Microsatellite primers for the rare sedge Lepidosperma bungalbin (Cyperaceae)
Premise of the study: Microsatellite markers were developed for the rare sedge Lepidosperma bungalbin (Cyperaceae) to assess genetic variation and its spatial structuring. Methods and Results: We conducted shotgun sequencing on an Illumina MiSeq and produced 6,215,872 sequence reads. The QDD pipeline was used to design 60 primer pairs that were screened using PCR. We developed 17 loci, of which 12 loci were identified that were polymorphic, amplified reliably, and could be consistently scored. We then screened these loci for variation in individuals from three populations. The number of alleles observed for these 12 loci across the three populations ranged from nine to 19 and expected heterozygosity ranged from 0.41 to 0.89. Conclusions: These markers will enable the quantification of the potential impact of mining on genetic variation within L. bungalbin and establish a baseline for future management of genetic variation of the rare sedge

Falloff of the Weyl scalars in binary black hole spacetimes
The peeling theorem of general relativity predicts that the Weyl curvature
scalars Psi_n (n=0...4), when constructed from a suitable null tetrad in an
asymptotically flat spacetime, fall off asymptotically as r^(n-5) along
outgoing radial null geodesics. This leads to the interpretation of Psi_4 as
outgoing gravitational radiation at large distances from the source. We have
performed numerical simulations in full general relativity of a binary black
hole inspiral and merger, and have computed the Weyl scalars in the standard
tetrad used in numerical relativity. In contrast with previous results, we
observe that all the Weyl scalars fall off according to the predictions of the

Can Customers Detect Script Usage in Service Encounters? An Experimental Video Analysis
Service scripts are predetermined guides for employees to follow when delivering service to customers. Some services require employees to strictly follow a script, whereas others use scripts more flexibly, if at all. Extant research regarding service scripts in the domain of service operations has mainly addressed the topic from more of a process view as a control mechanism for the encounter but minimal research has examined customer perceptions of scripted service. The authors examine a pivotal first question, which is if customers can detect different approaches to script use. To answer the question, the authors conducted a video experiment of face‐to‐face service encounters in the hospitality industry. The results indicate that customers can detect degrees of script use across both standardized and customized encounter types. This work serves as initial empirical evidence that customers are indeed capable of detecting subtleties in scripting approaches in different service situations and supports that script level is an important service design construct for research. Furthermore, the authors highlight the use of a video experiment as an innovative methodology for assessing customer perceptions of intangible aspects to services in a realistic setting. One implication of this study is that managers need to assess the impact that different script levels have on customer perceptions of various service performance measures. Managers should also consider the effect script detection has on customer perceptions of the service experience and service brand to assure their script approach aligns with the organization’s service strategy
The Impact of Service System Design and Flow Experience on Customer Satisfaction in Online Financial Services
Prior research examines customer satisfaction in retailing and e-commerce settings, yet online financial services have received little research attention. To understand customer satisfaction with this fast-growing service, this study investigates the role of flow experience, a sensation that occurs as a result of significant cognitive involvement. The study examines how service system characteristics affect the cognitive states of the flow experience, which determines customer satisfaction. The flow construct and total experience design suggest a structural model that is empirically tested using responses from a large sample of online investors. In support of the model and most of the hypotheses it suggests, the empirical results clarify the important antecedents and consequence of flow experience in online financial services and suggest the viability of using a dual-layer experience construct to investigate customer satisfaction. These findings can help researchers and service providers understand when, where, and how flow experience is formulated in online financial services
Quasi-local contribution to the scalar self-force: Non-geodesic Motion
We extend our previous calculation of the quasi-local contribution to the
self-force on a scalar particle to general (not necessarily geodesic) motion in
a general spacetime. In addition to the general case and the case of a particle
at rest in a stationary spacetime, we consider as examples a particle held at
rest in Reissner-Nordstrom and Kerr-Newman space-times. This allows us to most
easily analyse the effect of non-geodesic motion on our previous results and

Generic effective source for scalar self-force calculations
A leading approach to the modelling of extreme mass ratio inspirals involves
the treatment of the smaller mass as a point particle and the computation of a
regularized self-force acting on that particle. In turn, this computation
requires knowledge of the regularized retarded field generated by the particle.
A direct calculation of this regularized field may be achieved by replacing the
point particle with an effective source and solving directly a wave equation
for the regularized field. This has the advantage that all quantities are
finite and require no further regularization. In this work, we present a method
for computing an effective source which is finite and continuous everywhere,
and which is valid for a scalar point particle in arbitrary geodesic motion in
an arbitrary background spacetime. We explain in detail various technical and
practical considerations that underlie its use in several numerical self-force
calculations. We consider as examples the cases of a particle in a circular
orbit about Schwarzschild and Kerr black holes, and also the case of a particle
following a generic time-like geodesic about a highly spinning Kerr black hole.
