    Get PDF
Surface electromyography has been used to disease diagnosis, pathologic analysis and muscular disorder. In this paper, we introduce an MATLAB based algorithmfor processing of sEMG signals of paralytic patients. The signal to Noise ratio has been investigated using Hamming window, Hanning window and Rectangular window. In this paper ten paralytic subjects have contributed by performing different finger movement activities. A comparative analysis of signal to noise ratio for finger movement activities has been calculated using hamming, hanning and rectangular window

A Robust Finger Knuckle Print Authentication using Topothesy and fractal dimension

    Get PDF
This paper presents the finger knuckle based biometric authentication system using the approaches like structure entropy, GSHP (Gaussian smoothed High pass), GSOD (Gaussian Smoothed Oriented Directives) and also the well known method for surface roughness measurement called the fractal profiles represented by Topothesy and fractal dimension which describe  not only the roughness but also the affine self similarity. We have also implemented Daisy descriptor for the representation of texture. The results of fractal parameters along with the refined scores are comparable to those of the compcode and impcompcode

    Exhaustive Study of Median filter

Image filtering plays an important role to remove impulse (Salt and Pepper) noise from the images. The median filter which is a non - linear filter is very effective at removing noise while preserving image features and edges. In comparison to linear filter, they provide excellent noise reduction capabilities, with less blurring. The work ing of median filter is by removing the corrupted pixel value with the median value of neighboring pixel which is calculated by sorting all the pixel values from the window into ascending order. This paper presents a median filtering algorithm by using 3* 3 windows

A Class of Differentiator-Based Multifunction Biquad Filters Using OTRAs

    Get PDF
This paper presents Signal Flow Graph (SFG) approach-based realization of Single Input Multiple Output (SIMO) filter topologies. A differentiator is placed as basic building block. A total of sixteen variants are derived from the proposed differentiator-based SFG. The Operational Trans-Resistance Amplifier (OTRA), an active block having low parasitics at input terminals, is used to validate the proposed methodology. All the derived filter structures use three OTRAs, six resistors and two capacitors. The filter performance parameters can be adjusted independently. The functional verification of the proposed method is done via SPICE simulations using 0.18 μm CMOS technology parameters from MOSIS

Cyclodextrin Complexes of Reduced Bromonoscapine in Guar Gum Microspheres Enhance Colonic Drug Delivery

Here, we report improved solubility and enhanced colonic delivery of reduced bromonoscapine (Red-Br-Nos), a cyclic ether brominated analogue of noscapine, upon encapsulation of its cyclodextrin (CD) complexes in bioresponsive guar gum microspheres (GGM). Phase−solubility analysis suggested that Red-Br-Nos complexed with β-CD and methyl-β-CD in a 1:1 stoichiometry, with a stability constant (Kc) of 2.29 × 103 M−1 and 4.27 × 103 M−1. Fourier transforms infrared spectroscopy indicated entrance of an O−CH2 or OCH3−C6H4−OCH3 moiety of Red-Br-Nos in the β-CD or methyl-β- CD cavity. Furthermore, the cage complex of Red-Br-Nos with β-CD and methyl-β-CD was validated by several spectral techniques. Rotating frame Overhauser enhancement spectroscopy revealed that the Ha proton of the OCH3−C6H4−OCH3 moiety was closer to the H5 proton of β-CD and the H3 proton of the methyl-β-CD cavity. The solubility of Red-Br-Nos in phosphate buffer saline (PBS, pH ∼ 7.4) was improved by ∼10.7-fold and ∼21.2-fold when mixed with β-CD and methyl-β-CD, respectively. This increase in solubility led to a favorable decline in the IC50 by ∼2-fold and ∼3-fold for Red-Br-Nos−β-CD-GGM and Red-Br-Nos−methyl-β-CD-GGM formulations respectively, compared to free Red-Br-Nos−β-CD and Red-Br-Nos−methyl-β-CD in human colon HT-29 cells. GGM-bearing drug complex formulations were found to be highly cytotoxic to the HT-29 cell line and further effective with simultaneous continuous release of Red-Br-Nos from microspheres. This is the first study to showing the preparation of drug-complex loaded GGMS for colon delivery of Red-Br-Nos that warrants preclinical assessment for the effective management of colon cancer

Cloud Architecture for the Logistics Business

    Get PDF
AbstractIn this paper, we design a cloud computing supported logistics tracking information management system to support whole-ranged and real-time logistics tracking services. The logistics cloud provides customers with a way to tap into - anywhere, anytime - the power needed to more efficiently run their businesses. The logistics cloud helps in making efficient and easy processes of global supply chains. The information about shipments with suppliers, transportation providers, and end users is quicker using the cloud. One of the greatest advantages of the logistics cloud is that there is a complete balance of sharing the resources among all the business companies

Processing of a digital image by the use of computer algorithm is usually referred as digital image processing. However, some unwanted signals capture the image which is termed as noise. Thus the digital image filtering technique is frequently used to eliminate noise. Generally image filters are following up software approach in systems. But hardware implementation prefers in comparison with software implementation for better processing speed. With a boost in the VLSI technology hardware implementation has given a better choice. In the present paper, a hardware implementation method of a Switching non linear Image Filter is proposed with 3X3 window size. Virtex-7 VC707 was used for design, simulation and synthesis process. The performance analysis of the switching median filter was evaluated for different image set (Lena, Cameraman, and Barbara). The max operating frequency attained was 397 MHz. The minimum delay achieved was approximately 2.41ns. The Verilog language was utilized to aim two-dimension switching image filter using ISE (Xilinx) tool. The proposed algorithm for the Switching Image Filter is working on sorting and finding the median values. The comparison has been done with peak signal to noise ration, processing time and the visual inspection observed on each filter
