Spin Waves in a Periodically Layered Magnetic Nanowire

We report a simple theoretical derivation of the spectrum and damping of spin waves in a cylindrical periodically structured magnetic nanowire (cylindrical magnonic crystal) in the "effective medium" approximation. The dependence of the "effective" magnetic parameters upon the individual layer parameters is shown to be different from the arithmetic average over the volume of the superlattice. The formulae that are obtained can be applied firstly in the description of spin wave dispersion in the first allowed band of the structure; and secondly in the design of a magnonic crystal with band-gaps in an arbitrary part of the spin wave spectrum.Comment: 15 pages, 3 figures; submitted to Journal of Applied Physic

Wannier-Stark ladder spectrum of Bloch oscillations of magneto-dipole spin waves in graded 1D magnonic crystals

The final version is available from AIP Publishing via the DOI in this recordWe have used the method of Wannier functions to calculate the frequencies and profiles of spin waves localised in one-dimensional (1D) magnonic crystals due to a gradient in the bias magnetic field. This localisation of spin waves is analogous to the phenomenon of Bloch oscillations of quantum-mechanical electrons in crystals in a uniform electric field. As a convenient yet realistic model, we consider backward volume magnetostatic spin waves (BVMSWs) in a film of yttriumiron garnet (YIG) in a bias magnetic field comprising spatially uniform, cosine and gradient contributions. The spin-wave spectrum is shown to have the characteristic form of a WannierStark ladder. The analytical results are verified using those obtained using numerical micromagnetic simulations. Останні роки Україна перебуває в процесі ланцюгових реформ, зокрема реформування державних інститутів, а відтак децентралізацію було визнано одним із ключових пріоритетів державної політики України спрямованих на задоволення публічних потреб, підвищення рівня життя населення. Співвідноситься правова думка щодо поняття децентралізація вітчизняних та зарубіжних науковців. Робиться висновок про відсутність єдиної концепції децентралізації публічної влади в Україні. Вітчизняні науковці здебільшого перебувають на стадії пошуку та обговорення сутності поняття децентралізації, їх роботам притаманні подібність, громіздкість та узагальнення. Зазначається, що бачення вітчизняними науковцями децентралізації зводиться до процесу, процедури, дії, діяльності, інструменту, методу управління, що спрямовані на ефективну реорганізацію публічної влади з послабленням останньої в частині перерозподілу владних повноважень між центральними державними органами та органами місцевого самоврядування з метою встановлення їх самостійності, самодостатності та можливості вирішувати питання та захищати інтереси місцевого значення. Нестача концептуальної моделі децентралізації, яка б оптимально задовольняла суспільство зводить нанівець реформаторські зусилля влади. Великою проблемою є відсутність єдиної політики, яка б підтримувалася з приходом нової політичної еліти до влади. Звідси абстрактність та нечіткість формулювань, що обумовлено розрізненістю наукових поглядів, відсутністю національної концепції децентралізації публічної влади в Україні, відірваністю теорії від практики. Фактична універсальність владних повноважень унеможливлює виділення самобутніх повноважень місцевого самоврядування в Україні на сучасному етапі її розвитку. На законодавчому рівні відсутні чіткі критерії розмежування компетенції, що фактично породило дублювання їх повноважень. Пропонується визначення децентралізації публічної влади в Україні.The article is dedicated to highlighting one of the pressing problems of reforming the public administration system. In last years, Ukraine has been in the process of reforms, in particular the reform of state institutions, and therefore decentralization has been recognized as one of the key priorities of Ukraine’s public policy aimed at meeting public needs and improving the standard of living of the population. The legal opinion on the concept of decentralization of domestic and foreign scientists is related. It is concluded that there is currently no single concept of decentralization of public power in Ukraine. For the most part, domestic scientists are at the stage of searching and discussing the essence of the concept of decentralization, their works are inherent in similarity, complexity and generalization. It is noted that the vision of domestic scientists of decentralization comes down to a process, procedure, action, activity, tool, method of management aimed at the effective reorganization of public power with the weakening of the latter in terms of redistribution of power between central government and local self-government bodies, self-sufciency and the ability to address issues and protect local interests. The lack of a conceptual model of decentralization that would optimally satisfy society negates the reform efforts of the authorities. The big problem is the lack of a unifed policy that would be supported by the new political elite coming to power. Hence the abstractness and fuzziness of the formulations, which is caused by the diversity of scientifc views, the absence of a national concept of decentralization of public power in Ukraine, the separation of theory from practice. The actual versatility of government powers make it impossible to allocate the original powers of local self-government in Ukraine at this stage of its development. At the legislative level, there are still no clear criteria for the differentiation of competences, which in fact gave rise to duplication of powers. The defnition of decentralization of public power in Ukraine is proposed.Статья посвящена одной из актуальных проблем реформирования системы государственного управления.
