Apsces u mozgu belog west highland terijera izazvan bakterijom Trueperella pyogenes
Get PDFCerebral abscesses are occasionally seen in animals, however are rare in dogs. Among the pyogenic bacteria causing cerebral abscesses Trueperella pyogenes is relatively scarce. In this report, a case of T. pyogenes induced cerebral abscess in a West Highland White Terrier was presented with histopathological and bacteriological findings. Two foci of cerebral abscesses located at the level of the thalamus, and the frontal and temporal lobes were described on necropsy. Severe suppurative meningoencephalitis and ventriculitis were noted on microscopic view. T. pyogenes was isolated and identified in bacteriological investigation. This report states that T. pyogenes can be a causative agent of cerebral abscesses in dogs.Cerebralni apscesi se povremeno nalaze kod životinja, međutim retko se sreću kod pasa. Pored ostalih piogenih bakterija koje izazivaju cerebralne apscese, relativno retko se nalazi Trueperella pyogenes vrsta. U radu je prikazan slučaj cerebranog apscesa kod belog West Highland terijera, izazvan sa Trueperella pyogenes, zajedno sa histopatološkim i bakteriološkim nalazima. Prilikom obdukcije, opisana su dva fokusa cerebralnih apscesa, locirana na nivou talamusa uz opis frontalnih i tempralnih lobusa. Prilikom mikroskopskog pregleda, uočeni su težak gnojni meningoencefalitis i ventrikulitis. Bakteriološkim pregledom, identifi kovan je Trueperella pyogenes. Televizyonda Gündüz Kuşağı Programlarındaki Dönüşüm: “Esra Erol’da” Örneği
No full textTelevizyon türleri, kültürel ve ekonomi-politik nedenlerle her zaman bir dönüşüm içerisindedir. Tür açısından melez bir yapısı olan gündüz kuşağı programları da bu değişimden nasibini almıştır. Anaakım televizyon kanallarında yer alan gündüz kuşağı programlarının en dikkat çeken formatını ise evlilik programları oluşturmuştur. Türkiye’de 2017 yılına dek yayınlanmaya devam eden ve ulusal televizyon kanallarında pek çok örneğine rastlanan evlilik programları, sadece yayıncılık açısından değil aynı zamanda konuları ve konuklarıyla tartışmalı bir alan olarak dikkatleri üzerine çekmiştir. Reyting başarılarının yanında fazlaca eleştiri alan bu programlar, 29 Nisan 2017’de kanun hükmünde kararname ile yasaklanmıştır. Bu nedenle, araştırmanın konusunu oluşturan “Esra Erol’da” programı, aynı isimle yayın hayatına devam etse de içerik değişikliğine gitmek zorunda kalmıştır. Bu format içerisinde en fazla reyting alan program olduğu için seçilen Esra Erol’da programının 05-09 Mart 2018 tarihleri arasında yayınlanan beş programı kayıt altına alınmış ve söylem analizi tekniği kullanılarak ideolojik söylemi ortaya konulmuştur. Bu değişimle birlikte program; dil kullanımı ve temsiliyetlerin daha titiz yapılandırıldığı, toplumsal olayların gündeme taşınmaya başlandığı ve sosyal hayatın bir takım problemlerinin tartışıldığı bir arena haline gelmiştir. Ancak bu yeni format, programda yer alan kişilerin hala mahrem konularını gözler önüne sermekte, olayı görünür kılıp (çoğu kez) çözüme ulaştırmadan tıpkı kurgusal bir drama izler gibi dramatik etkinin giderek yükseldiği ve sonunda final yaptığı içerikten kurtulamamıştır. Being hybrid, with regards to their genres, day time programs also got also their shares from this transformation. Marriage programs became the most attention-grabbing format among the day time programs in mainstream TV channels. Marriage programs, a lot of examples of which could be found on national TV channels and which were broadcasted until 2017, drew attention as a controversial field with regards to not only broadcasting but also to their themes and guests within the programs. Together with their success, these programs were widely criticized and were banned with a decree-law on April 29, 2017. Thus, being the research subject, the program titled as “Esra Erol’da”, amended its content although went on its broadcasting with the same title. Being chosen as it used to get the highest ratings within this format, five episodes of Esra Erol’da program between the dates March 05-09, 2018 was recorded and ideological discourse of the program was suggested through discourse analysis technique. With this transformation, the program has become an arena where the language use and representations were structured more meticulously, social events were brought up to the agenda and some problems of social life were discussed. Nevertheless, this new format is still displaying private issues of the people attending the program and could not get rid of the content in which the matter is made visible but (mostly) not resolved and dramatic effect is gradually risen and finished at the end like a drama. In the last analysis, the problematic content structure of the day time marriage programs, which changed shell, keeps its existence after evolving.Keywords: TV, Day Time Programs, Marriage Programs, Reality Show, İdeological Discourse.</p
