Get PDF
Our Tamil language is rich in virtues that are not found in other languages all around the world. It is special to acquire grammatical and literary resources to such an extent that it is even impossible to say with certainty the period of the Tamil language. Tamil language excels as an unrivaled language in all aspects like culture and art. Man is a part of society. so the language he speaks, food he eats, dress he wears, his lifestyle, work and thoughts reveal the culture of the society where he lives in. Every human society has a culture. The habits practiced by man in his life are usually formed by the change of time and this practice has become a culture over time. Thus culture created huan society and good human beings. "Culture cannot be seen" is the opinion of William Haviland. Culture has been defined by the Chancellor of Madras University as "the natural goodness of others". Culture is subjective. It has life-like energy. It has higher purpose. Culture flourished from the root word 'culture'. Culture means refinement. 'He who is called noble, is virtuous. To know the antiquity of the Tamil culture, the grammar book Tolkappiyam and the Sangha literature are very helpful. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to study the superiority of culture in Aatrupadai literature, which is half the size of Sangam literature

Background: Oligohydramnios can lead to contamination of amniotic fluid, fetal distress, neonatal asphyxia, aspiration pneumonia, increased perinatal mortality and adverse pregnancy outcomes. Because of atypical clinical symptoms, the critical point is to treat patients with oligohydramnios in late pregnancy. The objectives of the research were to study the mode of delivery/rate of operative interference/incidence of cesarean section due to fetal distress/non-reassuring fetal heart rate status in cases of term pregnancy with borderline amniotic fluid index (AFI), and to study the perinatal outcome in cases of term pregnancy with borderline AFI.Methods: The study is a prospective comparative study to be conducted in patients attending antenatal clinic at department of obstetrics and gynaecology, Tirunelveli government medical college hospital from from January 2018 till January 2019 (12 months). Data collected with regards to age, demographic characteristics, and socioeconomic status, detailed history including patient’s complaints, duration of complaints, menstrual and obstetric history, significant past, family and personal history. 265 cases of borderline oligohydramnios were detected of which 150 cases were selected for the study after applying exclusion criteria. Results: APGAR scores between the two groups. The mean APGAR scores of the normal group were 8.3±0.7 and the same of the borderline AFI group was 8.0±0.9. The difference between the means was statistically highly significant (p<0.01).Conclusions: Cumulative analysis of various studies, it will be reasonable to conclude that antepartum surveillance for borderline oligohydramnios is indicated in cases associated with fetal growth restriction or suboptimal fetal growth

The human mind is like a weak vine and so it cannot act and grow without any help. Some kind of attachment is inherent to the human mind. Thus the human mind need some support and it surrenders itself to God and with the help of God it clings. The purpose of worship is to transform human beings into the abode of the Lord. It is natural for a person to realize that there is an omnipotent entity that creates and directs all these wide world, the people, other living animals in the world and the movements of the sun and moon. Worship helps to enrich the soul just as nutritious food strengthens the body. The true meaning of worship is to travel on the proper path laid down by our ancestors. Nature worship have been developed into god worship. From that day till today, the ritual of worship continues among the people. The main event. This research is based on the way of investigating that worship is an ethic that seeks to feel and approach the superiority of these concepts

Sustainable Development (SD) is currently becoming more well-known. As a result, many kinds of organizations are working together to guarantee that sustainable development is noticed in pursuing their objectives, such as profit-making, providing social services, philanthropy, etc. Sustainable development (SD) is preserving the integrity of social and natural systems while pursuing economic growth. Non-Financial Reporting is a framework for organizations to report on their operations in this area, particularly about the triple bottom line or the accounting of the environment, society, and economy. Given their critical role in funding global economic and developmental activities, financial institutions, particularly banks, must contribute significantly to sustainable development. In this context, it is challenging to overstate how important it is for banks to behave responsibly as corporate citizens in society, particularly in a growing nation like ours. Their actions should demonstrate how they care about the environment and human rights. This paper emphasizes the significance of "Going green" and promoting sustainable practices in the Indian banking sector. The perception of customers toward Sustainable practices in Indian banks has not been the subject of much research. The study aims to comprehend how consumers feel about green banking services and their effectiveness and benefits. Friedman Ranking test and Chi-Square have been used as tools for the analysis

Colonic perforation is a rare cause of intraabdominal abscess. It presents, more frequently in frail elderly patients, with heterogeneous signs and symptoms which hamper the clinical diagnosis. Subcutaneous emphysema with pneumomediastinum and muscle abscess are unusual signs. Colonic perforation may be consequent to diverticulitis or locally advanced colon cancer. Due to the anatomy of the abdominal space and different physiopathology, diverticular perforation may present with air and pus collection; on the other hand perforated colon cancer may cause groin mass and psoas abscess

Evaluation of physiochemical characteristics of fresh and osmotic dehydrated fig (Ficus carica L.)

