This paper analyzes six plays by well-known American playwrights from the point of the new economic criticism in order to show that American drama is a valuable literary treasure which contains a lot of information about the American socio-economic developments. The Long Day’s Journey into Night by Eugene O’Neil, Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller and The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams reveal the deterioration of American Dream after the Stock Market Crash of 1929, while the David Mamet’s plays American Buffalo, Glengarry Glen Ross and Oleeana provide us with the USA in which the American dream has been utterly destroyed under the neoliberal policies. The reading of these plays from the perspective of the new economic criticism has revealed the long tradition of critical attitude of American playwrights towards the USA and proved that American drama is a huge cultural capital which provides a wealth of information about the American experience

Entrepreneurship – cross-curricular and interdisciplinary topic in Elementary School

National Curriculum specifies entrepreneurship as a cross-curricular and interdisciplinary topic aimed on interconnection of educational areas and subjects in a harmonious whole with the aim of linking the different competencies of students. Entrepreneurial learning specifics are clear links between the acquisition of knowledge, skills and attitudes, and their practical application. University College of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Management „Nikola Šubić Zrinski“ conducted project named Introduction of Entrepreneurship as a Cross curricular Them in Primary Schools in order to develop the curriculum for entrepreneurial learning. Project was held in the school year 2013./2014. in Elementary School Precko, Zagreb. The project was attended by the school principal, pedagogue, professional staff, all the teachers, students and their parents. Project was implemented in every classroom and integrated across all subjects with special attention to psycho physical development of students. The professors were grouped in educational areas like language and communication area, mathematics, science, technology and informatics area, social sciences area, humanities area, art area, and physical and health area. By interactive teaching methods pupils adopted basic economic concepts: entrepreneurship, procurement of material resources, production, creation of new value, selling, price, distribution of income, consumption, advertisement etc., and produced a final product presented by School to the general public, parents and the local community

The aim of this study was to determine allele and genotype frequencies of bovine DGAT1 gene encoding the diacylglycerol-O-acyltransferase , enzym that catalyses the final step of triglyceride synthesis, and its association with deposition and fatty acid composition of fat tissue in fattening beef cattle. DGAT1 K232A polymorphism was genotyped with PCR/RFLP method from DNA extracted from longissimus muscle of 26 Simmental beef cattle from intensive production. K allele of DGAT1 gene was less frequent in heifers (0.08%) than in bulls (0.27%), with overall allelic frequency of 17% K allele. Overall genotype frequency was higher for AA than KA, while KK genotype, associated with increased accumulation of fat tissue, was not found. No deviation from Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium was found. Heifers showed a higher degree of carcass fattening and higher degree of unsaturation of fat than bulls; however, there was no interaction between sex and DGAT1 gene. Effect of DGAT1 gene polymorphism on deposition and fatty acid composition of fat tissue was not found

    Simsonov pravac i poopćenja

At the beginning of this thesis Simson’s line with its properties is defined. It’s a line that encompasses the orthogonal projection of a point P of a circle of a triangle ABC on the line’s that belong to the sides of the triangle. Furthermore, a set of colinear points belonging to Steiner’s line is defined. In the following chapter the properties of the Steiner’s line are listed and proved. Additionally we introduce the link between Steiner’s line and Simson’s line. Third chapter is dedicated to the relationship between the two Simson’s lines, while in the fourth we meet generalized Simson’s line and its relationship to Simson’s line. At the very end we observe Simson’s line of each of the vertices of a cyclic quadrilateral

The lady personifying Hungaria desperately calls the merciless Austria to account for her offensive action in 1527 and she asks the gods for help in her unfair situation. She describes her kingdom as being despoiled and destroyed by external and internal wars. If Hungaria finds no support and help from the Christian states, she will be compelled to ask for the help of her earlier enemy: who was her enemy once, will be her most important friend. Hungaria reminds the aggressor that even if she is in favour of the military and financial assistance of the lion (the Bohemian king, namely Ferdinand I), she will not be able to conquer her, indeed King John I will overcome both in the struggle. The abandoned Hungaria, lacerated and plundered by calamities, is complaining again to the celestial gods. She, as the narrator of the poem, laments the insurrections which devastate her country. She says that not only foreigners, but also her own children have already consumed her in their cruel blows. The lady fought alone against the Turks without any exterior support and she suffered their blows of weapons as Atlas bore the whole sky on his shoulders. She was determined for the historical role ordained for her by destiny. The tormented country instructs her children to confirm King John I in his kingdom