PARAMETER ESTIMATION IN WEIBULL DISTRIBUTION ON PROGRESSIVELY TYPE-II CENSORED SAMPLE WITH BETA-BINOMIAL REMOVALS
No full textIn this article, the estimation of parameters based on progressively type-II censored sample with random removals from the Weibull distribution is studied. The number of units removed at each failure time is assumed to follow a Beta-binomial distribution. Based on this type of censored sample, the maximum likelihood (ML) and approximate maximum likelihood (AML) estimators for the parameters of the Weibull distribution are derived. A Monte Carlo simulation study is also conducted to compare the performance of ML and AML estimators under progressively type-II censoring with the different random schemes

No full textÖzetTelevizyon program türleri, kültürel ve ekonomi-politik nedenlerle her zaman bir dönüşüm içerisindedir. Televizyon türleri açısından melez bir yapısı olan kadın kuşağı programları da bu değişimden nasibini almaktadır. Anaakım televizyon kanallarında yer alan kadın kuşağının en dikkat çeken formatı ise evlilik programlarıdır. Türkiye’de 2017 yılına dek yayınlanmaya devam eden ve ulusal televizyon kanallarında pek çok örneğine rastlanan evlilik programları ‘karnavalesk’ bir anlatıya sahiptir. Yoğun eğlence söyleminin üretildiği, katılanların çoğu kez dış görünüş itibariyle değerlendirildiği, tiye alındığı ve sahip olduklarıyla değer kazandığı bu programlarda yer alan konukların ve katılımcıların yaşamlarının bir kesiti doğru veya yanlış biçimde, ancak çoğu zaman mahremiyet sınırlarını ihlal eden söylemler dâhilinde iletilmektedir. Bu bakımdan kadın kuşağı programlarının analizi ve satırarası mesajlarının çözümlenmesi önem arz etmektedir.Reyting başarılarının yanında fazlaca eleştiri alan bu programlar, 29 Nisan 2017’de resmi gazetede yayınlanan 60. maddeye eklenen 4. fıkraya göre kanun hükmünde kararname ile yasaklanmıştır. On the performance of the flexible maximum entropy distributions within partially adaptive estimation
No full textThe partially adaptive estimation based on the assumed error distribution has emerged as a popular approach for estimating a regression model with non-normal errors. In this approach, if the assumed distribution is flexible enough to accommodate the shape of the true underlying error distribution, the efficiency of the partially adaptive estimator is expected to be close to the efficiency of the maximum likelihood estimator based on knowledge of the true error distribution. In this context, the maximum entropy distributions have attracted interest since such distributions have a very flexible functional form and nest most of the statistical distributions. Therefore, several flexible MaxEnt distributions under certain moment constraints are determined to use within the partially adaptive estimation procedure and their performances are evaluated relative to well-known estimators. The simulation results indicate that the determined partially adaptive estimators perform well for non-normal error distributions. In particular, some can be useful in dealing with small sample sizes. A Monte Carlo simulation study on partially adaptive estimators of linear regression models
No full textThis paper presents a comprehensive comparison of well-known partially adaptive estimators (PAEs) in terms of efficiency in estimating regression parameters. The aim is to identify the best estimators of regression parameters when error terms follow from normal, Laplace, Student's t , normal mixture, lognormal and gamma distribution via the Monte Carlo simulation. In the results of the simulation, efficient PAEs are determined in the case of symmetric leptokurtic and skewed leptokurtic regression error data. Additionally, these estimators are also compared in terms of regression applications. Regarding these applications, using certain standard error estimators, it is shown that PAEs can reduce the standard error of the slope parameter estimate relative to ordinary least squares.

Treatment of dermatophilosis with oxytetracycline and tylosin combination in Saanen goat kids
No full textIn this study, it was aimed to determine the treatment efficacy of oxytetracycline and tylosin combination in Saanen goat kids with Dermatophilus congolensis infection. Samples, were collected from the 27 of 4-5-month-old Saanen goat kids, and analyzed from bacteriological, mycological and ectoparasitological aspects. D. congolensis was isolated from the samples as pure culture. In the mycological analysis of the samples, no microorganisms were found, while flea was detected in ectoparasitological examinations. A combination of oxytetracycline and tylosin was recommended for dermatophilosis treatment, and the lesions regressed 5 days after the treatment and disappeared over time. It was concluded that D. congolensis infection in Saanen goats kids were observed for the first time in Turkey and can be treated successfully with oxytetracycline and tylosin combination
