A New Double Color Image Watermarking Algorithm Based on the SVD and Arnold Scrambling

    Get PDF
We propose a new image watermarking scheme based on the real SVD and Arnold scrambling to embed a color watermarking image into a color host image. Before embedding watermark, the color watermark image W with size of MΓ—M is scrambled by Arnold transformation to obtain a meaningless image W~. Then, the color host image A with size of NΓ—N is divided into nonoverlapping N/MΓ—N/M pixel blocks. In each (i,j) pixel block Ai,j, we form a real matrix Ci,j with the red, green, and blue components of Ai,j and perform the SVD of Ci,j. We then replace the three smallest singular values of Ci,j by the red, green, and blue values of W~ij with scaling factor, to form a new watermarked host image A~ij. With the reserve procedure, we can extract the watermark from the watermarked host image. In the process of the algorithm, we only need to perform real number algebra operations, which have very low computational complexity and are more effective than the one using the quaternion SVD of color image

Purpose: To investigate the efficacy of a combination of montelukast and vitamins A and D drops in bronchial asthma children, and its effect on quality of life. Methods: Sixty bronchial asthma children from June 2018 to June 2020 were collected and randomized into study group and control group (30 cases in each group). Control group received montelukast sodium (chewable tablets), while the study group received vitamins A and D drops (capsules) plus. Clinical efficacy, lung function, serum inflammatory factors, and quality of life were evaluated and compared. Results: Compared with control group, total treatment effectiveness was higher and the symptom remission period was shorter in the study group (p < 0.05). Post-treatment, the parameters of FEV1 and FVC increased in both groups, but higher in the study group (p < 0.05). Serum levels of CRP and IL-4 in both groups decreased after treatment, while serum IL-10 levels were significantly up-regulated. Compared with control group, the levels of these indicators were improved in the study group (p < 0.05). Post-treatment Chinese Version of Pediatric Quality of Life Asthma Specific Scale (PedSQL) score was higher than before treatment, with higher values (for all indicators) in the study group (p < 0.05).Conclusion: The combination therapy of montelukast and vitamins A and D drops produces good clinical efficacy in children with bronchial asthma. It significantly shortens the time taken for relief of clinical symptoms, improves lung function, reduces inflammatory response, controls asthma, and improves the quality of life of the patients

High capacity group-IV elements (Si, Ge, Sn) based anodes for lithium-ionΒ batteries

AbstractTremendous efforts have been devoted to replace commercial graphite anode (372Β mAhΒ gβˆ’1) by group IV elements (Si, Ge, Sn) based-materials with high capacities in lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). The use of these materials is hampered by the pulverization of these particles due to the high volumetric change during lithiation and delithiation cycles, which leads to particles pulverization and destabilization of solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) films. These problems result in fast capacity fading and low Coulombic efficiency. Nanostructured materials show significant improvements in rate capability and cyclability due to their high surface-to-volume ratio, reduced Li+ diffusion length, and increased freedom associated with the volume change during cycling. However, the nanostructured active materials with high ratio of surface-to-volume increase the irreversible capacity due to the formation of more SEI films. Although the nanostructured materials active materials keep relatively stable during repeated cycles of lithiation/delithiation process, the SEI film continually breaks/reforms, lowing the Coulombic efficiency. Meanwhile, the high-cost, low Coulombic efficiency and low tapping density limit the commercialization of the nanostructured electrode materials. Therefore, it is urgent to find solutions which could take advantage of both long cycle life of nanomaterials within the group IV elements (Si, Ge, Sn) and high volumetric/gravimetric capacity of micro-materials in the group IV as well as elements (Si, Ge, Sn). This report presents an overview of the recently developed strategies for improving the group IV elements (Si, Ge, Sn)-based anodes performances in LIBs to provide a further insight understanding in designing novel anodes

A Fuzzy Multiobjective Model for Supplier Selection under Considering Stochastic Demand in a Supply Chain

    Get PDF
With the development of market competition, company faces more and more pressures. Meanwhile, procurement has a vital effect on achieving competitive advantages in a supply chain. Selecting the appropriate suppliers is one of the most important sections in purchase management. However, in real situation, supplier selection is a multiple objective problem about different items with vagueness and randomness of the data. It is very complex. Hence, research about supplier selection is relatively scarce under considering multiple items, discount price, and fuzzy and stochastic information. In our paper, we develop a fuzzy multiobjective supplier selection model for overcoming uncertainty and multiple items. Stochastic demand, fuzzy objectives, and weights are simultaneously applied to help the managers to select the suitable suppliers about different items. For illustration purpose, a numerical example is presented to verify the effectiveness of the proposed model

Centrosome-associated regulators of the G2/M checkpoint as targets for cancer therapy

    Get PDF
In eukaryotic cells, control mechanisms have developed that restrain cell-cycle transitions in response to stress. These regulatory pathways are termed cell-cycle checkpoints. The G2/M checkpoint prevents cells from entering mitosis when DNA is damaged in order to afford these cells an opportunity to repair the damaged DNA before propagating genetic defects to the daughter cells. If the damage is irreparable, checkpoint signaling might activate pathways that lead to apoptosis. Since alteration of cell-cycle control is a hallmark of tumorigenesis, cell-cycle regulators represent potential targets for therapy. The centrosome has recently come into focus as a critical cellular organelle that integrates G2/M checkpoint control and repairs signals in response to DNA damage. A growing number of G2/M checkpoint regulators have been found in the centrosome, suggesting that centrosome has an important role in G2/M checkpoint function. In this review, we discuss centrosome-associated regulators of the G2/M checkpoint, the dysregulation of this checkpoint in cancer, and potential candidate targets for cancer therapy

Abstract The construction of the biologically interesting chromone skeleton was realized by PhIO-mediated dehydrogenation of chromanones under mild conditions. Interestingly, this method also found application in the synthesis of the naturally occurring frutinone A

Gene Expression Profiles Deciphering Rice Phenotypic Variation between Nipponbare (Japonica) and 93-11 (Indica) during Oxidative Stress

Rice is a very important food staple that feeds more than half the world's population. Two major Asian cultivated rice (Oryza sativa L.) subspecies, japonica and indica, show significant phenotypic variation in their stress responses. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying this phenotypic variation are still largely unknown. A common link among different stresses is that they produce an oxidative burst and result in an increase of reactive oxygen species (ROS). In this study, methyl viologen (MV) as a ROS agent was applied to investigate the rice oxidative stress response. We observed that 93-11 (indica) seedlings exhibited leaf senescence with severe lesions under MV treatment compared to Nipponbare (japonica). Whole-genome microarray experiments were conducted, and 1,062 probe sets were identified with gene expression level polymorphisms between the two rice cultivars in addition to differential expression under MV treatment, which were assigned as Core Intersectional Probesets (CIPs). These CIPs were analyzed by gene ontology (GO) and highlighted with enrichment GO terms related to toxin and oxidative stress responses as well as other responses. These GO term-enriched genes of the CIPs include glutathine S-transferases (GSTs), P450, plant defense genes, and secondary metabolism related genes such as chalcone synthase (CHS). Further insertion/deletion (InDel) and regulatory element analyses for these identified CIPs suggested that there may be some eQTL hotspots related to oxidative stress in the rice genome, such as GST genes encoded on chromosome 10. In addition, we identified a group of marker genes individuating the japonica and indica subspecies. In summary, we developed a new strategy combining biological experiments and data mining to study the possible molecular mechanism of phenotypic variation during oxidative stress between Nipponbare and 93-11. This study will aid in the analysis of the molecular basis of quantitative traits
