The title compound, C7H8INO, which crystallizes with three independent molecules in the asymmetric unit, was prepared by the reaction of 3-methoxy-6-methylpyridine with KI and I2 in tetrahydrofuran solution. In the crystal structure, the three independent molecules are arranged in a similar orientation with the three polar methoxy groups aligned on one side and the three non-polar methyl groups on the other side. The three molecules, excluding methyl H atoms, are essentially planar, with r.m.s. deviations of 0.0141 (1), 0.0081 (1) and 0.0066 (2)Å. The three pyridine rings make dihedral angles of 58.09 (3) 66.64 (4) and 71.5 (3)°. The crystal structure features rather weak intermolecular C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds, which link two molecules into dimers, and short I⋯N contacts [4.046 (3) Å]

Abstract: A class of rational square trigonometric spline is presented, which shares the same properties of normal cubic Hermite interpolation spline. The given spline can more approximate the interpolated curve than the ordinary polynomial cubic spline.Key words: Hermite spline curve; C2 continuous; Faultage area; Precisio

Unsupervised String Transformation Learning for Entity Consolidation

Data integration has been a long-standing challenge in data management with many applications. A key step in data integration is entity consolidation. It takes a collection of clusters of duplicate records as input and produces a single "golden record" for each cluster, which contains the canonical value for each attribute. Truth discovery and data fusion methods, as well as Master Data Management (MDM) systems, can be used for entity consolidation. However, to achieve better results, the variant values (i.e., values that are logically the same with different formats) in the clusters need to be consolidated before applying these methods. For this purpose, we propose a data-driven method to standardize the variant values based on two observations: (1) the variant values usually can be transformed to the same representation (e.g., "Mary Lee" and "Lee, Mary") and (2) the same transformation often appears repeatedly across different clusters (e.g., transpose the first and last name). Our approach first uses an unsupervised method to generate groups of value pairs that can be transformed in the same way (i.e., they share a transformation). Then the groups are presented to a human for verification and the approved ones are used to standardize the data. In a real-world dataset with 17,497 records, our method achieved 75% recall and 99.5% precision in standardizing variant values by asking a human 100 yes/no questions, which completely outperformed a state of the art data wrangling tool

Multi-Objective Thermal Optimization Based on Improved Analytical Thermal Models of a 30 kW IPT System for EVs

Thermal design is particularly important for high-power and compact inductive power transfer (IPT) systems having limited surface area for heat dissipation. This paper presents the thermal design and optimization of a 30 kW IPT system for electric vehicles. An improved analytical thermal model with high accuracy for liquid-cooled magnetic couplers was proposed by using thermal network method (TNM). It considers heating components as well as thermal interface materials. Then multi-objective thermal optimization procedure of the liquid-cooled magnetic coupler was conducted with the presented model. Tradeoffs among temperature rise, weight, and cost were discussed and an optimized solution was selected. The thermal FE models were established and compared with the thermal networks. Subsequently, the thermal performance of the system at different power levels and misaligned conditions was analyzed. The experimental setup based on Fiber Bragg grating sensors was built, and the prototypes were tested with an output power of around 28 kW. The error of stable temperature between the experiment and the prediction was less than 10% at the measurement points, verifying the thermal models. The proposed thermal models and optimization procedure accelerate the thermal design of IPT systems, towards higher power density.Multi-Objective Thermal Optimization Based on Improved Analytical Thermal Models of a 30 kW IPT System for EVsacceptedVersio