Get PDF
Fig (Fiscus carica L.) fruits being the rich source of phytochemicals, particularly anti-oxidants serve as a powerhouse of nutrients and has many medicinal properties. Fig promoting healthy bowel function due to the high level of fiber. Rich in vitamins A,C,E, and minerals like calcium useful to improve the health status and to balance the pH of the body. Due to its short-lived nature, it cannot be stored for longer period (2-3 days) because higher postharvest losses. The lag in processing of fig is mainly attributed to the highly perishable nature of the fig as it posses high moisture content. The objective of the work was to improve the shelf life and reduce the perishability of fig. Two varieties, namely Local and Timla (Yercud - 1) variety were selected and osmotically dehydrated with different concentration (30, 40 and 50 °brix) of sugar solution. Timla variety contained lower percentage of seeds (21%) and fibre (2.05 g/100g), higher pulp thickness (1.0 cm), maximum colour values (L - 70.30, a - 4.65 and b - 12.37), TSS (19°brix) and vitamin C (39.0 mg/100g) than the local variety. Timla variety treated with 50° brix osmotic solution was found better nutrient retention, drying characteristics and organoleptic properties. The resultant products had improved shelf life and increased concentration of nutrients, making it suitable for processing and value addition

Get PDF
The present study deals with the isolation and characterization of phosphorus-solubilizing bacteria (PSB) from Avicennia marina rhizospheric sediment, pneumatophoric sediment and non-rhizospheric sediment. The sampling was carried out in four mangrove forests of Mumbai, India. The physicochemical parameters like pH, electrical conductivity, organic carbon, texture, total Phosphorus (P), inorganic P, organic P, Olsen P, iron, calcium, magnesium and zinc in sediment were analysed along with the isolation and molecular characterization of PSB. Significantly, lower pH was observed in the rhizospheric sediment than in the pneumatophoric and bulk sediment. Abundance of PSB was also found in the rhizospheric zone. This was supported by other physicochemical parameters such as high organic P, Olsen P, and higher bacterial count along with low inorganic P. In this study, 8 PSB were isolated and 16S rDNA sequence revealed that all the isolates belong to the genus Bacillus. Among the PSB isolates, B. subtilis sub. spizizenii TU-B-10 showed significantly higher solubilization activity (85.8±0.0 µg P released per 108 cfu in 72 hrs). The isolates that showed higher phosphate-solubilizing potentials can be explored as phosphatic bio-fertilizer to enhance the agricultural, aquacultural and mangrove productivity

AIM OF THE STUDY: To evaluate the risk factors of IUGR and to determine the impact of risk factors on perinatal outcome in women having IUGR fetus. METHODS: Investigations were done for the women who have IUGR fetus suspected clinically and confirmed by ultrasonogram. About 142 cases were attended KGH with the diagnosis of IUGR. All 142 patients were evaluated for risk factors under study. Only 100 cases came for regular antenatal visits and antenatal surveillance of the fetus. 22 cases were excluded according the exclusion criteria. Among the 120 cases, 20 patients were excluded because 12 cases didn’t come for regular antenatal visits after some initial visits, came only at the time of delivery, and remaining 8 patients didn’t come for delivery for the purpose of evaluation of perinatal outcome. Among patients who didn’t come for regular antenatal visits (12 cases) after initial visits, and came only for delivery, 5 patients had risk factors. Among this five patients one woman had IUD compared to 1 IUD in 65 patients had risk factors and also regular antenatal visits. Remaining all 4 cases had adverse neonatal outcome. Among patients who didn’t come for regular antenatal visits and had no risk factors (7 cases) only 1 patient had good neonatal outcome. RESULTS: The incidence of LSCS in women having risk factors is 71% compared to 28% not having risk factors. The incidence of Doppler CPR reversal is 18% among the risk group compared to 14% among non risk group. Risk factors are high among the low socioeconomic group. Adverse neonatal outcome has strong association with maternal risk factors. CONCLUSION: IUGR fetus born to mothers having maternal risk factors has high likelihood of developing adverse neonatal outcome. So evaluation to identify the risk factors at the early gestational age at clinical suspicion of IUGR can help to reduce neonatal complications and perinatal mortality and morbidity
