Maximal L p -regularity for the Laplacian on Lipschitz domains

    Get PDF
We consider the Laplacian with Dirichlet or Neumann boundary conditions on bounded Lipschitz domains ?, both with the following two domains of definition:D1(?) = {u ? W1,p(?) : ?u ? Lp(?), Bu = 0}, orD2(?) = {u ? W2,p(?) : Bu = 0}, where B is the boundary operator. We prove that, under certain restrictions on the range of p, these operators generate positive analytic contraction semigroups on Lp(?) which implies maximal regularity for the corresponding Cauchy problems. In particular, if ? is bounded and convex and 1 < p ? 2, the Laplacian with domain D2(?) has the maximal regularity property, as in the case of smooth domains. In the last part,we construct an example that proves that, in general, the Dirichlet–Laplacian with domain D1(?) is not even a closed operator

    Quasi-free photoproduction of η-mesons off 3He nuclei

Quasi-free photoproduction of η-mesons has been measured off nucleons bound in 3He nuclei for incident photon energies from the threshold region up to 1.4 GeV. The experiment was performed at the tagged photon facility of the Mainz MAMI accelerator with an almost 4π covering electromagnetic calorimeter, combining the TAPS and Crystal Ball detectors. The η-mesons were detected in coincidence with the recoil nucleons. This allowed a comparison of the production cross section off quasi-free protons and quasi-free neutrons and a full kinematic reconstruction of the final state, eliminating effects from nuclear Fermi motion. In the S11(1535) resonance peak, the data agree with the neutron/proton cross section ratio extracted from measurements with deuteron targets. More importantly, the prominent structure observed in photoproduction off quasi-free neutrons bound in the deuteron is also clearly observed. Its parameters (width, strength) are consistent with the expectations from the deuteron results. On an absolute scale the cross sections for both quasi-free protons and neutrons are suppressed with respect to the deuteron target pointing to significant nuclear final-state interaction effects

Gender peculiarities of cardiac performance in children with bronchial asthma

By the data of clinical-instrumental examination there was performed comparative assessment of gender differences in cardiac performance of 54 patients aged 5-15 years with persisting form of partially controlled atopic bronchial asthma in inter-attack period of disease. Children were divided in two groups depending on gender - 28 boys and 26 girls. Group of comparison included 52 healthy children - 26 girls and 26 boys. In the girls in the inter-attack period of asthma reliably more often than in the boys there were revealed ventilation disturbance in the lungs by obstructive type; this promoted rise of pressure in the pulmonary artery. Herewith only in girls in 15,4% of cases there was revealed arterial pulmonary hypertension of a mild form. By the data of echocardiography in girls with bronchial asthma as compared with boys more expressed dilatation both of the right and left ventricles of the heart was observed. Average means of left ventricle contractility both in girls and boys in the inter-attack period of bronchial asthma were reliably decreased (р<0,01) as compared with healthy children, but in girl-patients as compared with boys these deviations were more significant. In the majority of such cases (in girls – 73,9%, in boys – 53,8%) decrease of contractile myocardium function was caused by presence of metabolic disorders in the form of repolarization changes of ventricular complex ob electrocardiogram. Investigations performed showed presence of some gender differences in cardiac performance in bronchial asthma children which should be considered in the course of treatment

Hemodynamics of Right Heart in Healthy Children according to Doppler Echocardiography

    No full text
There was studied intracardiac hemodynamics in 96 healthy children aged from 3 to 15 years old. There were identified age-related standards for dopplerechocardiography parameters of right heart, which can be used for the diagnosis of pathological abnormalities of the cardiac functionality in children with cardiac and somatic pathology in the practice of pediatrics and pediatric cardiology. The use of standardized methodological approaches to the assessment of systolic and diastolic function of the right ventricle will allow compare the results of studies obtained in different clinics, and use these data in scientific research
