Glueball and gluelump spectrum in abelian projected QCD

    Get PDF
We study glueball and gluelump spectra calculated after abelian projection in both quenched and Nf=2N_f=2 full QCD. The abelian projection is made after MA gauge fixing. We demonstrate that both spectra can be recovered despite the problem with positivity. We suggest the interpretation of some of the gluelump states in the language of the abelian projected theory.Comment: Lattice 2001(confinement), 3 page

Physiological, biochemical and molecular characterization of potential bacteriocin producing strain isolated from fermented berseem

    Get PDF
Lactic acid bacteria in fermented foods help in the improvement of flavour, preservation of the nutritive values of the raw material, and inhibition of growth or killing of food spoilage and pathogenic bacteria. Beside other metabolites, the produced bacteriocin, which is a ribosomally synthesized antimicrobial peptide, is the major metabolite involved in the killing of food spoilage microorganisms and acts as a biopreservative. In search of a bacteriocin having specific inhibitory activity against food pathogenic bacteria, isolation of bacteriocin producing lactic acid bacteria from various food items was carried out. Based on maximum production of the bacteriocin, strain BS13 was characterized and was further identified as Enterococcus faecium BS13 on the basis of physicochemical properties and 16S rRNA analysis. In MRS medium this isolate presented the maximum production of bacteriocin (27 306 AU ml−1) after 18 h of incubation period. BS13 bacteriocin showed antimicrobial activity against a wide range of bacteria, including Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus sp., Pediococcus sp., Listeria monocytogenes and Lactobacillus sp

    A short distance quark-antiquark potential

    Get PDF
Leading terms of the static quark-antiquark potential in the background perturbation theory are reviewed, including perturbative, nonperturbative and interference ones. The potential is shown to describe lattice data at short quark-antiquark separations with a good accuracy.Comment: 4 pages, 2 figures, talk at the NPD-2002 Conference, December 2-6, ITEP, Moscow, references update

PRASAVA (LABOUR) IN AYURVEDA- A LESS KNOWN CONCEPT

    Get PDF
Childbirth is a physiologic and natural process has been undertaken by women over the years with professional assistance in which most of the women experience labour pain and childbirth as most severe and agonising event of a woman’s existence. Labour is linked with a painful experience, though there are no underlying pathological processes, a lot of women are worried about labour pain and how they can be relieved of pain. Pharmacological agents such as pethidine (Meperidine) and other analgesics are used to effectively control labour pain. Both pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches are necessary to relief labour pain effectively. Some women employ other non- pharmacological pain relief measures during labour such as breathing exercises, taking showers, and assuming specific positions and moving about to control their pain. In addition, the use of herbal medicine has been reported to relieve labour pain. Description of labour in Ayurvedic science, though found since 5000yrs ago is a very less known concept to many people as they are not much in practice. Currently the labour is managed only by the conventional medicine with some interventions with addition of Yoga and Ayurveda in the Antenatal care. By evaluating the complete knowledge of Prasava or the labour explained in Ayurvedic science, the same may be incorporated as an add-on in the future studies to make it evidence based and also to corroborate the authenticity of the science through research

The flux distribution of the three quark system in SU(3)

We study the abelian color-flux distribution of the three quark system in the maximally abelian gauge on SU(3) lattices. The distribution of the color electric field suggests YAnsatzY Ansatz, which might be interpreted through the dual superconductor picture as the result of the vacuum pressure in the confined phase. In order to clarify the flux structure, we investigate the color electric field in the three quark system also in the monopole part and in the photon part.Comment: 3pages, 5figures, Lattice2002(topology

Bianchi Type V Viscous Fluid Cosmological Models in Presence of Decaying Vacuum Energy

Bianchi type V viscous fluid cosmological model for barotropic fluid distribution with varying cosmological term Λ\Lambda is investigated. We have examined a cosmological scenario proposing a variation law for Hubble parameter HH in the background of homogeneous, anisotropic Bianchi type V space-time. The model isotropizes asymptotically and the presence of shear viscosity accelerates the isotropization. The model describes a unified expansion history of the universe indicating initial decelerating expansion and late time accelerating phase. Cosmological consequences of the model are also discussed.Comment: 10 pages, 3 figure

OMDT: Online Mathematics Diagnostic Tool Report – 2019

The Pacific region faces an acute problem of numeracy skills. This is due to various factors such as resources, unqualified mathematics teachers, different curriculum in the countries and their coverage, lack of localized textbooks and learning materials, and many more. Consequently, students are deprived of good mathematics and sometimes certain mathematics topics are compromised. They arrive for their tertiary journeys with different levels of mathematics, many of them are already in the at-risk category even before they join the university, and hence are set to fail in their programmes right from the start. All these invariably show the dire and genuine need for OMDT

Gribov Copies in the Maximally Abelian Gauge and Confinement

    Get PDF
We fix SU(2)SU(2) lattice gauge fields to the Maximally Abelian gauge in both three and four dimensions. We extract the corresponding U(1)U(1) fields and monopole current densities and calculate separately the confining string tensions arising from these U(1)U(1) fields and monopole `condensates'. We generate multiple Gribov copies and study how the U(1)U(1) fields and monopole distributions vary between these different copies. As expected, we find substantial variations in the number of monopoles, their locations and in the values of the U(1)U(1) field strengths. The string tensions extracted from `extreme' Gribov copies also differ but this difference appears to be no more than about 20\%. We also directly compare the fields of different Gribov copies. We find that on the distance scales relevant to confinement the U(1)U(1) and monopole fluxes that disorder Wilson loops are highly correlated between these different Gribov copies. All this suggests that while there is indeed a Gribov copy problem the resulting ambiguity is, in this gauge and for the study of confinement, of limited importance.Comment: 31 pages LaTeX plus 5 PostScript figures.
