Fast Stochastic Hierarchical Bayesian MAP for Tomographic Imaging

Any image recovery algorithm attempts to achieve the highest quality reconstruction in a timely manner. The former can be achieved in several ways, among which are by incorporating Bayesian priors that exploit natural image tendencies to cue in on relevant phenomena. The Hierarchical Bayesian MAP (HB-MAP) is one such approach which is known to produce compelling results albeit at a substantial computational cost. We look to provide further analysis and insights into what makes the HB-MAP work. While retaining the proficient nature of HB-MAP's Type-I estimation, we propose a stochastic approximation-based approach to Type-II estimation. The resulting algorithm, fast stochastic HB-MAP (fsHBMAP), takes dramatically fewer operations while retaining high reconstruction quality. We employ our fsHBMAP scheme towards the problem of tomographic imaging and demonstrate that fsHBMAP furnishes promising results when compared to many competing methods.Comment: 5 Pages, 4 Figures, Conference (Accepted to Asilomar 2017

Objective: The objective of present investigation was to develop rivastigmine tartrate transdermal film employing factorial design. Methods: The formulations were designed by Design-Expert software-version10. A series of films were prepared by solvent casting method using polymers, plasticizer, permeation enhancer and other solvents. Transdermal films were evaluated for flatness, drug content, tensile strength, in vitro drug release and ex vivo skin permeation study. Results: The flatness was found 100% (percentage) for all film formulations. The drug content of transdermal film was found in the range of 96.51±0.2 to 98.81±0.3%. The tensile strength of transdermal film was found in the range of 6.28±0.06 to 11.56±0.03 N/mm2 (newton/millimeter2) and in vitro drug release at 24th h (hour) was found in the range of 86.24±0.25 to 96.1±0.48%% for various formulations and ex vivo skin permeation study results at 24th h was found in the range of 85.83±0.74 to 97.36±0.93%.Conclusion: These results support the feasibility of developing transdermal film of rivastigmine tartrate for human applications. Thus, transdermal delivery of rivastigmine tartrate film is a safe, painless and cost effective drug delivery system for Alzheimer's patients

A conceptual study on Cosmetic Toxicity w.s.r. to Dushi Visha

In present state thousands of hurtful toxins are accumulated in environment are taken by the human being itself. Cosmetics are one of them. Cosmetics are those elements which are used to improve the appearance of the human body. They are generally combinations of chemical compounds, some being derived from natural sources, many being synthetic. But the people are not aware of adverse effects of these chemical substances on human body due to its long-term usage. Therefore, this study was carried out which was conceptual type in nature. The aim & objectives of this study was to study the concept Dushivisha & to study the toxic effects of cosmetics on human body & correlate the Dushivisha w.s.r. cumulative toxicity of cosmetics. All the relevant material was compiled from Brihatrayi and available commentaries on it. Research articles are also searched from various websites. All the references were collected & analyzed & finally conclusion was drawn. Conclusion of this study is that cosmetics can be included under cumulative type of toxicity. Due to cumulative toxicity hazards of this substance not seen on the body immediately but they can be seen slowly after their long-term use. This cumulative type of toxicity is similar to Dushivisha concept described by Ayurveda
