Persuasive Strategies Used in Jokowi's Speech in His Governor Election Campaign

This present study is conducted to find out the types of persuasive strategies which were used in Jokowi's speech. This study is aimed to seek the types of persuasive strategies and also the speech function related to the persuasive strategies used by Jokowi. This study is supported by Beebe & Beebe's theory of persuasive strategy (2012) and Holmes theory of speech function (1996). The writer analyzed the speech in a standup comedy used in Jokowi campaign in 5th October 2012. The writer found eight characteristics of persuasive strategies that Jokowi used: using evidence to tell a story , considering using appeals to several emotion (hope, courage, pride,) using specific evidence, using appropriate fear appear, using new evidence, and using concrete example that help your listener visualize what you describe. The writer also found the speech function that related in persuasive strategies in Jokowi's speech as being referential, directive, metalinguistic, expressive, and phatic

Codes Used by Two Pairs of Identical Twins

This study is about the codes used by two pairs of identical twins to their co-twin in their daily conversation. It is supported by Wardaugh's (2006) and Stromswold's theories (2004) of codes and language development. The data was gathered from the utterances produced in the given role plays. The findings reveal that seven types of codes were used by these pairs of twins. The similarities are all of them did not use secret language and both pairs mostly used Indonesian codes. The differences are the frequency of each code used and in general, Pair 2 is more formal than Pair 1. In conclusion, having Javanese parents does not always mean using Javanese codes when communicating with others and although they are twins, they do not always use similar codes. These differences might happen because of the differences in religion and travel experience

Corrosion Rate of Copper and Iron in Seawater Based on Resistance Measurement

Copper and iron metal wire corrosion in artificial sea water have been investigated in three corrosion systems, in the (i) closed bath, (ii) opened or air exposed bath, and (iii) aerated bath. The aim of our investigation is to determine the effect of oxygen contained in the air to the metals' corrosivity. Artificial sea water was prepared by dissolving 173.59 g sodium chloride and 4.91 g potassium chloride in 7.00 kg of water at 230C.The corrosion experiment was carried out under the constant temperature of 32 0C. Decrease of metal masses during corrosion was monitored by measuring the metal resistance change. Our experiment provided the corrosion rate in g.cm-2.s-1 as 4.01 x 10-7 (in closed bath), 4.01 x 10-6 (in opened bath) and 9.43 x 10-6 (in aerated bath) of copper metal, and 2.12 x 10-6 (in closed bath), 5.99 x 10-6 (in opened bath), and 1.07 x 10-5 (in aerated bath) of iron metal. Upaya Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Passing Bawah melalui Pendekatan Media Bola Karet pada Siswa Kelas V SD

The problem of this research is whether the media approach to learning using a rubber ball can improve learning outcomes of passing under a volleyball on student V SD Negeri 08 Mentibar Kabupaten Sambas. The purpose of this research is to determine whether the media approach rubber ball can improve learning outcomes of students passing under volleyball. Forms of research used in this research is the Classroom Action Research (CAR). Classroom Action Research (CAR) was conducted in two cycles. Where each cycle includes planning, action, observing, and reflecting. Where the research was conducted in SD Negeri 8 Mentibar Kabupaten Sambas and the research subjects were all students of Class V SD Negeri 08 Mentibar Kabupaten Sambas consisting of 22 persons. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics. Of passing the test results under volleyball, known to the average value of the Pre Implementation of 67.32 while the average value in the first cycle at 71 and on to the second cycle is equal to 80. Manajemen Konflik Dalam Proses Suksesi Di PT Windu Mas Kencana

Suatu organisasi atau Perusahaan tidak akan lepas dari konflik. Perusahaan keluarga juga tidak lepas dari konflik. Suksesi kepemimpinan terutama dalam Perusahaan keluarga memiliki potensi menimbulkan konflik. Konflik terjadi dalan Perusahaan keluarga di PT Windu Mas Kencana. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi sumber konflik dan potensi konflik di PT Windu Mas Kencana. Pendekatan dalam penelitian menggunakan cara kualitatif, sedangkan jenis penelitiannya adalah deskriptif. Penentuan narasumber menggunakan cara purposive sampling. Jenis data yang digunakan yaitu data primer dan sekunder. Prosedur pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara. Analisis data dengan cara deskriptif, sedangkan uji validasi menggunakan triangulasi sumber. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penyebab terjadinya konflik dalam PT Windu Mas Kencana adalah adanya perbedaan nilai-nilai antara generasi pertama dan generasi kedua. Dengan demikian konflik yang terjadi lebih disebabkan karena variabel pribadi
