Basic stages of magnet production by fluoride technology

    Get PDF
This paper presents the results of development of ecological low-waste β€œdry” fluoride technology of magnetic material production on the basis of rare-earth metals of the Nd-Fe-B-system. The physicochemical fundamentals are stated and the basic stages of the proposed technology are experimentally examined: the fluorination of raw material with elemental fluorine, the production of compact ingot alloys and addition alloys by the calcium-thermal out-of-furnace reduction of fluorides, the production of magnets with the help of the powder metallurgy method using mechanical or hydride grinding, as well as waste processing.</jats:p

In this paper the results of investigation of phase formation and change of concentration of free electrons (Ne) in indium tin oxide system during heat treatment of coprecipitated hydroxides of indium and tin from nitric and hydrochloric solutions and also, for comparison melts of salts nitrates by an alkaline reactant (NH4OH) are considered. The performed investigation allowed to set the optimal condition of preparation of polycrystalline tin-doped indium oxide with maximal electron concentration

The preparation of the Ti-Al alloys based on intermetallic phases

    Get PDF
This article deals with a method of obtaining materials in the Ti-Al system. Research was carried out in accordance with the phase diagram of the system state. It was established, that both single-phase and multiphase systems, containing finely dispersed intermetallic compositions of phases Ti3Al, TiAl and TiAl3, are formed. Additionally, it was found that the pure finely dispersed (coherent-scattering region (CSR) up to 100 nm) intermetallic compound TiAl3 is formed at molar ratio of Ti:Al = 1:3. Experimentally proved the possibility of produce the complex composition of alloys and intermetallic compounds and products based on them

Prospects of photocatalysis in diesel fraction purification

    Get PDF
The photocatalysis process is widely used for removal of toxic chemical compounds from water and air. Oxides, sulfides of semiconductor materials are used as catalysts in photochemical processes, one of which is titanium dioxide. The manufacturing of an effective catalyst – nanotubes of titanium dioxide and the study of its physicochemical characteristics are considered in this paper. The behavior of titanium dioxide with various structures in the course of removing sulfur-containing organic compounds from diesel oil fractions is investigated. It is found out that titanium dioxide nanotubes (NT) are the most efficient catalysts for the photooxidation. Photocatalytic treatment of diesel fractions allows efficient and simple purification of oil products from unwanted components

New FEM - Programs for modeling coupled processes of selective vapor condensation during laser processing of materials

This research presents a computer model for conjugate heat and mass transfer during laser processing of materials. The computer programs based on FEM, which allow to predict the processes of formation of evaporation and condensation zones on the surface areas surrounding the crater are implemented. There is the presence of three modes of operation, differing in the configuration of evaporation zones - condensation. The identified control parameters change modes. A phase diagram for the implementation of process modes is proposed. Finally, the research discusses the possibility of managing the process. Β© 2020 American Institute of Physics Inc..
