Enhanced two-photon emission from a dressed biexciton

Radiative two-photon cascades from biexcitons in semiconductor quantum dots under resonant two-photon excitation are promising candidates for the generation of photon pairs. In this work, we propose a scheme to obtain two-photon emission that allows to operate under very intense driving fields. This approach relies on the Purcell enhancement of two-photon virtual transitions between states of the biexciton dressed by the laser. The richness provided by the biexcitonic level structure allows to reach a variety of regimes, from antibunched and bunched photon pairs with polarization orthogonal to the driving field, to polarization entangled two-photon emission. This evidences that the general paradigm of two-photon emission from a ladder of dressed states can find interesting, particular implementations in a variety of systems

La estructura argumentativa de un tipo particular de discurso jurídico. El caso de cuatro demandas de reivindicación territorial mapuche (IX Región-Chile) y la construcción de la identidad reivindicativa

La investigación realizada busca aportar antecedentes respecto de la manera cómo se construyen los hechos históricos y jurídicos, expresados en las demandas judiciales de reivindicación territorial mapuche, que patrocina y presenta el abogado mapuche José Lincoqueo. Esto permitirá conocer la compleja relación entre el Estado – Sistema Judicial y el pueblo mapuche en Chile. El corpus de estudio de esta investigación está integrado por cuatro demandas de reivindicación territorial mapuche presentadas en los tribunales de justicia desde 1998 hasta 2000.This research contributes to the construction of the historical and judicial facts, expressed in the judicial demands of mapuche territorial reivindication by the mapuche lawyer, José Lincoqueo. This research permits us to understand the complex relation between the State – Judicial System and the mapuche people in Chile. Critical genealogy of intercultural studies and “intercultural communication” in America

El trabajo parte primera de una revisión genealógica y crítica de los estudios interculturales y la “comunicación intercultural”, entendidos como ideología y formas de control; posteriormente revisa el desarrollo y fortalecimiento de estos estudios, a partir del aporte de ciertas teorías y disciplinas (lingüística, discurso, entre otras); en un tercer momento se centra en el caso de la inclusión/exclusión de las comunidades étnicas en algunas dicotomías, como urbano/rural y moderno/premoderno; y por último analiza las comunidades étnicas, para revisar brevemente su incorporación en la lógica mediacentrista del discurso social de los medios.The paper starts with a genealogical and critical revision of intercultural studies and intercultural communication as ideology and control; then it analyses the development and strengthen of these studies, from the contribution of some theories and disciplines (linguistic, discourse, among others); thirdly, it focuses in the case of inclusion/exclusion of ethnic communities: urban/rural, modern/premodern; finally, it analyses ethnic communities, to review their incorporation to media-focused logic of social discourse of the media.Fondo Nacional de Desarrollo Científico y Tecnológico 11060422Universidad de La Frontera 12060

Reliability of III-V concentrator solar cells

III–V concentrator solar cells are starting to be commercialized. However, no complete studies about their reliability have been carried out. A review about both the accelerated ageing tests and real time tests developed till now is presented. A proposal about the required tests is also done. In this stage, the tests show that III–V concentrator cells are robust devices with MTTFs well over the expected ones (30 years)
