The experiment was carried out in female white Wistar rats to investigate the effect of L-norvaline, rosuvastatin and their combination on parameters of blood supply to the bone tissue on models of experimental osteoporosis and osteoporotic fracture

The development of hypertensive neuroretinopathy model on wistar rats

A model of hypertensive neuroretinopathy was developed on Wistar line rats with administration of non-selective NO-synthase blocker N-nitro-L-arginine methyl ester (L-NAME) in a dose 12.5 mg/kg within 28 days on the background of single increased intraocular pressure (IOP) to 110 mmHg. As a result of the interim evaluation of pathology simulation mode the most optimal was a model of hypertensive neuroretinopathy with 5-minute increased IOP at day 26 of the experiment on the background of L-NAME for further study of neuroretinoprotective properties of pharmacological agent

Pharmacological preconditioning by recombinant erythropoietin as the possibility of increasing the stability of tissue of the retina to reperfusion ischemia in experiment

Ischemic injury was formed in laboratory rats by applying mechanical pressure (110 mm Hg) to the anterior eye chamber for 30 minutes. The experiment revealed that the recombinant erythropoietin (50 IU/kg) prevents the development of degenerative changes in retinal layers caused by ischemic injur

Adenomatous lesions of the major duodenal papilla in conjunction with pancreatic heterotopia

    Get PDF
The study was carried out on the material of 327 pathoanatomical autopsies taking into account the sex, age, clinical data, pathoanatomical, and clinical diagnoses. The material is divided into two groups: The 1st group - without an ectopic pancreatic tissue in the major duodenum papilla (279 cases) and the 2nd group - with different variants of ectopic pancreatic tissue (48 cases). In each of them, the distribution was carried out according to sex, age, and cause of deat

The objective of this research was a comparative study of the reaction of the tissues of the anterior abdominal wall to the PTFE-endoprosthesis with a DLC-coating at long-term experimental stage

Helicity-dependent cross sections for the photoproduction of π0\pi^0 pairs from nucleons

    Get PDF
The double-polarization observable EE and helicity-dependent cross sections σ1/2\sigma_{1/2}, σ3/2\sigma_{3/2} have been measured for the photoproduction of π0\pi^0 pairs off quasi-free protons and neutrons at the Mainz MAMI accelerator with the Crystal Ball/TAPS setup. A circularly polarized photon beam was produced by bremsstrahlung from longitudinally polarized electrons and impinged on a longitudinally polarized deuterated butanol target. The reaction products were detected with an almost 4π4\pi covering calorimeter. The results reveal for the first time the helicity- and isospin-dependent structure of the γNNπ0π0\gamma N\rightarrow N\pi^0\pi^0 reaction. They are compared to predictions from reaction models in view of nucleon resonance contributions and also to a refit of one model that predicted results for the proton and for the neutron target. The comparison of the prediction and the refit demonstrate the large impact of the new data.Comment: Submitted to Phys. Rev. Let

Radioactivity control strategy for the JUNO detector

    Get PDF
602siopenJUNO is a massive liquid scintillator detector with a primary scientific goal of determining the neutrino mass ordering by studying the oscillated anti-neutrino flux coming from two nuclear power plants at 53 km distance. The expected signal anti-neutrino interaction rate is only 60 counts per day (cpd), therefore a careful control of the background sources due to radioactivity is critical. In particular, natural radioactivity present in all materials and in the environment represents a serious issue that could impair the sensitivity of the experiment if appropriate countermeasures were not foreseen. In this paper we discuss the background reduction strategies undertaken by the JUNO collaboration to reduce at minimum the impact of natural radioactivity. We describe our efforts for an optimized experimental design, a careful material screening and accurate detector production handling, and a constant control of the expected results through a meticulous Monte Carlo simulation program. We show that all these actions should allow us to keep the background count rate safely below the target value of 10 Hz (i.e. ∼1 cpd accidental background) in the default fiducial volume, above an energy threshold of 0.7 MeV. Precision measurement of reactor antineutrino oscillation at kilometer-scale baselines by Daya Bay

We present a new determination of the smallest neutrino mixing angle θ13{\theta}_{13} and the mass-squared difference Δm322{\Delta}{\rm m}^{2}_{32} using a final sample of 5.55×1065.55 \times 10^{6} inverse beta-decay (IBD) candidates with the final-state neutron captured on gadolinium. This sample was selected from the complete data set obtained by the Daya Bay reactor neutrino experiment in 3158 days of operation. Compared to the previous Daya Bay results, selection of IBD candidates has been optimized, energy calibration refined, and treatment of backgrounds further improved. The resulting oscillation parameters are sin22θ13=0.0851±0.0024{\rm sin}^{2}2{\theta}_{13} = 0.0851 \pm 0.0024, Δm322=(2.466±0.060)×103eV2{\Delta}{\rm m}^{2}_{32} = (2.466 \pm 0.060) \times 10^{-3}{\rm eV}^{2} for the normal mass ordering or Δm322=(2.571±0.060)×103eV2{\Delta}{\rm m}^{2}_{32} = -(2.571 \pm 0.060) \times 10^{-3} {\rm eV}^{2} for the inverted mass ordering.Comment: 7 pages, 3 figures, 1 table, 10 supplementary file
