    Get PDF
An order picking activities refers to an act of retrieving any items from the storage locations in the warehouses. In common situation, these activities is often performed by human. Due to that condition, high human error and high cost impact were spotted on a manual order picking activities. Thus, previous studies have developed various methods to support the practitioners especially in creating a more efficient order picking process. In spite of the vast discussion and evidence that shows an order pickers tend to deviate from its optimal routes and putting the efficiency of these routing approaches at stake, very little discussion were focus on the implementation of smart application through IT usage and device to reduce the problem faced in the warehouse. Thus, it is the main intention of this this paper to presents a detailed analysis on the relative factors affecting the efficiency of order picking activities in the warehouse and suggest the smart trolley as a solution to overcome the problem. The smart trolley apps is then proposed to increase the picking process in warehouse. The results of this paper indicate that extensive use of smart trolley apps as a solution to a more effective ways of order picking

In todays competitive logistics environment, green and sustainable approaches are gaining academic interest. This paper aims to develop a theoretical framework to enhance understanding and academic knowledge on the antecedents of green warehouse practices (GWP). This paper employs content analysis approach to extract the potential factors to GWP. It then reviews and synthesises the GWP factors by applying two prominent management concepts of stakeholder and institutional theories. Through the review and discussion, six GWP factors; employee involvement, top management commitment, owner support, governmental pressure, industry competition, and customer demand are highlighted. Additionally, six propositions of GWP are presented and the framework developed in this conceptual paper underlines the internal and external GWP instigators. The conceptual nature of this paper offers a preliminary insights of GWP where the synergy between external and internal elements must coexist to successfully implement GWP. The developed theoretical framework presents a platform for future empirical GWP studies

A Theoretical Framework on Customer Satisfaction in an Automotive Lubricant Market

Malaysia was reported to have the highest car ownership ratio in the ASEAN region, with 3.3 people per vehicle. As a result of this rapidly growing automotive sector, Malaysia experienced a rise in the demand for premium lubricants. Recognizing the fact that most automobile users would rather pay a mechanic or workshop to perform an oil change rather than do it themselves, hence, this study seeks to understand the antecedents that influence automotive lubricant consumer satisfaction. A content analysis approach is used in this study to discover potential antecedents of consumers' quality-of-service experiences. The SERVQUAL model is then employed as the theoretical foundation for investigating and synthesizing the antecedents. Five antecedents are addressed during the examination and discussion: tangibility, dependability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. In addition, five quality-of-service experience propositions are offered, and the framework developed in this conceptual study highlights the quality-of-service experience instigators. This study's conceptual nature provides preliminary insights into the quality-of-service experience in the automotive lubricant market. This study contributes to the body of knowledge by illuminating the antecedents that promote service quality, resulting in satisfied customers who will in turn stimulate the Malaysian automotive lubricant market, which can lead to a significant increase in the industry's contribution to Malaysia's gross domestic product (GDP) rate. The developed theoretical framework serves as a foundation for future empirical studies of quality-of-service experience

Waste trade, like those of other resources, has grown globally. The waste trade must be implemented in order to ensure environmental sustainability and the transition to a circular economy (CE). Waste trade, in the context of CE, serves as a basis for the development of circular business operations by facilitating end-of-life product management activities such as product return, reuse, recycling, and refurbishment. China is regarded as a global leader in recycling and solid waste disposal. Solid waste management is the process of reusing manufactured products to recover and reuse resources including plastics. However, the reassessment of the quality of traded recyclable materials has sparked a global waste governance dilemma. The goal of this study is to bring attention to the environmental consequences of plastic waste in a transition to a CE and the overview of China's national sword policy prohibition law. Using a qualitative approach, this study will analyse, assess, and formulate the practices of the waste trade that is now practised in the business. Various types of waste and how they cause emissions, waste trade and CE, China’s national sword policy and the consequences of worldwide plastic trade on businesses and the environment will be discussed. Additionally, a few steps that should be addressed including appropriate waste management and public awareness are also discussed
