On operad structures of moduli spaces and string theory
Recent algebraic structures of string theory, including homotopy Lie
algebras, gravity algebras and Batalin-Vilkovisky algebras, are deduced from
the topology of the moduli spaces of punctured Riemann spheres. The principal
reason for these structures to appear is as simple as the following. A
conformal field theory is an algebra over the operad of punctured Riemann
surfaces, this operad gives rise to certain standard operads governing the
three kinds of algebras, and that yields the structures of such algebras on the
(physical) state space naturally.Comment: 33 pages (An elaboration of minimal area metrics and new references

Measurement of the R response function for electroproduction at = 0.070 (GeV/c) in the transition}
Quadrupole amplitudes in the transition are associated
with the issue of nucleon deformation. A search for these small amplitudes has
been the focus of a series of measurements undertaken at Bates/MIT by the OOPS
collaboration. We report on results from H data obtained
at (GeV/c) and invariant mass of W=1155 MeV using the
out-of-plane detection technique with the OOPS spectrometers. The
and response functions were isolated.
These results, along with those of previous measurements at =1172 MeV and
(GeV/c), aim in elucidating the interplay between resonant and
non resonant amplitudes
Elliptic hypergeometry of supersymmetric dualities II. Orthogonal groups, knots, and vortices
We consider Seiberg electric-magnetic dualities for 4d SYM
theories with SO(N) gauge group. For all such known theories we construct
superconformal indices (SCIs) in terms of elliptic hypergeometric integrals.
Equalities of these indices for dual theories lead both to proven earlier
special function identities and new conjectural relations for integrals. In
particular, we describe a number of new elliptic beta integrals associated with
the s-confining theories with the spinor matter fields. Reductions of some
dualities from SP(2N) to SO(2N) or SO(2N+1) gauge groups are described.
Interrelation of SCIs and the Witten anomaly is briefly discussed. Possible
applications of the elliptic hypergeometric integrals to a two-parameter
deformation of 2d conformal field theory and related matrix models are
indicated. Connections of the reduced SCIs with the state integrals of the knot
theory, generalized AGT duality for (3+3)d theories, and a 2d vortex partition
function are described.Comment: Latex, 58 pages; paper shortened, to appear in Commun. Math. Phy
New data on platinum mineralization in gold ore of the Sukhoi Log deposit (Lena gold-bearing district, Russia)
Existence of various forms of platinum metals in Sukhoi Log gold deposit which is the largest gold deposit in Russia has been shown. The native metal form, the phases of Pt-Cu-Fe system are noted. This makes it possible to consider Sukhoi Log as platinum-gold deposit. Possible presence of platinum metals characterized by chemical bond with carbon has been studied. High-carbon concentrates have been produced. The concentrates have been investigated. Results of the investigations have been presented. Contents of carbon in the concentrates have been 91.78 and 53.31 percent. Contents of platinum have been 500 and 1,000 g per ton. It has been shown that accumulation of platinum is connected only with its high acid resistance

The objective of this study was to develop the first evidence-based detection algorithm for PAH in SSc. METHODS: In this cross-sectional, international study conducted in 62 experienced centres from North America, Europe and Asia, adults with SSc at increased risk of PAH (SSc for >3 years and predicted pulmonary diffusing capacity for carbon monoxide <60%) underwent a broad panel of non-invasive assessments followed by diagnostic right heart catheterisation (RHC). Univariable and multivariable analyses selected the best discriminatory variables for identifying PAH. After assessment for clinical plausibility and feasibility, these were incorporated into a two-step, internally validated detection algorithm. Nomograms for clinical practice use were developed. RESULTS: Of 466 SSc patients at increased risk of PAH, 87 (19%) had RHC-confirmed PAH. PAH was mild (64% in WHO functional class I/II). Six simple assessments in Step 1 of the algorithm determined referral to echocardiography. In Step 2, the Step 1 prediction score and two echocardiographic variables determined referral to RHC. The DETECT algorithm recommended RHC in 62% of patients (referral rate) and missed 4% of PAH patients (false negatives). By comparison, applying European Society of Cardiology/European Respiratory Society guidelines to these patients, 29% of diagnoses were missed while requiring an RHC referral rate of 40%. CONCLUSIONS: The novel, evidence-based DETECT algorithm for PAH detection in SSc is a sensitive, non-invasive tool which minimises missed diagnoses, identifies milder disease and addresses resource usage
