The recent upgrades in the "standard" electromagnetic physics package
The current status and the recent developments of Geant4 "Standard" electromagnetic package are presented. The design iteration of the package carried out for the last two years is completed. It provides model versus process structure of the code. The internal database of elements and materials based on the NIST databases is introduced inside the Geant4 toolkit as well. The focus of recent activities is on upgrade of physics models and on validation of simulation results. The significant revisions were done for ionistion models, for models for transition radiation, and multiple scattering models, which are presented in this work. The acceptance suite evolution is also discussed
Energy calibration of the NaI(Tl) calorimeter of the SND detector using events
Calibration of the three layer NaI(Tl) spherical calorimeter of the SND
detector using electron -- positron scattering events is described. Energy
resolution of for 500 MeV photons was achieved.Comment: 12 pages, Latex, 8 figures (.EPS
Energy calibration of the NaI(Tl) calorimeter of the SND detector using cosmic muons
The general purpose spherical nonmagnetic detector (SND) is now taking data
at VEPP-2M collider in BINP (Novosibirsk) in the centre of mass energy
range of GeV. The energy calibration of the NaI(Tl) calorimeter
of the SND detector with cosmic muons is described. Using this method, the
energy resolution of for 500 MeV photons was achieved.Comment: 15 pages, Latex, 11 figures (.EPS
Symmetry broken motion of a periodically driven Brownian particle: nonadiabatic regime
We report a theoretical study of an overdamped Brownian particle dynamics in
the presence of both a spatially modulated one-dimensional periodic potential
and a periodic alternating force (AF). As the periodic potential has a low
symmetry (a ratchet potential) the Brownian particle displays a broken symmetry
motion with a nonzero time average velocity. By making use of the Green
function method and a mapping to the theory of Brillouin bands the probability
distribution of the particle coordinate is derived and the nonlinear dependence
of the macroscopic velocity on the frequency and the amplitude of AF is found.
In particular, our theory allows to go beyond the adiabatic limit and to
explain the peculiar reversal of the velocity sign found previously in the
numerical analysis.Comment: 4 pages, 2 figure
Spin alignment of mesons produced in neutron-carbon interactions
A new precise measurements of spin density matrix element of
mesons produced inclusively in neutron-carbon interactions at
\~60 GeV have been carried out in the EXCHARM experiment at the Serpukhov
accelerator. The values of obtained in the transversity frame are
for and

Search for direct production of a2(1320) and f2(1270) mesons in e+e- annihilation
A search for direct production of C-even resonances a2(1320) and f2(1270) in
e+e- annihilation was performed with SND detector at VEPP-2M e+e- collider. The
upper limits of electronic widths of these mesons were obtained at 90%
confidence level:
Gamma(a2(1320) \to e+e-) < 0.56 eV,
Gamma(f2(1270) \to e+e-) < 0.11 eV.Comment: 6 pages, 5 figures, 1 table. Submitted to Phys. Lett.
The process in the energy range 2E_0=1.04 - 1.38 GeV
In the experiment with the SND detector at VEPP-2M e^+e^- collider the
process was studied in the energy range 2E_0 from
1.04 to 1.38 GeV. A broad peak was observed with the visible mass
MeV and cross section in the maximum
nb. The peak can be interpreted as a -like resonance .Comment: 10 pages LATEX and 5 figure
Experimental Study of rho -> pi0 pi0 gamma and omega -> pi0 pi0 gamma Decays
The e+e- -> pi0 pi0 gamma process was studied in the SND experiment at
VEPP-2M e+e- collider in the energy region 0.60-0.97 GeV. From the analysis of
the energy dependence of measured cross section the branching ratios B(omega ->
pi0 pi0 gamma)= (6.6 +1.4-0.8(stat) +-0.6(syst))x10^-5 and B(rho -> pi0 pi0
gamma)=(4.1 +1.0-0.9(stat) +-0.3(syst))x10^-5 were obtained.Comment: 16 pages, 7 figures, submitted to Phys. Lett.
