    Get PDF
Purpose - This study investigates the attributes that impact hotel users' experiences, satisfaction levels, and engagement behaviors through dimensions of the room rate strategy in the context of luxury hotels in Vietnam tourism market. Design/methodology/approach - A questionnaire was prepared, drawing from the scales in literature. A PLS-SEM tool was used to measure and test research hypotheses from the data set of 319 completed surveys in the online and offline form. Findings - The results indicate that higher the service quality towards dynamic hotel room rates, higher are customer satisfaction and engagement behaviors (CEBs). The significant perception of hotel users is mostly caused by “price fairness,” and it in turns, influences customer satisfaction levels. In particular, customer satisfaction serves as a partial mediation on customers' perception of the hotel room rate strategy when service quality and CEBs are perceived. Originality - Understanding the variables that predict room rate strategy proposes suggestions for practitioners and hospitality researchers. This study empirically examines the extent to which factors discussed may influence the hotel room rate strategy accordingly to heighten customers' satisfaction and engagement behaviors. © 2019 University of Rijeka. The photocatalytic activity of g-C3N4/Ta2O5 composite under visible light irradiation

    Get PDF
The g-C3N4/Ta2O5 composites were synthesized by heating mixtures of urea and Ta2O5 at 500 oC. The as-prepared samples were denoted as CN-500/TaO-W, where W is weight ratio of urea/Ta2O5 and equals to 3, 4 and 5. The materials were characterized by X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and Ultraviolet-visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. The photocatalytic activity of CN-500/TaO-W samples was assessed by degradation of methylene blue in aqueous solution under visible light. Among them, CN-500/TaO-4 exhibited the best performance. An enhancement in photocatalytic activity of the composites is believed to be the presence of g-C3N4. Keywords. g-C3N4, Ta2O5, photocatalytic activity, methylene blue, g-C3N4/Ta2O5 composite

The study aims to enhance the customer experience on hotel websites in the context of venue's booking channels to others. The online filed survey is conducted with 321 internet bookers. The exploratory factor analysis is adopted to analyze the data. The progression of customer satisfaction proceeds in a linear fashion on luxury (ranking from 4-star to 5-star hotels) websites. Moreover, the study reveals how hotel website performance would affect the levels of customer attitude and its sustainable development in the context of perceived e-service quality. The exploratory results show that customer satisfaction in online environment has identical processes in the context of up-scale hotel industry. The female group compared to male group, has more sensitive to perceive the impact of functionality of lodging website in developing customer satisfaction. Caution is advised in generalizing findings of this study due to stratified sampling even though the study confirms results of previously conducted studies. This study provides practical tips for website sustainable progress especially for hotel management to pay more attention to the e-service formation process. Therefore, the appropriate marketing strategy can be established to fill gender specific expectations towards individual degree of customer satisfaction.Internal Grant Agency of Faculty of Management and Economics, Tomas Bata University in Zlin [IGA/FaME/2018/009

    Get PDF
The main purpose of this study is to examine the causal relationships between components of customer-based brand equity for a tourist destination. We have collected data from 252 South Korean tourists in Danang City and tested some hypotheses by applying structural equation modeling (SEM). Results show that: (1) destination brand awareness has a significant and positive effect on destination brand image, but not on destination perceived quality and destination brand loyalty; (2) destination brand image has positive and direct influences on destination perceived quality and destination brand loyalty; and (3) destination perceived quality has significant positive impacts on destination brand loyalty. Lastly, these findings have managerial implications for decision makers

Enhancing the organizational citizenship behavior for the environment: the roles of green training and organizational culture

    Get PDF
The environmental concern has become an emerging topic in organization's human resource management strategy, especially in improving employee's environmental behavior at work Thus, the organizational citizenship behavior toward the environment (OCBE) has been currently attracting scholars in management. However, published studies contain research gaps in investigation of the relationships between both green training and organizational culture and OCBE, especially in the hotel industry. Following the social exchange and Ability-Motivation Opportunity theories, this study aims to examine the effects of two green practices on OCBE and the moderating role of green organizational culture to the effect of green training on OCBE. A quantitative approach with survey strategy is employed and conducted in 4-5 star hotels to test these relationships. The PLS-SEM and K-means Cluster Analysis techniques are applied to analyze data. The findings reveal that green training and organizational culture positively influence OCBE. Also, the effect of green training on OCBE is moderated by green organizational culture. Finally, our study provides limitations of research and further studies, and the implications for management practices concerned with improving employee's voluntary eco-behavior in the hotel industry.Internal Grant Agency of FaME TBU [IGA/FaME/2018/009

The determinants of foreign direct investment in ASEAN: New evidence from financial integration factor

    Get PDF
This paper examines the impact of financial integration and other variables on foreign direct investment capital inflows in ASEAN3 (Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam) and ASEAN5 (Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Singapore). Other variables are the gross domestic product, interest rate, infrastructure facility, labor cost, and trade openness. This paper uses the panel ordinary least square estimation with the method of first differencing for the period between 1996 and 2016. The authors divide ASEAN member countries into two groups by the level of economic development. The findings indicate that the coefficient of financial integration is positive and significant at 1 % level of significance on foreign direct investment capital inflows. The empirical results also support the hypothesis that foreign direct investment in ASEAN is positively correlated to market size, infrastructure facilities, and negatively correlated to labor cost as well as trade openness in ASEAN3.Internal Grant Agency of FaME TBU [IGA/FaME/2018/019
