Chapter Seasonal dynamics of cadmium and plumbum in the Turia and Pripyat rivers
The anthropogenic pressure on aquatic ecosystems leads to a significant transformation of their quantitative and qualitative composition. Many rivers of Ukraine are polluted. The object of research was the surface waters of the rivers Pripyat and Turiya (Volyn region, Ukraine). Analysis of the qualitative and quantitative composition of toxicants (Cd, Pb) showed that the waters of the rivers have high level of pollution. A negative phenomenon in the studied reservoirs is a significant excess of concentrations of heavy metals: lead in 118 times and cadmium in 110 times in August
Duals of U(N) LGT with staggered fermions
Various approaches to construction of dual formulations of non-abelian
lattice gauge theories are reviewed. In the case of U(N) LGT we use a theory of
the Weingarten functions to construct a dual formulation. In particular, the
dual representations are constructed 1) for pure gauge models in all
dimensions, 2) in the strong coupling limit for the models with arbitrary
number of flavours and 3) for two-dimensional U(N) QCD with staggered fermions.
Applications related to the finite temperature/density QCD are discussed.Comment: 8 pages, Proceedings for the 35th International Symposium on Lattice

Results of the experimental research of the heat-transfer jet pressure to the rock surface during thermal reaming of the borehole
The performed analysis of scientific sources confirms the
existence of a small number of publications devoted to the experimental
research of the gasdynamics and plasmodynamics of jets used as a heat-
transfer medium in the thermal methods of mine rocks destruction. There
are almost no experimental and theoretical publications related to the
multiple-jet plasmotrons research. The expediency of own experimental
researches performing has been substantiated concerning the lateral inflow
of heat-transfer medium high-speed jets on the borehole surface. An
experimental research has been made of the interaction between the heat-
transfer medium high-speed jets and the surface of the borehole imitated
by the through duct. The further prospects of this work are the following:
to determine the gas velocity along the lateral surface of the through duct
and the value of the heating capacity coefficient from the heat-transfer
medium to the lateral surface of the through duct, which imitates the rock
surface in the borehole. These parameters are required for creating a
mathematical model of the brittle destruction of rocks
Second language specific health communication anxiety in Canadian Russian-speaking immigrants: How it affects willingness to use second language mental healthcare services
The percentage of the Canadian population that reports being or having been an immigrant has been steadily increasing for the past 50 years, such that more than 20% of Canada’s population identifies as foreign-born. As a result, a large proportion of the users of healthcare find themselves in language discordant situations in a healthcare system that they might not be comfortable navigating. The problems associated with using one’s second language (L2) in a healthcare setting might be especially salient in the mental healthcare context, where the quality of diagnosis, treatment, and overall services is highly dependent on language. How does the anticipation of having to use one’s second language affect immigrants’ experience of the seeking and obtaining mental healthcare services? Are there factors in immigrants’ social environment that might influence this experience? This thesis investigates the role of second language communication anxiety in the context Russian-speaking immigrants’ use of mental healthcare services in their L2 (HCA2m). First, the link between HCA2m and immigrants’ willingness to use L2 mental healthcare services is investigated. Second, predictive certainty, or immigrants’ confidence in their ability to predict how interactions and treatment in an L2 context will unfold, and their actual predicted outcome are investigated as potential components of the mechanism that underlies the association between HCA2m and willingness. Finally, the role of immigrants’ social networks is investigated in order to understand how social variables might play a role in the hypothesized mediation model. Results indicated that HCA2m was negatively associated with the willingness to use L2 mental healthcare services and that this relationship was entirely mediated by immigrants’ predictive certainty, such that higher HCA2m was associated with lower predictive certainty, which was associated with reduced willingness to use L2 mental healthcare. Finally, the results of this project failed to support the hypothesis that certain characteristics of immigrants social network are associated with predictive certainty, suggesting that perhaps the nature of one's L2 social network does not play a role in modulating the mechanism by which HCA2m affects the willingness to use L2 mental healthcare services
About Problems of Decision Making in Social and Economic Systems
The reasons of a restricted applicability of the models of decision making in social and economic
systems. 3 basic principles of growth of their adequacy are proposed: "localization" of solutions, direct account of
influencing of the individual on process of decision making ("subjectivity of objectivity") and reduction of
influencing of the individual psychosomatic characteristics of the subject (" objectivity of subjectivity ") are offered.
The principles are illustrated on mathematical models of decision making in ecologically- economic and social
systems
