    This article attempts to review some understanding of key concepts related to political and religious authority in the Bugis people of South Sulawesi, particularly since the 20th century, such as arung (nobility), topanrita (scholar) and anregurutta (Islamic scholar). After analyzing the shift in the meaning of these concepts, this article seeks to trace the relationship between traditional authorities (white) with topanrita figure that, in the traditional sense, synonymous with the concept of intellectuals in modern society. After pointing out the meaning of the concept of transition topanrita so much represents the traditional ulama in Bugis society, the article concluded, among other factors of golden era of kingdoms Bugis-Makassar in the past is because of the critical relationship between political authority and symbiotic (arung) and socio-religious (anregurutta or topanrita) in these kingdoms

    Message of Peace in the Teaching of Islam

    This study aims to (1) describe the message of peace in the Qur'an, (2) describe the message of peace in the Hadith, and (3) describe the message of peace in the Medina Charter. The focus of this research is the message of peace in the teachings of Islam, which is broken down into three subfocus, namely (1) the message of peace in the Qur'an, (2) the message of peace in the Hadith, and (3) message of peace in Medina Charter. This study uses literature review. Data of this research is the theory and concepts of Islam, peace and war. The source of research data are books, papers, journals, and articles, as well as relevant research reports. It is concluded that (1) Messages of peace in the Qur'an is the outline (the main points), (2) Messages of peace in the Hadith is more detailed (description in detail), and (3) Messages peace in the Medina Charter is applicable (implementable). Al-Quran, the Hadith, and the Medina Charter, as well as historical facts have proved that Islam is a religion of peace (rahmatan lil Alamin) which is recognized not only by Muslims but also recognized by people of other faiths. Therefore, believers of other religions no longer need to worry about the development of Islam

    Efektivitas Pembelajaran Matematika Melalui Penerapan Model Kooperatif Tipe Think Pair Share (Tps)

    Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis efektivitas pembelajaran matematika melalui penerapan model kooperatif tipe think pair share (TPS) dengan mengacu pada kriteria keefektifan pembelajaran, yaitu: (1) hasil belajar, (2) aktivitas siswa dalam proses pembelajaran, (3) respon siswa terhadap proses pembelajaran (4) keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Jenis penelitian ini adalah pra-eksperimen dengan desain the one group pretest posttest. Populasi penelitian yaitu seluruh siswa kelas XSMA MAS Guppi Batuara Kabupaten Bulukumba sebanyak 60 orang yang tersebar pada 3 kelas dengan sampel sebanyak 20 orang dari kelas X IPS 2 yang diperoleh dengan teknik random sampling. Penelitian dilaksanakan selama 6 kali pertemuan yang diawali dengan free tes, perlakuan tindakan, dan pos tes. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes hasil belajar, lembar observasi aktivitas siswa dan angket respon siswa serta keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Selanjutnya data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan analisis deskriptif dan infrensial.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Rata-rata hasil belajar siswa setelah diterapkan model think pair share sebesar 78,75 dan memenuhi tuntas klasikal dengan nilai gain ternormalisasi yaitu 0,60 berada pada kategori sedang yang meningkat dari hasil belajar sebelum tindakan yaitu sebesar 44,40; (2) Aktivitas siswa berada pada kategori aktif dengan rata-rata 76,42%. (3) Angket respon siswa menunjukkan kategori positif dengan rata-rata 71% (4) Keterlaksanaan pembelajaran berada pada kategori terlaksana sangat baik dengan rata-rata 3,59%. Dari hasil analisis inferensial menunjukkan bahwa skor rata-rata hasil belajar siswa melalui metode think pair share menunjukkan bahwa nilai Sig. (2–tailed) yaitu 0,000 < 0,05 maka H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima, ketuntasan hasil belajar secara klasikal menunjukkan bahwa nilai Zhit Ztabel yaitu 2,11 1,64 artinya secara inferensial ketuntasan hasil belajar secara klasikal signifikan, rata-rata gain ternormalisasi diperoleh nilai = 1,73 dan karena diperoleh = 1,73 maka H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima, artinya rata-rata gain ternormalisasi pada siswa kelas XSMA MAS Guppi Batuara Kabupaten Bulukumba 0,29. Dengan demikian pembelajaran matematika efektif melalui metode Think pair share pada siswa kelas XSMA MAS Guppi Batuara Kabupaten Bulukumba

    The Influence of Emotional Intelligence and Self-efficacy of Learning Motivation in the Calculus Courses of Students STMIK Bina Adinata

    The study aims to find out: (1) The direct influence of emotional intelligence towards learning motivation, (2) direct influence of self-efficacy towards learning motivation, and (3) the simultaneous direct influence between emotional intelligence and self-efficacy towards learning motivation. The samples in this study were students of the computer System study Program of STMIK Bina Adinata in Bulukumba Regency which amounted to 100 people with sampling techniques by random sampling. The research method used in this study was ex-post facto research. Data is analyzed with inferential statistics. The conclusion in this study as follows (1) The emotional intelligence is influential positive and is directly against the motivation of learning with a standardized regression coefficient of 0.261 with a value of p = 0.006 < 0.05. (2) The effective and positive effect of the self-efficacy of the learning motivation with standardized regression coefficient of 0.292 with a value of p = 0.002 < 0.05. (3) The emotional intelligence and self-efficacy jointly influence positive and significant to the motivation of learning with standardized regression coefficient of 0.261 x 0.292 = 0.0762 with value p = 0.006 x 0.002 = 0.000012 < 0.0
