller of desired structure without the intermediate plant identification step. The approach is shown to be successful for the design and fine-tuning of a controller for the electric device - coupled drives apparatus by means of adjusting a desired settling-time of controlled output
