BACKGROUND: Phacoemulsification surgery has the ability to deeply alter the segment anterior morphology, especially in eye with shallow anterior chamber (AC), narrow anterior chamber angle (ACA). However, the changes of anterior chamber depth (ACD) and ACA on the close angle suspect eyes after phacoemulsification have not been mentioned in many studies. So, we conduct this research. AIM: To evaluate the alteration in the ACA and ACD after phacoemulsification in the close angle suspect eyes. METHODS: Interventional study with no control group. Subjects were the primary angle closure suspect (PACS) eyes, that were operated by phacoemulsification with intraocular lens (IOL) at Glaucoma Department of VNIO from December 2017 to October 2018. RESULTS: 29 PACS eyes with cataract were operated by phacoemulsification with intraocular lens. After 3 months of monitoring, the average ACD augmented from 2.082 ± 0.244 to 3.673 ± 0.222 mm. AOD500 increase from 0.183 ± 0.088 to 0.388 ± 0.132 μm, AOD750 increased from 0.278 ± 0.105 to 0.576 ± 0.149 μm. The TISA500 enlarged from 0.068 ± 0.033 to 0.140 ± 0.052 mm2, TISA750 enlarged from 0.125 ± 0.052 to 0.256 ± 0.089 mm2 at the third month (p < 0.01). CONCLUSION: Phacoemulsification surgery increases the ACD and enlarged the angle in the PACS eyes

Intellectual Capital Accounting – Value and Benefits for the Sustainable Development of Enterprises

The research indicates that the existence of intellectual capital accounting which has been recognized as the cost in production and business costs by current accounting practices were falsify the value and their using value and partly conceal exploiting potential of these. Intellectual capital has an important role in determining the business strategy, developing of tools to measure the results of business and enhancing the competitiveness of enterprises. Therefore, intellectual capital should be recognized as an asset (intangible) on financial reports to help the users of information to have more financial information in terms of the potential ability of the business. In Vietnam, however, intellectual capital accounting has not really become popular and are considered as a new area by both researchers and practical persons. To achieve its objectives, this study uses Likert scale with values from 1 to 5 based on 5 criteria (accounting policies, environmental accounting, the method of valuation, the system determines the value of intellectual capital in enterprise and economic benefits) to assess the situation of intellectual capital accounting in Vietnamese enterprises. The research results will be the basis for the orientation in completing the provisions on the recognition, measurement and intellectual capital reporting on financial reports so as to sustainable develop in the context of integration. Performance analysis for three cases of outage probability in one-way DF full-duplex relaying network with presence of direct link

    Get PDF
In this paper, the one-way decode-and-forward (DF) full-duplex relaying network system with presence of direct link is investigated. In the analysis section, we derived the exact, lower, and upper bound for outage probability (OP) with maximal ratio combining (MRC) at the receiver. Furthermore, the system performance's analytical expressions are verified by using the Monte Carlo simulation. In addition, we investigated the effect of the main parameters on the OP of the proposed system. Finally, we can sate that the simulation curves overlap the analytical curves to convince the analysis section. This research can provide a novel recommendation for the communication network

Lower and upper bound form of outage probability in one-way AF full-duplex relaying network under impact of direct link

This paper proposed and investigated the one-way amplify-and-forward (AF) full-duplex relaying network under impact of direct link. For the system performance analysis, the exact and lower and upper bound form of the system outage probability (OP) are investigated and derived. In this system model, authors assume that the E uses the MRC (maximal ratio combining) technique. Finally, we can see that the analytical and the simulation values overlap to verify the analytical section using the Monte Carlo simulation. Also, we investigate the influence of the system primary parameters on the proposed system OP

The lasting effects of innovation on firm profitability: Panel evidence from a transitional economy

    Get PDF
This study is the first to study the lasting effects of innovation on firm profitability in Vietnam. Using a unique panel dataset for the period 2005-2015, our results show that innovators achieve higher profit in comparison with non-innovating firms. The positive effects of innovation on firm profitability are observed not only in the short term but also in the longer term. The benefits of innovation for firm profitability can be seen in higher export probability, better productivity, better access to formal credit, and the ability to secure government support, but only after innovation

How To Motivate Language Learning Environment: CALL Before And After The Pandemic Of Covid-19

Integrating information technology into teaching and learning foreign languages holds significant importance for the education system of our country. This serves as a crucial foundation for shaping the core generation of the future, aiding the nation's development, and advancing on the path of international integration. However, the application of information technology in foreign language education is currently prevalent primarily in schools located within major cities. To achieve the good effectiveness of Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL), suitable solutions tailored to specific localities are necessary, which is the motivation for this study. I conducted this study focusing on high school students in Nha Trang to understand their attitudes towards the use of information technology in learning English before and after the pandemic Covid 19. This understanding was then used to discuss and propose several appropriate solutions aimed at cultivating a self-directed, creative, and engaging learning environment. This research has the potential to contribute towards generating general solutions for the implementation of information technology in teaching and learning across Vietnam

Level of Determinants Impact on Buyer’s Purchasing Intention in Motor Liability Insurance: Case of Vietnam

    Get PDF
Motor liability insurance has been included in the compulsory insurance category that each vehicle owner of every type of motor vehicle must participate in in Vietnam. However, in fact, the participation in this type of insurance is not popular and not strictly managed. This paper presents an approach to modeling and analyzing the possible determinants that may affect the intention to buy motor liability insurance for motor vehicle owners in the North of Vietnam. The target audience of this study is motorcycle owners. Based on the theories of buying intention, buying behavior and the specific characteristics of this insurance, this study has proposed a model with 4 factors influencing intention to participate in the insurance: Attitudes towards risk and insurance, subjective standards, Insurance Perceptions, and Product Accessibility. Taken together, these factors model a consumer's tendency toward insurance intentions for motorbike owners. The results show that all of the above factors have influence on the intention of motorcycle owners to participate in insurance.
