We have constructed a cDNA library from an isolate of B. cinerea and have sequenced 11,482 expressed sequence tags that were assembled into 1,003 contigs sequences and 3,032 singletons. Approximately 81% of the unigenes showed significant similarity to genes coding for proteins with known functions: more than 50% of the sequences code for genes involved in cellular metabolism, 12% for transport of metabolites, and approximately 10% for cellular organization. Other functional categories include responses to biotic and abiotic stimuli, cell communication, cell homeostasis, and cell development. We carried out pair-wise comparisons with fungal databases to determine the B. cinerea unisequence set with relevant similarity to genes in other fungal pathogenic counterparts. Among the 4,035 non-redundant B. cinerea unigenes, 1,338 (23%) have significant homology with Fusarium verticillioides unigenes. Similar values were obtained for Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Aspergillus nidulans (22% and 24%, respectively). The lower percentages of homology were with Magnaporthe grisae and Neurospora crassa (13% and 19%, respectively). Several genes involved in putative and known fungal virulence and general pathogenicity were identified. The results provide important information for future research on this fungal pathogen

As digital social networks become an integral part of career placement, advancement, and professional networks, young professionals are required to find ways to compete for the attention of potential and current employers. One of the theories that have been used across diverse areas from marketing scholars (Zamudio et al., 2013, Close et al., 2011; Noble et al., 2010) to fashion models (Parmentier et al., 2013) to understand self-promotion for professionals is personal branding. Recent articles like Swaminathan et al. (2020) have expressed the need to understand better how consumers are branding themselves in the hyperconnected world and what psychological consequences emerge. Parmentier and Fischer (2021) recognize that there is a gap in the literature about how individuals do and protect their personal brand. Rangarajan et al. (2017) suggest that managers need to backing employees on their personal branding efforts that will benefit the company and the employee. As no research has been conducted to analyze how young professionals use personal branding to develop their careers dynamic environments such as social media, this study aims to explore the perceptions and experiences of recent business program graduates regarding the use of personal branding strategies based on impression management to advance their careers. This research explores how recent business professionals develop their brand by using impression management behaviors in the professional social network called LinkedIn, one of the largest social media platforms for professionals in the USA. Using an interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA), this study used focus groups to explore young business professionals\u27 perceptions and experiences using personal branding strategies based on impression management actions. The findings reveal the relevance of branding as young professionals engage in branding strategies to advance their careers. Different themes emerged to describe the participants\u27 perceptions and experiences using personal branding strategies based on impression management behaviors: Enhancement, Ingratiation, Self-Promotion, Exemplification, Personal Branding, Personal Branding Strategies, and Personal Branding on LinkedIn. The recent business professionals develop their brand initially, sometimes unintentionally, and by inertia, and as they mature in their professional studies and or professional roles, they become self-aware of the importance of personal branding and become strategic about their branding efforts. This study contributes to the personal branding literature by extending our understanding of branding strategies based on impression management in a social media platform. The paper also contributes to our knowledge of job markets by pointing out how important personal branding is for recent business graduates to advance their careers. Lastly, this research also extends our understanding of LinkedIn as an online personal branding representation of individuals commencing their professional careers. These insights are of increasing importance, as employers are required to find new ways to attract, hire, and retain human resources in the digital realm

Multiple Revision on Horn Belief Bases

In logic programming, Horn clauses play a basic role, and in many logical constructs their consideration is important. In this paper we study the multiple revision of a belief base where the underlying logic is composed by Horn clauses. The main di culties as to restricting to the Horn fragment for revision operators by a single sentence are analyzed, and general results are presented about multiple revision operators on belief bases. We de ne prioritized multiple revision operators under a more restricted logic than classical propositional logic, i.e. Horn logic. We propose a set of postulates and representation theorems for each operation. This work is relevant for multiple revision in areas that employ Horn clauses, such as logic programming and deductive databases applications.XVII Workshop Agentes y Sistemas Inteligentes (WASI).Red de Universidades con Carreras en Informática (RedUNCI

Personal Brand Equity in LinkedIn: Impression Management as an Antecedent and Behaviors as Consequences

    Get PDF
This research explores how Personal Brand Equity in professional social media is influenced by impression management and the online behaviors of users of this social media platform. Using a path analysis, the relationship between Impression Management and Personal Brand Equity was, as expected, strong and positive. The paths between brand equity and frequency of behaviors such as use of LinkedIn to network were significant and strong while other behaviors such as frequency of use of LinkedIn to ask for recommendations were not significant. The contribution of this paper is to be the first to analyze this relationship to understand better personal branding utilizing impression management theories

The objective of this research was to analyze the thinking of the students of Early Childhood Education at Universidad Privada Antenor Orrego de Trujillo, enrolled in the academic semester 2018-10, about Spanish language regulations regarding orthography. The research was developed within qualitative approach and phenomenological methodology based on observation and analysis of concrete behaviours. The research technique used was in-depth individual interview and the instrument for collecting information was a questionnaire, which was applied to 31 students of first cycle in this Professional School. As a result, the notorious confusion and contradiction they have regarding the usefulness of spelling and its little relevance at the time of communicating are highlighted. The importance of writing correctly is recognized , knowing that a well written message favours communication; but, at the same time, it is not necessary for the development of social and academic activities. The reached conclusion was that Spanish spelling is an aspect that does not mark significantly differences among the students as future teachers and that generates an atmosphere of confusion marked by the incongruence between thinking about writing correctly and doing this activity outside of the regulations of Spanish language.Tesi
