Total reality of conormal bundles of hypersurfaces in almost complex manifolds
A generalization to the almost complex setting of a well-known result by S.
Webster is given. Namely, we prove that if is a strongly pseudoconvex
hypersurface in an almost complex manifold , then the conormal bundle
of is a totally real submanifold of (T^*M, \J), where \J is the
lifted almost complex structure on defined by Ishihara and Yano.Comment: 8 page
Pseudohermitian invariants and classification of CR mappings in generalized ellipsoids
We discuss the problem of classifying all local CR diffeomorphisms of a
strictly pseudoconvex surface. Our method exploits the Tanaka--Webster
pseudohermitian invariants, their transformation formulae, and the Chern--Moser
invariants. Our main application concerns a class of generalized ellipsoids
where we classify all local CR mappings.Comment: Accepted version, to appear on J. Math. Soc. Japa

A Bishop surface with a vanishing Bishop invariant
We derive a complete set of invariants for a formal Bishop surface near a
point of complex tangent with a vanishing Bishop invariant under the action of
formal transformations. We prove that the modular space of Bishop surfaces with
a vanishing Bishop invariant and with a fixed Moser invariant is of
infinite dimension. We also prove that the equivalence class of the germ of a
generic real analytic Bishop surface near a complex tangent with a vanishing
Bishop invariant can not be determined by a finite part of the Taylor expansion
of its defining equation. This answers, in the negative, a problem raised by J.
