La loi sur le renseignement.: Interview de Laurence Blisson, secrétaire générale du Syndicat de la Magistrature

    No full text
Although this long interview of the General Secretary of the Judicial Union, "Syndicat de la Magistrature" dates from October 2015, it seems necessary to publish it as far the vote of the law on the intelligence following the attacks of January 11, 2015 opens a dark period for what it remains of Democratic institutions to French society. Indeed, this law on intelligence institutes a total supervision of the society, granting exorbitant powers to control the private space (poses of microphones, IMSI catcher, capturing archived computer data ..) and the data search in the public space while undermining the fundamental rights of the individual. This law is the legal foundation of a policy of an "ubiquitous security" which must be feared that it serves first the enemies of a democratic society open to otherness. Since other regulations have been added to the security arsenal confirming the retreat of the right before the illusions of a society looking for a providential man (or woman), as often that might happen in the difficult periods of its history,Bien que cette longue interview de la secrétaire générale du Syndicat de la Magistrature dated'octobre 2015, il nous semble nécessaire de la publier tant le vote de la loi sur le renseignementsuite aux attentats du 11 janvier 2015 ouvre une période sombre pour ce qui reste d'institutionsdémocratiques à la société française.

Proportional systems in the history of architecture : a critical reconsideration

    No full text
In this collection of original essays, twenty-five leading scholars reconsider the long history of proportional systems across numerous periods and places, and from diverse methodological approaches including archival exploration, advanced laser scanning, and more. Prior to the advent of modern structural engineering, architects and builders used proportional systems to imbue their works with a general condition of order that was integral to their intertwined notions of beauty and structural stability. These mostly invisible intellectual frameworks ranged from simple grids and symbolic numbers, to sly manipulations of geometry and numbers that required privileged knowledge and arithmetical calculations to access. Since the origins of architectural history, proportional systems have served as objects of belief and modes of iconographical communication. Whether they are capable of fulfilling more tangible functions remains a matter of debate today, for this ancient and diverse belief system continues to infiltrate architectural thinking in subtle and sometimes surprising ways

MIGALE: A Multiparametric Virtual Instrument to Study Galaxy Evolution

    No full text
International audienceMIGALE proposes to build the Virtual Instruments needed to study the evolution from z=1 to the Local Universe. In particular it will address aspects related to the evolution of the SFR, of the morphology and of the history of the stellar populations. MIGALE will succeed to HyperLeda and continue to distribute homogeneous data for million of galaxies, reference data as for example spectra of stars and galaxies and ont-the-fly processing tools. In addition it will provide specific tools for analysing the data from the Giraffe spectrograph (VLT). We will present here a demonstration of the tools yet available on-line and discuss of the future developments
