Block cipher based Public Key Encryption viaIndistinguishability Obfuscation

    Get PDF
The article is devoted to generation techniques of thenew public key crypto-systems, which are based on applicationof indistinguishability obfuscation methods to selected privatekey crypto-systems. The techniques are applied to symmetrickey crypto-system and the target system is asymmetric one.As an input for our approach an implementation of symmetricblock cipher with a given private-key is considered. Differentobfuscation methods are subjected to processing. The targetsystem would be treated as a public-key for newly createdpublic crypto-system. The approach seems to be interestingfrom theoretical point of view. Moreover, it can be useful forinformation protection in a cloud-computing model

    Confidential greedy graph algorithm

    Get PDF
Confidential algorithm for the approximate graph vertex covering problem is presented in this article. It can preserve privacy of data at every stage of the computation, which is very important in context of cloud computing. Security of~our solution is based on fully homomorphic encryption scheme. The time complexity and the security aspects of considered algorithm are described

A systematic analysis of the Polish Code of Medical Ethics

    Get PDF
The purpose of this article is to provide a summary of the history which led to the creation of the current structure of the self-regulatory professional body of physicians and dentists, the nature of the professional activities and practice of physicians, as well as an analysis of the legal basis for the adoption of the Code of Medical Ethics. This allows us to draw a series of conclusions as to the influence of the existence of the professional self-regulatory body of physicians on the functioning of the Polish health service

Critical analysis of the Code of Medical Ethics

The wording of this article raises fundamental doubts. Since the physician should also strive of obtain the consent of a minor, the question arises as to who else they should obtain it from? Or in fact who, in the case of a minor, should agree to the provision of healthcare. The main part of this article is a critical analysis of articles of the Polish Code of Medical Ethics

Structural analysis of the Polish Code of Medical Ethics

In this article is described the structural analysis of the Polish Code of Medical Ethics. It is presented in the context of the Constitution of the Republic of Poland; it is also analysed the scope of the Code of Medical Ethics

Interdisciplinarity and multidisciplinarity of the medical profession. Opportunity or threat?

    Get PDF
This article aims to describe the actual scope of requirements for physicians and analyse it as an opportunity for, or threat to, the development of the profession. The article will be subdivided into two parts. In the first, concerning the interdisciplinarity of the medical profession, we shall provide constructive criticism of the specialisation system within the medical profession. This part will be subdivided into two segments: the first will list the opportunities for physicians which result from often far-reaching specialisation, while the second will enumerate the threats. The second part, dealing with the multidisciplinarity of the medical profession will define the scope of actual competences required from physicians so as to judge whether such a large amount of additional knowledge is helpful for physicians in fulfilling their professional requirements, or if it overwhelms them

Seasonal changes in the photosynthetic activity of terrestrial lichens and mosses in the lichen scots pine forest habitat

Photosynthetic activity is one of the most important metabolic processes that can be quickly and easily studied in the field. It can be used for identifying the environmental factors affecting ecosystem balance, as any stressor influencing metabolic and physiological processes will have a measurable effect on photosynthesis. The aim of this study was to measure the photosynthetic activity of selected lichens and mosses and investigate its changes resulted from diurnal and seasonal variability. We studied two lichens (Cladonia mitis Sandst and Cladonia uncialis (L.) Weber ex F.H. Wigg.) and two mosses (Pleurozium schreberi (Willd. ex Brid.) Mitt. and Dicranum scoparium (L.) Hedw.). Samples were collected in the area of lichen Scots pine forest of the “Bory Tucholskie” National Park. Our study revealed that the photosynthetic activity of cryptogams depended on species, season, time of the day, and water availability. Cladonia species, which are the main component of lichen Scots pine forests, have higher photosynthetic activity than Pleurozium schreberi, which represents species of fresh coniferous forests. Photosynthetic activity increased from spring through summer and reached the highest values in autumn. It was also higher in soaked samples collected in the morning and afternoon compared to noon. Despite the water access, noon samples still showed the lowest activity. This can result from natural changes in humidity during the day to which cryptogams are well-adapted

Selected legal and ethical principles for the healthcare system in Poland

    No full text
Although the constitutional right to health care itself has not been subject to legislative changes, the emergence of some other legal regulations and their impact on the current state of the healthcare system justifies additional examination. The authors of the article indicate, among others, areas where the most significant changes to the Polish healthcare system took place in the recent years, and wherever possible, they also assess the current situation. The analysis of the current legal basis of the right to health protection focuses particularly on such important values as: equality in access to health and solidarity, human dignity and patient rights, and professional ethics of person providing benefits

Public Vaccination Reluctance: What Makes Us Change Our Minds? Results of A Longitudinal Cohort Survey

    No full text
The paper presents a longitudinal cohort survey on the public acceptability of COVID-19 vaccination and real vaccination levels. A survey on a representative sample of adult Polish citizens (n = 1066) was conducted in June 2020 and, one year later, the same group was approached to compare the hypothetical declarations with the real vaccination decisions (n = 438). A significant part of the group that declared reluctance and hesitation toward COVID-19 vaccination before that vaccination was available actually got vaccinated or plans to get vaccinated. Those respondents were asked about the reasons for changing their attitudes. Among the previously vaccine-reluctant individuals, the main reasons included concern about their health and safety (50%) and their desire to travel (26.6%). Vaccine-hesitant individuals also indicated health and safety as their primary concern (69%), as well as the pursuit of herd immunity and a notion of common social safety (12.6%). The main factors helping to increase vaccination acceptance are based on a self-centered pursuit of safety and freedom from restrictions. The survey results may help to prepare a more effective vaccination campaign
