    Effect of regulatory peptides on the parametres of human ejaculate

    The results of the impact of some biologically active synthetic substances, antioxidants, and regulatory oligopeptides. Application Semax as stimulating agent in the experiment showed a positive effect, which is expressed in increasing overall sperm motility and much more in actively movind population. Selank also has a stimulating effect on sperm motility, improving the overall mobility by 18 %, and active – 39 %. Have a significant positive effect of regulatory peptides. Used in a concentration of all three peptides showed similar results, improving the overall mobility in the first hour of incubation at 21–36 % for the 3rd hour – 25–42 %. Active mobility increased by 39–79% and 63– 88%, respectively. Meksidol showed noticeable changes in sperm motility in the experiment, and in patients with patospermia. Thus, the use of biologically active peptides in an experiment can serve as a basis for their introduction into clinical practice andrology and reproduction.</em

    In Vivo Morphological Changes of the Femoropopliteal Arteries due to Knee Flexion After Endovascular Treatment of Popliteal Aneurysm

    none11Purpose: To evaluate morphological changes of the femoropopliteal (FP) arteries due to limb flexion in patients undergoing endovascular treatment of popliteal artery aneurysms (PAAs). Materials and Methods: Seven male patients (mean age 68 years) underwent endovascular treatment of PAA with a Viabahn stent-graft between January 2013 and December 2017. During follow-up, one contrast-enhanced computed tomography angiography (CTA) scan of the lower limbs was acquired for each recruited patient. A standardized CTA protocol for acquisitions in both straight-leg and bent-leg positions was used to visualize changes in artery shape due to limb flexion. Three-dimensional reconstruction of the FP segment was performed to compute mean diameter and eccentricity of the vascular lumen and to measure length, tortuosity, and curvature of the vessel centerline in 3 arterial zones: (A) between the origin of the superficial femoral artery and the proximal end of the stent-graft, (B) within the stent-graft, and (C) from the distal end of the stent-graft to the origin of the anterior tibial artery. Results: After limb flexion, all zones of the FP segment foreshortened: 6% in zone A (p=0.001), 4% in zone B (p=0.001), and 8% in zone C (p=0.07), which was the shortest (mean 4.5±3.6 cm compared with 23.8±5.7 cm in zone A and 23.6±7.4 cm in zone B). Tortuosity increased in zone A (mean 0.03 to 0.05, p=0.03), in zone B (0.06 to 0.15, p=0.005), and in zone C (0.027 to 0.031, p=0.1). Mean curvature increased 15% (p=0.05) in zone A, 27% (p=0.005) in zone B, and 95% (p=0.06) in zone C. In all zones, the mean artery diameter and eccentricity were not significantly affected by limb flexion.     Thermal Dissolution of Coking Coals in the Anthracene Fraction of Coal Tar

    The thermal dissolution of two samples of 1GZhR and ZhR coal in the anthracene fraction of coal tar is studied. The yield of quinoline-soluble products increases considerably in the temperature range of coal softening. Optimal thermal-dissolution conditions are determined for selective production of quinoline-soluble pitch-like products. At 350–380°C, the yield of quinoline-soluble products is 70–73% after 1–2 h. The yields of the distillate fraction and the gas are 0.9% and 0.2%, respectively. The ash-free pitch-like product is a plastic mass with a softening temperature of 76–81°C. It consists mainly of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons with a few short alkyl substituents in the aromatic rings. The spatial structure mainly includes poorly structured polycyclic aromatic molecules of the γ component. The proportion of relatively ordered graphitelike packets is 31–37%. Each packet contains five stacked polycyclic aromatic molecules of diameter 17 Å. In terms of its composition and plasticity, the product is suitable as a source of alternatives to coal pitch

    Novel additive technology of the Chemical Metallization of Photopolymer-based Structures (CMPS) is under active elaboration currently at the IAP RAS (Nizhny Novgorod). The use of this technology has made it possible to implement components of electron&ndash;optical and electrodynamic systems for high-power microwave vacuum tubes, such as a gyrotron and a relativistic Cherenkov maser, the design and experimental studies of which are described in this paper. Within the framework of the gyrotron developments, we carried out a simulation of the distribution of the heat load on the collector of high-power technological gyrotron taking into account secondary emission. The prospect of a significant reduction in the maximum power density of the deposited electron beam was shown. The experimental study of the gyrotron collector module manufactured using CMPS technology demonstrated high potential for its further implementation. Recent results of theoretical and experimental studies of a spatially extended Ka-band Cherenkov maser are presented. In this oscillator, the 2D-periodical slow-wave structure made by the proposed technology was applied and a narrow-band generation regime was observed with a sub-GW power level. The design and simulations of a novel selective electrodynamic system for a high-harmonic gyrotron with the planned application of the CMPS technology are discussed

    Association of breastfeeding with mental disorders in mother and child: a systematic review and meta-analysis

    Background: Breastfeeding has long been associated with numerous benefits for both mothers and infants. While some observational studies have explored the relationship between breastfeeding and mental health outcomes in mothers and children, a systematic review of the available evidence is lacking. The purpose of this study is to systematically evaluate the association between breastfeeding and mental health disorders in mothers and children. Methods: We systematically searched MEDLINE and EMBASE from inception to June 2, 2023. The inclusion criteria consisted of all studies evaluating links between breastfeeding and development of mental health disorders in children and mothers. Risk of bias was assessed using the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale (NOS) while grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation (GRADE) was used to assess the certainty of evidence. A random-effects meta-analysis was used if possible, to estimate the odds ratio for the association between breastfeeding and mental health outcomes. The Mantel-Haenszel method was utilised for pooling ORs across studies. Study heterogeneity was assessed using the I² statistic. Results: Our review identified twenty-one original study. Of these, 18 focused on the association between breastfeeding and child health, assessing depressive disorders, schizophrenia, anxiety disorders, eating disorders and borderline personality disorder. Three studies evaluated the associations between breastfeeding and maternal mental health disorders. Three studies looking at outcomes in children showed no significant association between breastfeeding and occurrence of schizophrenia later in life (OR 0.98; 95% CI 0.57–1.71; I2 = 29%). For depressive disorders (5 studies) and anxiety disorders (3 studies), we found conflicting evidence with some studies showing a small protective effect while others found no effect. The GRADE certainty for all these findings was very low due to multiple limitations. Three studies looking at association between breastfeeding and maternal mental health, were too heterogeneous to draw any firm conclusions. Conclusions: We found limited evidence to support a protective association between breastfeeding and the development of mental health disorders in children later in life. The data regarding the association between breastfeeding and maternal mental health beyond the postnatal period is also limited. The methodological limitations of the published literature prevent definitive conclusions, and further research is needed to better understand the relationship between breastfeeding and mental health in mothers and children
