Production of CP-even and CP-odd Higgs bosons at Muon colliders

In the $s$-channel Higgs-boson-exchange processes, the interference between the amplitudes for CP-even and CP-odd Higgs bosons is sizable, if the helicities of initial and final particles are properly fixed and if the mass difference between these bosons is not much larger than their decay widths. We discuss this interference effect in the process $\mu^+ \mu^-$ $\to t\bar{t}$. Examining the effects gives us information on CP-parity for Higgs bosons and on the sign of a product of the coupling constants for $H\mu^-\mu^+$, $Ht\bar{t}$, $A\mu^-\mu^+$ and $At\bar{t}$ vertices. In 1890, Manjiro Inagaki, a Cambridge-educated Japanese diplomat, wrote: Without doubt the Pacific will in the coming century be the platform of commercial and political enterprise. This truth, however, escapes the eyes of ninety-nine out of a hundred, just as did the importance of Eastern Europe in 1790 and of Central Asia in 1857. Inagaki\u27s belief was based on the seemingly inevitable clash of interests between England and Russia in those years. The rivalry for spheres of influence between the two super powers extended from the Balkans to Central Asia/Afghanistan and was now, he thought, extending to Eastern Asia and the Pacific. Systems Biology Reveals MicroRNA-Mediated Gene Regulation

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are members of the small non-coding RNAs, which are principally known for their functions as post-transcriptional regulators of target genes. Regulation by miRNAs is triggered by the translational repression or degradation of their complementary target messenger RNAs (mRNAs). The growing number of reported miRNAs and the estimate that hundreds or thousands of genes are regulated by them suggest a magnificent gene regulatory network in which these molecules are embedded. Indeed, recent reports have suggested critical roles for miRNAs in various biological functions, such as cell differentiation, development, oncogenesis, and the immune responses, which are mediated by systems-wide changes in gene expression profiles. Therefore, it is essential to analyze this complex regulatory network at the transcriptome and proteome levels, which should be possible with approaches that include both high-throughput experiments and computational methodologies. Here, we introduce several systems-level approaches that have been applied to miRNA research, and discuss their potential to reveal miRNA-guided gene regulatory systems and their impacts on biological functions

Creating Singing Vocal Expressions by means of Interactive Evolutionary Computation

Today, researches for singing by computer have attracted attention. VOCALOID is an application to realize that aim. By inputing lyrics and melody, users can make songs sung by the computer. In order to make the singing voice more "human", users must control frequency curve very carefully. Comparing with inputing lyrics or melody, this controlling presents heavy overhead for users. In this research, we propose a system for easily optimizing frequency curves. This system searches for parameters with a type of GA called Interactive Evolutionary Computation (IEC). On the other hand, the system using IEC has a phase for users to evaluate, we need to consider the tiredness of users. This tiredness is connected to the effectiveness of the search with GA. In this research, for the analysis of the tiredness of users, we evaluated the convergence performance of GA to fit the goal which is known in advance. As a result, we found that our method has better convergence performance than a previous method
