Nitrate in soil solution with use of plant cocktails as green manure in diferent tillage systems in the brazilian semi-arid

Tillage systems strongly affect nutrient transformations and plant availability. The objective of this study was to assess the nitrate dynamic in soil solution in different tillage systems with use of plant cocktail as green manure in fertilized melon (Cucumis melon) in Brazilian semi-arid. The treatments were arranged in four blocks in a split-plot design and included three types of cover crops and two tillage systems, conventional tillage (CT) and no-till (NT). The data showed no strong effect of plant cocktails composition on NO3-N dynamic in the soil. Mean concentration of NO3-N ranged from 19.45 mg L-1 at 15 cm to 60.16 mg L-1 at 50 cm soil depth, indicating high leachability. No significant differences were observed between NT and CT treatments for 15 cm depth. The high soil moisture content at ~ 30 cm depth concentrated high NO3-N in all treatments, mean of 54.27 mg L-1 to NT and 54.62 mg L-1 to CT. The highest NO3-N concentration was observed at 50 cm depth in TC (60.16 mg L-1). High concentration of NO3-N in CT may be attributed to increase in decomposition of soil organic matter and crop residues incorporated into the soil

Taxa de adequação de uso das terras e riscos de degradação agroambiental.

Ainda há grandes conflitos entre agricultura e meio ambiente, apesar da crescente adoção de sistemas de produção mais adequados à conservação dos recursos naturais. O objetivo deste trabalho foi analisar a taxa de adequação de uso das terras da quadrícula de Ribeirão Preto-SP, identificando-se inclusive as taxas de sobreutilização e subutilização, além de eventuais riscos de degradação agroambiental. A partir do cruzamento do mapa de uso atual das terras com o mapa de aptidão agrícola foi gerado o mapa de adequação de uso. A área apresentou uso adequado para 50,76% das terras; subutilização para 28,67%; e sobreutilização para 13,99%. De um modo geral a área apresentou risco baixo ou muito baixo de degradação agroambiental

Evaluation of lean practices in warehouses: an analysis of Brazilian reality

© 2020, Emerald Publishing Limited. Purpose: This article aims to investigate the most applied lean warehouse practices in Brazilian warehouses. Design/methodology/approach: To perform this research, three phases were conducted: a literature review, a multiple case study, and an analysis of lean warehouses practices implementation by an engineering committee. Thus, both qualitative and quantitative approaches were used. Additionally, the study has an applied nature, with an exploratory and descriptive character. Findings: Results showed that regardless of the type of criterion used, the most implanted practices are those that do not involve investments in technology. On the other hand, practices like RFID and Cross Docking systems were not found in any of the operations, which shows numerous possibilities for improvement. Originality/value: The main contribution of this article is to initiate a debate about the management and productivity of Brazilian warehouses, a theme still little explored by the academic community despite the importance that the logistic scenario represents for Brazil as an emerging country and leader in Latin America, participating actively in several global supply chains

Comparacao de sistemas de controle de ervas daninhas nas culturas de milho e feijao, isoladas e consorciadas.

Foram conduzidos experimentos no Campo Experimental de Santana do Ipanema, no Sertao Alagoano, durante 4 anos, com a finalidade de comparar os sistemas de controle de plantas daninhas nas culturas de milho e feijao, isoladas e consorciadas. O trabalho constou de 3 experimentos: feijao isolado, milho isolado e consorcio, com delineamento experimental de blocos ao acaso, num total de 12 tratamentos, por experimento, com 3 repeticoes, abrangendo metodos culturais manuais, mecanicos e quimicos
