Identifying Effective Behavior Management in the Early Childhood Classroom
Every educator has a dream to maintain a classroom free from disruptions; one in which each child is being molded, shaped, and corrected in a loving and caring environment that inspires appropriate behavior. The purpose of this research project was to determine how to create an effective behavior management plan and effectively teach classroom management techniques. Students involved in this project were preschoolers age three and four from a local Young Men Christian Association in Akron, OH

The use of quality seedlings is important in establishing
a productive coļ¬ee crop. However, the most widely used
method to produce coļ¬ee seedlings is time consuming (6-12
months) and lacks new production technologies. This study
aimed to assess the use of fertigation and a growth regulator in
the production of coļ¬ee seedlings, in order to develop a system
faster than the conventional method. For that, TopĆ”zio coļ¬ee
cultivar seeds were pre-germinated and planted in tubes flled
with substrate (composted pine bark), in a protected nursery.
A randomized block design was used, in a 4 x 2 (fertigation
levels x the use or not of growth regulator) factorial scheme,
with four replications. Daily fertigation positively inļ¬uenced
all the growth variables evaluated. The foliar spraying of the
growth regulator had little eļ¬ect on seedling growth. When
compared to the conventional system described in the literature,
the coļ¬ee seedling production system described here reduced,
by around 60 days, the production time and enables a largescale productionA utilizaĆ§Ć£o de mudas de boa qualidade Ć© importante
A fertirrigaĆ§Ć£o diĆ”ria influenciou positivamente
A pulverizaĆ§Ć£o
Radionuclide imaging correlatives of heart rate impairment during maximal exercise testing
A lower than normal heart rate response to maximal dynamic exercise, known as chronotropic incompetence or heart rate impairment, has been demonstrated to have a poor prognosis. In order to better describe patients with this finding, 156 men with coronary heart disease were evaluated. All patients were studied with maximal exercise testing, including measurements of oxygen consumption, exercise electrocardiograms, thallium scintigraphy and radionuclide ventriculography. Chronotropic incompetence was defined as a maximal heart rate 1 standard error of the estimate below the regression line of age versus maximal heart rate on two separate exercise tests. In patients so defined, mean maximal oxygen consumption was significantly lowered and angina was the major reason for stopping exercise on the treadmill. Patients with chronotropic incompetence not limited by angina had more evidence of myocardial scar and dysfunction and had a greater prevalence of three vessel coronary disease than did patients with a normal heart rate response. Radionuclide testing results suggest that among patients with chronotropic incompetence, those with angina have a better prognosis than those who do not have angina but who may have myocardial dysfunction
Innovative Approaches for Enhancing the 21st Century Student Experience
This paper discusses insights from a project aimed to bring about sustainable strategic change through improving institutional capacity to enhance the 21st century student experience. It sought to build new concepts for understanding Australiaās higher education students, identify new data sources and approaches for measuring the student experience, and engage institutions in enhancement work and new conversations about students. After discussing pertinent contexts and rationales, the paper discusses national research conducted to understand the current state of play. It then proposes the model derived to reconceptualise qualities of a successful experience. It closes by articulating two enhancement strategies developed to seed new practices
Peripheral neuropathy in osteosclerotic myeloma: Clinical and electrodiagnostic improvement with chemotherapy
A patient with a severe remote-effect polyneuropathy and other paraneoplastic features of osteosclerotic myeloma improved dramatically with melphalan and prednisone treatment. Serial electrodiagnostic studies provided an objective means of following the response to therapy and documented the improvement. We believe this represents the first reported patient with multifocal osteosclerotic myeloma and a myelomatous polyneuropathy responding to melphalan and prednisone.Peer Reviewedhttp://deepblue.lib.umich.edu/bitstream/2027.42/50132/1/880070209_ftp.pd
