    7 GHz pulsed magnicon amplifier

    No full text
The work on creation of high-power microwave amplifiers with circular deflection of an electron beam has been carried out at INP since 1967. In the latest set of experiments on 7 GHz magnicon almost all design parameters have been achieved: the output power of 55 MW, efficiency of 56 %, and gain of 72 dB. Experimental data are in an excellent agreement with simulation results obtained by the special magnicon computer codes. Achieved results allow us to consider a magnicon as an alternative power source for linear colliders applications

The Upper Limit of Magnetic Field Strength in Dense Stellar Hadronic Matter

It is shown that in strongly magnetized neutron stars, there exist upper limits of magnetic field strength, beyond which the self energies for both neutron and proton components of neutron star matter become complex in nature. As a consequence they decay within the strong interaction time scale. However, in the ultra-strong magnetic field case, when the zeroth Landau level is only occupied by protons, the system again becomes stable against strong decay.Comment: 6 pages Revtex, 2 .eps figures, fig.(1) is not include

The motion of atoms and molecules in a resonance light field

    No full text
The influence of the resonance light pressure on the motion of atoms and molecules is studied. A kinetic equation has been obtained describing the action on particles of both the mean force of light pressure and its fluctuations. The forces that are considered are due to spontaneous and stimulated transitions and also to a certain combination thereof. The kinetic equation is used to describe the scattering of atoms in conditions close to the experimental ones [16]. The temperature of atoms cooled in a standing wave with the aid of the force of light pressure of the combined type has also been found.L'influence de la pression de radiation de la lumière sur le mouvement d'atomes et des molécules est étudiée.

Effect of silver solubility on the structural, electrical, and magnetic properties of multiferroic LiCu<inf>2</inf>O<inf>2</inf>

    No full text
Platelike single crystals up to 4 × 8 × 8 mm in dimensions have been grown by slowly cooling Li2O · 4(1 - x)CuO · 4xAgNO3 (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.5) melts. X-ray diffraction and X-ray spectroscopy characterization has shown that the crystals are isostructural with LiCu2O2 and contain up to 4 at % Ag (relative to the Cu atoms). The addition of silver to lithium cuprate crystals increases their electrical conductivity by about three orders of magnitude, has little effect on the temperature behavior of their magnetic moment M(T) at T < 50 K, and suppresses anomalies in M(T) in the 150 K region. © 2015 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd

X-ray diffraction analysis of LiCu<inf>2</inf>O<inf>2</inf> crystals with additives of silver atoms

Silver-containing LiCu2O2 crystals up to 4 × 8 × 8 mm in size were grown by the crystallization of 80(1-x)CuO · 20xAgNO3 · 20Li2CO3 (0 ≤ х ≤ 0.5) mixture melt. According to the X-ray spectral and Rietveld X-ray diffraction data, the maximum amount of silver incorporated in the LiCu2O2 structure is about 4 at % relative to the copper content. It was established that silver atoms occupy statistically crystallographic positions of lithium atoms. The incorporation of silver atoms is accompanied by a noticeable increase in parameter с of the LiCu2O2 rhombic unit cell, a slight increase in parameter а, and a slight decrease in parameter b. © 2015, Pleiades Publishing, Inc
