A Literature Review of Empirical Research on Trade of Cultural Goods

    Get PDF
UNESCO defines cultural goods as consumer products that spread ideas, symbols, and lifestyles. Cultural goods provide information and entertainment, which in turn form group identity and influence cultural behavior. The low energy dissipation, high added value and the property of value transmission of the cultural industry have made the cultural goods' status in the global trade higher annually. Meanwhile, the contribution made by cultural goods trade to the national economy has become increasingly prominent. This article provides accessible research directions and path for the follow-up study of Chinese cultural goods trade by reviewing the existing empirical research on the trade of cultural goods

A Literature Review of the Research on Markups of China's Manufacturing Exports and Non-Export Firms

According to the variable markup trade theory and the industrial organizational theory, generally higher markup means stronger market pricing power and higher productivity for a firm, while higher-productivity firms choose to export, which means the markup of export firms should be higher. However, the actual situation in China is the opposite. The markup of non-export firms is even higher. Therefore, scholars, who have observed this problem, have begun to use different markup-measurement methods to study this phenomenon, ranging from different angles, which include export tax rebates, import competition, and resource allocation. This paper reviews the literature from four aspects, which are the development of the variable markup trade theory, the development of markup measurement methods, the development of empirical research on China export firms’ abnormal markup phenomenon, and looks forward to the follow-up research, in order to make some contribution to continuously supplement and improve the research about this abnormal phenomenon in China

In the practical and talent-oriented higher education, to build the core professional courses with the help of “Internet +” technology can realize the multi-time learning, which is helpful for the cultivation of applied talents. This paper analyzes the necessity of combining internet technology in curriculum construction. Take the course of “Financial Engineering” as the example, from the aspects of class time setting, textbook selection, practical system construction, developing three kinds of curriculum construction modes, which provides a reference for the construction of higher education curriculum

Integration of Ideological and Political Education into the Civil Engineering Curriculum: A Case Study of the “Steel Bridge” Course at Southwest Jiaotong University’s Hope College

    Get PDF
This research paper explores the successful integration of ideological and political education into the curriculum of the civil engineering program, focusing on the course “Steel Bridge” at Southwest Jiaotong University’s Hope College. The study outlines the course objectives, curriculum design, teaching strategies, and assesses the impact of ideological and political education on students’ comprehensive development. By examining the course’s teaching methods, content, and effectiveness, the paper aims to provide insights into the broader implementation of ideological and political education in engineering education. The findings reveal notable improvements in students’ political awareness, moral character, and overall competence through the infusion of ideological and political elements within the technical curriculum. This case study serves as a model for similar courses and contributes to the ongoing discourse on cultivating well-rounded engineers with a strong sense of social responsibility and ethical values

Fabrication of Dielectric Elastomers with Improved Electromechanical Properties Using Silicone Rubber and Walnut Polyphenols Modified Dielectric Particles

In this work, polyphenolic extract from walnut green husks (denoted as walnut polyphenols), which is an abun-dant agroindustrial residue/waste, was used to modify barium titanate (BT) particles in the preparation of sili-cone rubber (SR) based dielectric elastomer (DE) composites with enhanced electromechanical performance.By employing walnut polyphenols modification, the dispersibility of BT particles in the SR matrix and the com-patibility between BT and SR were greatly improved, which resulted in enhanced mechanical performance ofthe DE composites. Dielectric property measurement showed that DE composites containing walnut polyphenolsmodified BT particles (WNBT) had higher dielectric constants and lower dielectric losses than that of DEs withunmodified BT particles. Furthermore, it was found that the walnut polyphenols modification resulted in de-creased dielectric loss tangent of the DE composites, suggesting an improved compatibility between the modifiedBT particles and SR. Finally, the static and dynamic electromechanical performance of the DE composites wereevaluated. The SR/5%WNBT composite achievedthehighest actuatedareastrainof 38% among the SRbasedcom-posites used in this work. Moreover, the actuated area strain of SR/WNBT composites exhibited excellent electro-mechanical stability during the application of cyclic voltage signals
